I stayed in Grand Island on my way to my real destination.
I stayed in Grand Island on my way to my real destination. For navigation, I relied on Siri. I couldn't tell you how I got into or out of this town but it seemed convoluted. Lot's of fast food choices for those in a hurry which I am always in.

We were there for an agricultural event called "Husker Harvest Days" so we had little time to explore the city. We did visit the Stuhr Museum and enjoyed their display comparing "The Great Gatsby" to the same time period in Nebraska. They also have a permanent display of Nebraska's pioneering days.
We found a little 50's cafe in an area called "The Railside District".

The loud traffic that cruised the parking lot all night made you wonder if your car would be there in the morning. I had to leave a day early and the front desk was closed and no place to leave key. Called back to make sure I would get a refund for the night I didn't spend there. They refused to credit my card telling me I had to contact Booking.com to get them to refund. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Grand Island is the best place to stay if you are a birder. It is the beginning of the legendary Platte River, and is a special destination between February and April when the sandhill cranes journey north. The Platte River hosts half a million different kinds of birds every year. If you are a person who loves birds, this is Mecca. Craig and Kimberly’s place was a peaceful stopping point on our trip and I would definitely stay there again. Quiet, tasteful, and close to dozens of restaurants.

The people encountered in the community are friendly, and appear to be hardworking people in the community. There seemed to be a limited selection of restaurants in the strip leading into town and in the actual downtown.
The accommodation was fine, it was just WAY TOO EXPENSIVE for what it was. It was a busy baseball weekend and hard to find a room while traveling. These rooms were older, but kinda fixed up to look new. They had the older hotel smell. The room was clean, but still not new enough to want to walk on the carpet. Breakfast was fine. The eggs were good, but not a ton of options. Again, it was ok, just not worth $225.
This place would perfect in the summer! There is a good-sized pool, two groupings of lounge chairs around a fire pit, one covered including shade curtains. There are few places, I think, as pleasant in Grand Island if you would want to stay awhile and avoid a hotel. There is a completely enclosed backyard if you would have a dog.
I read the reviews and arrived expecting a cheap motel and was just hoping it was clean and bug free. I was pleasantly surprised to find a very reasonable hotel room with new (or fairly new) furnishings. It seemed like work was still being done on the lobby, but the room was great.
Georgia & staff reflected the highest of standards.
Bed & pillows excellent. Breakfast was great.
This is my new go to hotel in Grand Island. It beats the one I have been using for the past 10 years in all areas. Value, service, cleanliness & location.
This was the best hotel my husband and I stayed at while on a week long vacation. It was clean, comfortable, had friendly staff, good location, great breakfast, great layout of the room, well-maintained, easy to access and affordable!
I’ve travel Nebraska frequently and stayed in a lot of hotels (especially Omaha, Lincoln, and Kearney). This is one of the cleanest and quietest across the state. Will definitely go back.
Everything ! Milo at the front desk was extremely helpful and very nice ! The hotel may have been the cleanest hotel I ever stayed in . The beds were comfortable, everything was very nice
Older hotel but clean and comfortable. Good beds. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Front desk man, can't recall name was just as nice and helpful as possible. Great employee!
The hotel was nicer than I expected based off some reviews. We had a pool view room with outside access, which was really nice. The outdoor area in the middle of the hotel was nice.
