Beautiful place. Safe areas to cross traffic. Beautiful beach within walking distance. Nice selection of restaurants within walking distance and/or short driving distance.
Had to make several U-turns until I understood how the roadways were connected.

Lovely place to stay for decent rates and nice staff and pool! Clean and quick to all sites from Newport to San Diego. Stayed 40 years ago and it's the same great place. Nice some things stay the same. Must eat at top of Dana Point at Restaurant overlooking the Bay. Forgot name but really great prices for food and the normal price of California.

Dana Point is such a beautiful gem!
Dana Point is such a beautiful gem! There are so many things to see and do. We had done our research and didn't check much off the list since we were so content with everything right there in the harbor. We loved Dana Point very much and will definitely be back to see more!

My stay was very nice.
My stay was very nice. Phil, the guy at the desk was very pleasant. I’m not sure of the name of the lady that was working there, but she was very pleasant. They made it feel nice & homely. The other guest there were nice. Everyone seemed to be social & comfortable. It was very cold when we arrived & the room was nice & warm. It smelled fresh. Floors & bathroom was nice & clean. Their coffee was tasty, if ur a coffee drinker you know what I mean. I will stay there again if we were to head back that way. & please go eat at PANCAKE STACKS
They mention charges for pet urine so you wrap your dog in diapers and clothes paranoid… then come in to shine the black light and see piss all over the couch. So… that being said. I don’t care because I just needed the bed but let’s be real. Clean the urine if you have a large fee for pet urine or… know you are a pet hotel and chill with all that.
The hotel is fine. Obviously a great location. The rooms, the facilities are just NOT a $600-$700/night worth of an experience. I travel the world ALL the time and I have stayed in far nicer places (with a much more expensive experience) for these prices. We had to be there for a wedding. Would not go back for those prices. Would for ~$300/night.
Beautiful location and a quaint boutique hotel.
The only con was the TV wasn’t working even after resetting and had very few channels and there is no internal kiosk for emergency needs such as pain medication. Otherwise, a beautiful and peaceful place with nice staff.
The breakfast was that of a typical low end hotel. Dehydrated eggs, waffle machine, bagels, etc. several things to choose from, just lower end. The towels were clean and soft. It was located where were didn't have to travel. Could walk to restaurants and marina.
Very seldom when you travel does a hotel exceed your expectations. The Blue Lantern and especially the wonderful stuff accomplished this. My wife and can’t wait to return.
Thanks again for making our stay so enjoyable.

The best thing about the hotel is the location. We loved walking all around the marina and liked that there were many restaurant choices within walking distance. The room was clean and bed was comfortable.
The size of the room was great, it was clean, parking is easily accessible and staff was very friendly. Really cool little hotel, close to the beach and relaxing atmosphere despite the road in front of it.
While it’s an older hotel the location can’t be beat! Comfortable beds, clean room. The staff was great from Christine at the desk to housekeeping. All were helpful and friendly.
The Inn is located on a bluff overlooking Dana Point Harbor, beautiful. Walking. Hiking. Swimming. Sailing, pattl boarding its all walking or a 2 minute drive. Love this Inn.
