Very convenient location for an overnight stop between Halifax and Toronto. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and on the ground floor there is the ability to park right outside the room (helpful when transporting a student back home with all their luggage). A big bonus is The Boreal restaurant onsite which is truly excellent quality and great service.
Offering great views of the Saint-Lawrence River, this Rivière-du-Loup hotel features a wellness center, spa and 2 on-site restaurant.

What made this stay great was the incredible food and service I experienced in the dining room. Most hotel food is blah, but the menu was amazing and great wine list as well. I expected a ho him dinner and was so pleasantly surprised by the quality of food. Service was impeccable.

We blaze through Rivière-du-Loup regularly on the way from Ontario to northern New Brunswick--it's not worth breaking the journey. This time we were going to southern NB so it made sense to stop. I'm not sure there's anything really in the RDL area that would make me spend a couple of days there, but if you need to break a journey, there are worse places to do it.

Absolutely stunning area. Parc des Chutes was amazing.
Absolutely stunning area. Parc des Chutes was amazing. Wish we had more time to explore. Had an excellent dinner within walking distance of the falls. Highly recommend L'Estaminet for a meal. Even though my french is limited, everyone was very accommodating.

The auberge was clean and staff were welcoming and friendly. Room with 1 bed and bunk beds had a small washroom with toilet, sink and shower. Breakfast provided a good assortment of food. Location was great...within walking distance of the lovely main street and restaurants. The auberge exceeded my expectations! Great value for price.

We loved our stay, especially the Nordic spa and proximity to excellent restaurants. Having dinner at L'Innocent was perfect after a long day of driving.
The sporadic rattling of our A/C unit throughout the night is one thing that could be improved otherwise everything was perfect.

The location was excellent, the quietness was great.
The location was excellent, the quietness was great. It was older and felt unclean. The washroom and shower was a way too tiny, the bed was small and lacked a head board, the carpet like most carpets was old and felt unclean.

The coffee and the breakfast was excellent. They even had real maple syrup which was a treat for our pancakes. Also they had fruit which much of the hotels do not have. So it was great to have fruit with breakfast.
Rather than a typical hotel room for a one night stay while travelling through the region, Auberge Mr. James is a beautiful old home with uniquely renovated rooms. There is a delightful, restful atmosphere.
Location with beautiful views/sunsets of the St. Lawrence River. With binoculars, it is possible to see the tops of beluga whales from a hotel room that faces the river. Very cool. Beds are very comfy.
The extra we paid for the spectacular river view was well worth it. We enjoyed the sunset from the balcony of our very spacious room. The hotel is conveniently located, and close to the ferry.
Beautiful room in a lovely building. Far exceeded our expectations. Great value for money, and one of our favorite hotels on our road trip. Would definitely love to come back.
The breakfast was excellent. The bathroom was very nice.We had a very hard time trying to find the hotel and just as hard a time trying to get back to the Hwy.85 to NB.
