We spent an evening and a morning here. We arrived mid-pm direct from DMK Bangkok airport by train which took less than an hour and cost less than a pound. We went to a temple for sunset, visited a busy night market and had dinner by the river. Next am we drove around in a tuk tuk for 3 hours and visited nearly all the temples. Hot work but totally rewarding. I guess with more time we'd have done the museum as well although there's a lot of Ayutthaya to see in the National Museum in Bangkok.

Love his tory and ruins, then you will love this place.
Love his tory and ruins, then you will love this place. You can even dress up and get photo in traditional dress, or kick back in a local bar along one of the canals or go to the little floating market or the night market. Fun place, but lots of walking. Good value for money paid.

Great stay.
Great stay. We needed a few extra days to get around due to an elderly traveller however would recommend 2-3 days here, and a mix of night time and day visits to the temples. This is true old school Thailand, friendly, laidback and local pricing away from awful advantages tourism (sex, drugs, fire twirling)

The historical sites are interesting, and there are a variety of ways to see them. Tuk Tuks are plentiful and most drivers speak some English. If you want to hire a tuk tuk driver to take you to see various sites, the rates is 300 baht per hour. You can also visit l the sites individually and get a tuk tuk for about 100 baht. There is also the option of walking. Several sites are in close proximity and are easily walked or bikes can be rented, if you prefer. There is also a nice boat roar that will take you to various sites along the river for 200 baht per person. The boat trip lasts for a couple of hours.

We loved Ayutthaya and the history but did find that out of all the locations we visited in Thailand that Ayutthaya was the most dirty and rundown. There were large areas of large garbage dumps and with that the associated smell. Drivers also seemed to be very impatient. We were extremely unhappy to see that elephant riding was still happening and with the extreme heat we felt beyond sad for these majestic intelligent animals. Ayutthaya needs to do better as does Thailand in general. We were also frustrated with the shear large number of people taking up space for long periods of time for their 'selfies'.

Great place to see lots of ancient stupa and prangs.
Great place to see lots of ancient stupa and prangs. The detail on them is not as good as at Phimai, but they’re an awful lot to see. I highly recommend getting a bicycle to be able to get around them all more easily and for cycling through the huge park areas, as well as for exploring the areas off the island.

I frequently travel Thailand for business and I've stayed at several hotels, Baan Thai House exceeded my expectations in terms of staff service and room. The staff were all polite, friendly, respectful, and very helpful. The food was good, the room and the view was great, and the location was ideal for the places I wanted to go to. The place was peaceful. The restaurant doesn't have a lot of food options but you can order Grab food easily; that's what I did when I wanted milktea. It was also easy to book Grab car.
I felt like I was welcomed as part of the family in Plus Hostel Ayutthaya. The lay-out of the place is so nice with the huge social area and dinner and breakfast together. It's super easy to meet people this way and I spent some great days there. The owners were also very helpful organizing transportation, giving recommendations about Ayutthaya as well as other parts of Thailand. Would defiantly recommend staying here when going to Ayutthaya !
The hotel is situated very close to the ruins, so it's only a short walk to the main historical park which makes travel very easy. The rooms were very clean and the bathroom and shower were equipped with everything we needed (body wash, conditioner etc). They have a little deck at the back that overlooks the river which was very serene. The free pain au chocolats was a great addition, and cafe was also nice.
Very nice Place. You have your own little hut with AC, Wifi and Fridge. It was perfectly clean und the breakfast was extraordinary compared to most accomodations in Thailand we had. You can also rent Bikes for free. These are very basic but perfectly fine to cycle around the temples of Ayutthaya and the rest of the city. The staff is really friendly and helpful.
The hotel is very well located and quiet, the small courtyard is very nice and relaxing. The rooms are very clean and have their own bathroom. The hotel manager gave us a very good welcome: free bike loan and advice to find the night markets and the main monuments. We will certainly come back here with other colleagues for our next Ayutthaya trip.
The staff is amazing, very friendly and joyful. Rooms and bathrooms are very clean.
The breakfast is the best one I've found in Thailand in an hostel so far and you can have during the day tea and coffe.
It's on the other side of the road of two of the main temples in Sukhotai and 10 minutes from the night market walking.
I had second thought when looking at the photos but to my surprise, this was one of my best stay throughout 2weeks cycling trip in Thailand. Comfortable bed, has all necessary amenities in room, super spacious, cold AC & hot water shower and most importantly its location is strategic yet it's quiet at night
Nice owners. It's like being in their house, but they really live next door. Nice common room, living room. They helped us book a tuk tuk tour for free, which was really nice. Doesn't feel like a hotel, but I liked it. Comfy bed in a simple room. Air con worked. Like staying at your aunt's house.
The staff was super nice, answering every questions and giving many typs regarding not only Ayuttaya if also how to travel around Thailand. The place is very pleasant and well located. Also they have rental bikes what comes very in hand in a city like Ayuttaya.
Very good spot next to the river. The hotel has one of the best view overlooking to the historical park on the opposite side. The breakfast with this view was excellent and we really enjoyed it. The room was very chic and comfy bed.
Overall, everything is very good. Polite staff, very good service, clean accommodations, convenient location for traveling. Not far from tourist attractions The hotel area is very shady and will definitely go back to stay again.
- Good rented bicycle
- Water dispenser is always full of water for refilled
- Free drinking bottle water per day
- Free instant coffee for breakfast
- I was allowed to keep some food in the hotel fridge.
- Friendly staff
The lady in the hotel was so helpful and kind. Close to the attractions. They have cycle rental and can arrange boat a trip in the evening. There are cafes around. The room is spacious. Can walk to night market.
Stylish, modern hotel. Lovely staff.
Delicious, large breakfasts.
Fantastic location convenient to all the sites.
Amazing views from the dining area and the river-facing rooms.
This hotel is typical Thailand style, but very clean and comfortable. Some of staffs can speak English well and very friendly and polite, so there is no stress during my stay.
The overall hotel design was fantastic especially the incredible brickwork.
The room was nice with good quality amenities. Didn't use the pool but it looks nice anyway.
I really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel was very clean and comfortable and the staff were fantastic and so helpful. Having the bicycles to access was perfect.
Great location close to many of the sites we wanted to see. Room had good AC and the garden area of the hotel is beautiful. We also felt very safe there.
