Room was spacious and clean. Internet was great. Peaceful with paddy fields view and fish pond. Kitchenette was great help for our family meal with stove, microwave, water dispenser and fridge. Local supermarket named ‘Saudara’ could find groceries. Laundry can be arranged with the hotel and it’s cheap. Very friendly and helpful staffs like Bonet and Pak Botak always with their smiling faces. Swimming pool is a great pass time for traveler with children.
Room come with tooth brush & toothpaste, miniature bottle shampoo & shower gel. NO toilet paper😅😅 room not clean up every. Our stay was 5 days & room make up only once. I would suggest the hotel to make up room every two days, to include toilet paper and hair dryer. Only 1 hair dryer so we have to share with other guests 😅😅😅
Hotel don’t have restaurant/cafe but Grab food was a great solution! Decent food & price, Grab rider was also very friendly and quick delivery.

Such a small and quiet city.
Such a small and quiet city. Some key highlights are as follows:
1. Great place to shop for furnitures.. their craftmanship skills are one of the best!
2. Hometown of the well known Indonesian woman hero: Kartini. Pay a visit to the museum, then you'll understand further that there are many unnamed heroes besides Kartini to succeed her fight..
3. Place for several white-sandy beaches.. Bandengan beach, which recently became so popular, has its charm.. Please help to clean up the plastics waste if you see it and don't litter too!
4. Has hidden gems of bungalows such as Seabirds and Rimba Desa.. More to explore!
5. Tenun troso is one of the best hand-weaved fabric.. One is never enough 😅

There is not really much reason to go to Jepara unless you're on the way to Karimunjawa or if you want to just be in rural Indonesia with nothing much to do. There also are a lot of teakwood furniture factories.
As we were just going to Karimunjawa, we didn't look around to much but we find a nice Thai restaurant south of the town called Yam Yam.
If you're travelling to Semarang to Jepara to take the ferry, allow plenty of time as the journey is very slow even though the distance is not too far.

City of furniture, very near place if you want to go to Karimunjawa Islands. Quiet city in crowded North Java. If you bored some hectic place like Semarang, you can travel to Jepara for just less than 2 hours to find good air and landscaping
amazing, clean and excellent way above average service. I can’t recommend this place more! We were treated like royalty (the service was amazing with a smile!) the food was superb and the room was perfect. I will be recommending this to everyone who comes to Jepara, staff were amazing and the owners are extremely lovely people - thank you Gecho country Inn for our best stay while in Java for 7 weeks (and we stayed at many more expensive places).
The room is very comfortable.. Very spacious and surprisingly very clean (bedsheet, floor, bathroom, kitchenette, everything is so clean although the outside area is garden) 10/10.. 🥰🥰
breakfast is good and the staff is friendly too..
This place is so perfect for couple or family who wants quality time, it is very quiet and away from the crowd..
15 mins from Jepara downtown, but you can order food online if you didn’t want to go outside..
We loved everything about this place. No surprise foreign tourists favour The Gecho Inn. Huge rooms, comfy beds, spacious, clean en-suite bathrooms. Surprisingly good on-site restaurant with huge range of dishes. Pool table, darts, fabulous coffee made in 60’s era espresso machine. As a family we can highly recommend The Gecho Inn. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else In Jepara.
We stayed with Peter before traveling to Karimunjawa. He and his wife were a big help. They helped us get the tickets for the ferry and to rent motorbikes. They also told us good spots to visit in Jepara. The stay was very pleasent and we really felt welcome and like home. On our way back we stayed another day in Jepara just to spent another night in the Garden House.
Very good place to stay with reasonable rate, the owners of the place are amazing and very welcoming (special thanks to Yolanda), you just cross a door to find yourself on the beach. I recommend the place for singles and couples, may not be that pleasant for kids.
Beautiful location just outside Jepara city and facing the waterfront. The villa is very well designed and comfortable. It has limited rooms so would not be too crowded, so very relaxing.
This hotel was perfect! We absolutely loved it! The staff is super nice and really helpful. The room was great. The breakfast was nice.
Also a recommendation is the food at yam yam!!
