As the financial capital of Switzerland and headquarters of several large companies including FIFA, there’s a good chance that if you’re in Zurich you’re here on business. But that doesn’t mean this city doesn’t have a playful side.
Known for its cleanliness and fresh air, it comes as no surprise that the luxurious ski resorts of the Alps are within an easy distance of both the city and Zurich Airport, which is only a 12 minute drive from the city center.
The center is also a fast-growing cultural hub, packed with art galleries and museums. The Swiss history museum is called Landesmuseum and the Kunsthaus houses some of the most important pieces of art owned by Switzerland. For an interesting combination of art and culture, check out the Fraumunster, a gothic church with window paintings attributed to Marc Chagall.
During the day, the Lindenhof hill offers a stunning vista of the heart of the old town, Niederdorf, which is filled with shopping avenues, winding alleyways and restaurants. At night the many club doors open offering a range of live music and DJs.

We had a day in Zurich in between our flights out to India.
We had a day in Zurich in between our flights out to India. Its a beautiful city but very expensive for eating and drinking. Even though January it was cold but crisp and we enjoyed walking along the lake seeing birdlife and beautiful scenery. We just love walking around the streets and coming across little cafes along the river leading up to the lake. If you're rich the Bahnhoffstrasse is full of fascinating shops. We love the Niederdorf street (old town) across the bridge from the Railway station where there is a variety of places to eat and we enjoy an authentic place like the Rheinfelder Bierhaus where the famous Laberli and Rosti is served at a reasonable price - for Switzerland anyway. (calf or beef liver with hash brown type potatoes)

A beautiful city to walk around, or take the plentiful public transport (trams and busses) which is cheaper to use than London transport!
The Lindt Home of Chocolate is worth a visit - just a short (20 min) boat ride down Lake Zurich is a good way to get there, else local bus.
This is undoubtedly not just the city for chocolate but also for fashionable clothes. However, eating out and shopping seems expensive compared to UK - more like the most expensive central London prices. You wonder how local Swiss inhabitants afford this on salaries similar to ours, until you learn that they pay much less income tax than we do!

Nice place to visit.
Nice place to visit. From Zurich, you may visit a few places outside and near Zurich. Is a busy town and some places are not open in the winter period. Try to book your stay near Trams station and make your trip easy. If you are staying in Switzerland only, fully recommend you purchase the Full Swiss Travel Pass it is convenient and saves cost especially if you plan to hop in most of the towns in Switzerland.

Only a couple of restaurants are open for food at weekends.
Only a couple of restaurants are open for food at weekends. German is the national language. It is a dusty crowded city and there are street beggars just like any other city. The Taxi firms are run by a "Turkish Mafia" who rip off tourists and take them on city tours to run up a bill. Do not use any taxis in Zurich, there is a perfectly good Tram service from the airport. Uber is recommended but never use a gleaming white taxi parked outside of the airport - the driver will rip you off.
Rental cars are surprisingly cheap, and I recommend hiring and driving your own car via Avis which is very reasonable. As an asthmatic I suffered from the poor air quality and needed to take ventolin at everyday (usually I dont need it). All hotels tend to use feather and down quilts and pillows which also dont help. All hotels change their prices daily to rip off the tourists, so we changed hotels frequently to get the cheaper introductory price. You wont get any value for money as the Swiss seem to have no idea of quality. There are far better places to visit like London and Paris, Monaco and any far Eastern City. The major Chinese cities make Zurich look retarded.

Lovely city. The old town walks are fascinating.
Lovely city. The old town walks are fascinating. The chocolate museum is also a place to visit. Wonderful city view from Uetliberg. Excellent public transportation. Vivid night life. The only disadvantage is the high cost of living.
I booked a single room, and in many hotels these can be very small. However, the room was spacious and also clean and comfortable. There is a lift, and a hairdryer can be requested from reception. The staff were friendly and the check-in/out process was quick and easy. The hotel is about a 5-minute walk from Zurich Wiedikon station, and there are trains which go directly to that station from the airport. The location is quiet, but there are plenty of amenities (restaurants, a supermarket, etc) nearby. I would stay there again.
Great hotel, great staff (particularly thanks to Ginevra at the reception), really worth to stay over if you are travelling or if you are doing a stop at the Zurich Airport. Not too far from the city and well connected, not only via taxi but also via Trams and Buses.
The breakfast was ok, I was expecting a few more option but the things that were available were superb.
The restaurant was very good as well, a one-time free drink is included!
Easy walking distance from train and bus stations, grocery and other shops around 5-10 minutes walk away.
Tram goes directly from Zurich Airport to just behind the hotel.
Comfortable room, very clean, sufficient storage space plenty of kitchen utensils including pans were provided.
Far enough from the heart of the city centre that nights were nice and quiet aside from occasional rumbling from trams.
Excellent location right next to Zurich station - we arrived very late from the airport and left on an early train, and it was a perfect hotel for that. The staff were very smiley, nice and welcoming. The room was nice and the bed comfortable (except for the pillows) and it was good value. I would say it was exactly as expected given what we were paying - no frills but perfectly decent.
Good location near train station, tram access to airport. Felt safe, in the neighborhood. Construction outside but navigable and not noisy in room. It's a budget hotel with worn amenities but great for a short stay in very expensive Zurich. We stayed left bags 2days and returned 1 night. Made our train tour easy.
The breakfast was reasonably priced and the host was exceptional.
Glad to have the help of friendly human staff for both check in and out, as the idea of a contactless hotel a bit off-putting. Bfast and housekeeping staff also pleasant. Fabulous shower and towels. Lots of pillows. Dyson Fan helped with crazy-hot weather, and room had enough space for luggage and movement.
Very close to back end of station near airport trains.
Location is perfect. Near restaurants and Bars if you want to go out at night.
McDonald's right across the street.
Close to Europaallee and Zürich HB.
24hs open store downstairs.
Guys are 100% supportive and super nice.
Massive difference on cost versus other hotels. If you are on short trip and not looking specifically for luxury, this is the right place.
This Zurich hotel was a walk of about 10 mins to the Lake and 15/20 mins to the Old Town limits. Good for airport/rail station. GREAT team - Ernesto and front of house, we were well looked after! Thank You. breakfast good/bar good. Contemporary room & great shower. I like a ‘quiet’ room and this was accommodated, room was v quiet.
Amazing hotel in city center, walking distance from any point of interest both business or pleasure. Staff is polite and helpful, willing to answer on any question and help however they can anytime. Rooms are very clean and comfortable.
We will definitely stay in this hotel next time when we visit Zurich.
Highly recommended.
The hotel is amazing, everything was very clean, the breakfast was vary reach in variety. The hotel is very close to the city center, I was basically walking everywhere all the time, but there is a tram station right next to the hotel, so it's easy to go further. Will gladly come back here during my next stays in Zurich.
It's the cheapest hotel with decent sized rooms, cleanliness and service in "downtown" Zürich, so this is why I picked it. Otherwise you either have either massively overpay (if travelling on a budget) or stay in a room the size of a cupboard in Altstadt on the other side of the river.
Dear Sir/madam,
I am back to Germany this week. I was there at the Hotel and I used the code but I couldn't enter the Hotel. so I had to go to IBIS Hotel in Zürich and pay twice the amount. so I am asking u to refund the booking fee.
best regards,
Great room with amazing views. Staff were very helpful if anything was needed in the room or any recommendations around town. Location was great, in a bit of a quiet residential area. Tram right outside the hotel runs to city centre and airport.
Great location. Very stylish hotel with a great breakfast. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Great bar with limited variety of snacks; there is no restaurant on the property. For what you get this is a great price in downtown Zurich.
The location of the hotel is very good near Lake Zurich and not far from the city center.
Near the hotel is a train station, which takes you straight to the international airport Kloten.
this hotel was great - the accommodation was fine- the breakfast also - it is an easy tram ride from the airport and a 10 minute walk to the centre of Zurich - staff polite and helpful
-Best and most elegent hotel in Zurich.
-Check-in was very smooth.
-Room are larger than average and very convenient with kids
-Parking is huge and extremly safe
Location was close to Zurich HB. I was given room facing Limmat River which was a cheery on top. Hotel staff was friendly and did their best as per our request
