We were in Bodo for just two nights and didn't wish to rush around, so we enjoyed exploring the waterfront and harbour area, watching the boats and taking in some of the restaurants and bars there. We arrived by train and left by plane - it was just great to be able to walk to the airport, which is close to the centre of the town yet we weren't disturbed by any noise from it during our stay.

Bodø is a charming, very walkable city where lots has been done to make streets accessible for pedestrians and cyclists. The city center (~ from the inner harbor to around Bankgata) is small, with a nice mix of new and traditional architecture and building styles. The streets have trees and wide sidewalks. The main shopping street, Storgata, is very nice and has a wide variety of shops that culminate in the Glashuset interior shopping area with the Koch Shopping Center attached.
I can recommend Nyholmen fort as a nice picnic spot with great view of the city - it's easy to reach it by bicycle. Also recommend the Jektefartsmuseum, which is about 4 km away from the city center.
On my next visit, I would stay a day or so longer and maybe get a rental car one or two days, to be able to go to Kjerringøy. But would also rent a bike again, as well, since getting around Bodø on bike is super easy.

The city does not offer anything special to see/experience.
The city does not offer anything special to see/experience.
The seashore is packed with huge hotels and other building plus boats thus have to go out of the city to enjoy the senery.
I believe most of the visitors use Bodo as transfer point to Lofoten.
City is clean and has all the necessary services available. Airport just a few minutes from the center.

Such a wonderful place, we loved the area and the lack of commercialism. We enjoyed exploring the town and the aircraft museum. We hired a car and visited Mjelle Beach up the coast and the maelstrom which I would highly recommend.

Small, friendly city. Lots of places to eat and drink.
Small, friendly city. Lots of places to eat and drink. Great natural attractions not too far away; like Saltstraumenbrua, with the fastest running water and whirlpools. Also, the Norwegian Avaition Musem in the noprth of the city is well worth a vist if you have an interest in aircraft and military history.

The aviation museum is very good with sections on military and civil aviation.
Bodo is a small place so we walked everywhere. Ther are Bird electric scooters and busses & taxis.
Pleasant clean place with posh hotels and nice waterfront and harbour.
We did come in late June and had great sunny weather: probably very different in the rain!
The room was clean and the beds were surprisingly comfortable. The location is superb if you're transferring through Bodø as the hostel is located directly above the train station and within a 5-minute walk from the ferry. The hostel provides laundry services, which was very helpful. Our room was quite small with bunk beds, but that was to be expected. There are several good restaurants, a small shopping mall, and a grocery store located within walking distance from the hostel.
Jinkie, the Filipina receptionist was very nice and accommodating.
Very near the main train station(infront of hotel).
Taxi from airport was about $25.
Breakfasts was good, coffee, tea, hot water available in dining area 24 hours.
Room we’ve upgraded was huge and comfortable. Since we had a bad experience in Tromso ( same chain of hotel), where we felt like we’re inside a can of sardine.
They also have a washing machine in the hotel.
The location is brilliant just next to the marina and a nice walk along the pier and quayside. The breakfast is outstandin, lots of choice, cozy atmosphere. The standard bedroom is reasonably big, no noise. Tea and coffee facilities inside the room but also in the lobby for guests to enjoy... This is a real plus. Egon restaurant which is part of the hotel is worth a dinner! The fish soup was delicious!
The "catch" for booking the Clarion was that price included not only breakfast but also Fika and light dinner.
Breakfast was excellent, staff looked after all the time that all items were available.
This traditional hotel is located in the heart of the city, next to the Glasshuset (covered shopping mall), close to public transport etc.
Very friendly and helpful staff at the reception.
Very friendly staff who prepared a to-go breakfast for us, as we had to check out very early the next morning. The hotel provides guests with waffles and soups in the evening for free in the small lounge area. Our room was fairly small, but comfortable and quiet. Nice location close to the commercial areas at the harbor in Bodo, and walkable to the airport in about 10-15 minutes.
This is a smaller hotel in Bodø not on the harbour front. A bit quaint with a tunnel between the two buildings, in one building modernization work is ongoing but did not disturb.
A very good breakfast and also the offer of soup and sandwiches in the evening at no cost as well as cake and coffee in the afternoon was an added plus. Very friendly staff.
For a one-night stay, this compact, clean and comfortable room was a good choice, in a hotel very close to the train station and walking distance to shops and restaurants. The breakfast included with our stay was good and the lounge area near the foyer was comfortable.
Perfectly decent rooms close to Bodø station and ferry port. It was quiet in September and we slept well. The shower has great water pressure which I have to praise; on the cold September evenings, it was a real treat. Everything you need for a short stay in Bodø.
I have stayed at many hotels in Bodø, both for work and for travel, and I have found that Comfort by far is the best value for money, in addition to having an incredibly kind and lovely staff.
We really liked the room, with the amazing view! The hotel has a very nice design and also the restaurant and the bar on the top has a great view above the city. We would absolutely come back.
The family room we stayed in was huge. All staff including the kitchen crew were very polite and courteous. The kids enjoyed it better here than the other high-rated hotels.
Cosy family-run hotel close to city centre. Spacious room, comfortable bed and reasonable view! Good Norwegian breakfast and very close to bus stops and other facilities.
The Hotel was clean and beautiful. The personal was always nice and helpful. I had the best sleep and the beds were sooo confortable!
The best part was the Breakfast!
Lovely hotel with great dinner and breakfast buffet. Super friendly and in a great position. We took the bicycle all day for free. Very good service. Highly recommend
