The receptionists were all lovely. The pool seemed clean and was a lovely reprieve from the heat. The rooms are a good size and beds were comfortable. Shower had a couple of hiccups but mostly worked well. We had a room on the end of the building and it was quiet. Breakfast was good. First two days included a buffet but when Ramadan started they only offered an option of one plate Asian or western breakfast, which was fine.
Located on Pangkor Island, Pangkor Laut Resort - Small Luxury Hotels of the World offers accommodations by the sea or with views of tropical gardens.

Difficult to give a detailed review as we arrived at the start of Ramadan which lasted a month
Most of the stalls and restaurants were closed as were the beach activities
Minimarket and duty free shops open
Daddy's cafe on coral beach was by far the best place for Western food and cocktails
The hotels mainly offered limited choices but mainly catered or Chinese and malays
Not too many people about apart from groups of indians and Chinese, a bit noisy at times so avoid.
Overall beaches were pretty deserted.
A few plastic bottles and rubbish washed up during the day but beaches were swept up each day
Cheap and easy to get around by taxi or motorbike
No public transport

have to rent chairs at the beach to sit and relax.
car rentals were abit expensive and they give us the car with reserve tank of petrol for the start.
motor bikes are convenient but dangerous of falling and injury during your holiday enjoyment unless u know to ride bike well.
all souveniers are expensive as this is a tourist island unless u are good at bargaining

Like the nature, serenity, wildlife, interior and architectural design. The buffet was good but the Chinese restaurant had been overrated. The Chinese cuisine was average. There wasn't any delicate fresh seafood which would be great to have on such a beautiful private island. In addition, you can't swim due to jelly fish. However, this wasn't a big issue as there was a pool right by the beach

An island with beautiful beaches which still maintains its nature. Not too commercialized and limited no of cars on the island reduces the pollution, giving you clean, fresh air.
Since the island is declared as free duty zone, overnight visitors have the option to shop for duty free items especially imported chocolate at a cheaper price than the mainland.
The island is also famous for dried anchovies (ikan bilis mata biru) which is most sought by Malaysians

Horrible, they charged me for an extra bed, which was the sofa in the room, they put cover sheet and pillow, around 65% of my reservation.
A bad waste water smell was always in the area in the garden villas, I feel like living in sewage factory, not in a hotel.
Beach is fine it just need to make a little walk from the property, would be better if can be access from the hotel undeneath the hotel make an access.Room need refurbish the carpet and the living room sofa and chairs outside the balcony.
If the room windows can be refurbish and make it lower so we can have a better view from the room.
Wardrobe room is a waste of space and should be turn to another room since the room chargers are high.
So family can join together.
The staff at this guesthouse were great. My bus to Lumut was very late so I ended up missing the last ferry to the island. I extended my stay and the owner gave me a free night to make up for the one I had missed, which was very nice. The manager always said hello and brought me some papaya as a gift. The value for money is great and the village it is in is really interesting - much more authentic than the other side of the island.
The location is really Nice with the garden and beautiful noises of the animals. The beach is just a few minutes walking. We think Teluk Nipah is the best town to stay on the island and if you are looking for a peaceful place, this accommodation is perfect! The room was clean and really liked the bed and sheets.
The swimmingpool is beautiful and the staff is super friendly! You can also rent a scooter from them.
We book 2 rooms, the rooms are understandably small as this is a budget hotel. The room that I stayed has issue with the aircond, but it is sufficiently cooling the room. The toilet is big enough and quite comfortable. The mattress is also comfortable. The hotel is clean. It is actually within walking distance to Pantai Bogak.
The property saved us from cancelling our trip to Pangkor when the original hotel cancelled our booking due to water supply problem and AVI hotel was not affected.
The staff that we met at the Reception were all great especially those that we could remember Ms Kuga, Mr. Wong & Ms Rina.
My colleagues and I had excellent stays here. The Utan's people are very helpful. They will recommend you in advance on accommodations, activities, and places to have lunch or dinner around Pangkor Island. It was very pleasant stay. Totally recommend it to other to check in here. :)
Loved the hotel! Very cheap, really good and regular cleaning, close to the center of the island. Could rent a scooter right across the street. Hot water in the shower. Had booked 2 nights, but stayed for additional 4 because we liked it so much.
the rooms are small but clean and with great WiFi, air conditioning and hot shower
the owner is incredibly helpful
the terrace is amazing.
location is good, you are 5 mins walking from coral beach, the best beach in pulau pangkor
-Comfortable cozy place.
-Suitable for huge family (enough beds for 10 people)
-Located at a quiet corner of the island (northern side)- May not be suitable for those preferring to be near restaurants or activities.
Well maintained hotel, staffs are very polite.
Car parking is always available.
Ironing available in each floor.
Right beside 24hrs 7-11,duty free shop. Walking distance to nearby seafood restaurant.
There was no toothbrushes available. Bed is not comfortable. Toilet towel is too thin. Air condition is not cool enough to occupy the whole room. Hope the hotel able to service the air con.
Property looks great, feels like a 5-star hotel. The rooms are spacious and have a cosy ambience. Also many choices for breakfast, the nasi goreng kampung is amazing!
Lovely views and the island is lovely. The staff were lovely especially Ali Asghar, Mohammad, Mizan, Niza. They all need a pay rise as they went above and beyond.
like the location which near to the beach & water activities and hotel staffs are so welcoming and helpful. hotel provides bikes to roam around the islands.
