Good roads for cycling, hardly any cars.
Good roads for cycling, hardly any cars. Good island for beach walks too. It's a small island (e.g. vs. Texel), for adults, a week on Vlieland would be too long unless you like to read many books and meditate. Many birdwatchers were visiting too.

Vlieland is a beautiful island.
Vlieland is a beautiful island. You must enjoy walking, biking and solitude. The town has everything you need, grocery, restaurants, some shopping. Many activities to choose from. There are miles of beaches with almost no one around.

Top place for families comprising of various generations (...
Top place for families comprising of various generations (from small children to seniors/grandparents) to explore island life, its biodiversity, dunes & beaches. Touring the island on bike combined with stops for beach walks / picnics and bird watching is highly recommended. Come with your own evening/night entertainment (books, games), though there are many places to eat and have a drink in the village of Oost-Vlieland.

The island is very beautiful and well preserved.
The island is very beautiful and well preserved. Because the cars are not allowed , it is very safe to bicycle and the air is very clean. The nature is well preserved : dunes , forest .. While the beaches are very nice , we noticed a lot of with/yellowish foam /mousse on the beaches due to eutrophication, which is an increase of nutrients in the sea. Eutrophication is mostly due to human activities, like industry and agriculture. This is a pity and I hope that the locals and the European union will take severe measures to save the beauty of the North sea beaches and islands;
I had a apartment with balcony . It was winter but the balcony is very small . The (Hästens)beds were too soft for me and a little bit too big for the bedroom the sitting room and kitchen was roomy. Not a big kitchen but ok for making breakfast and easy meal. No oven but microwave. Fridge had no freezer.
Overall a nice apartment and the hotel is in the middle of the dorpstraat . Shops are very close .
The staff were very friendly and helpful
The food was good and a nice choice
The beds were comfortable and the room was ok clean
There was a good selection for breakfast and it went very smooth even though the hotel was under the corona restrictions.
Swimming pool was ok, due to corona we had to reserve. Wellness centre we couldn't use as it was fully booked due to corona regulations.
We had the rooms with sea view and the view from there was exceptional. We all enjoyed the stay a lot. The breakfast was very standard and no complains there as well. The location is very close to the Ferry depot, two bus stops, shopping stores, restautents and of course to the sea. We also went there for birding and we did see many species quite close to this hotel.
Location, staff, restaurant and breakfast all were well. We enjoyed our stay a lot. It is a quiet hotel and offers all one needs. Lots of restaurants in the neighbourhood to choose from. Lots of stores to buy souvenirs.
Large living room, both central location and close to the beach, bike rental next door, very close to the ferry and to the village. We liked the hotel sauna, and the kind staff at the reception.
Beautiful island, hotel was close to ferry. Room was super clean and the reception service was excellent! We have engaged during our stay there, so we do want to back there one day.
Location is excellent, really close to the ferry station and all cafes, bike rentals. the backyard of the hotel was also really cosy, with access to the sea. pets are allowed
Great. 7km track starts next door. Beach is 0.5km away. No other hotels in the area. Stars at night - low light pollution. Feels fresh (built in 2004).
