the property and facilities is quite well. the furniture and some staff in rooms are pretty old and should be properly maintained or even better renewed. in some rooms tropical shower didn’t work.

Located in Houjie Town, HJ International Hotel features upscale accommodations with well-equipped modern facilities and elegant décor.

Clean - although I did have to change rooms as despite wanting a non smoking room, my first room smelt strongly of smoking - once I got to my next room, it was clean + a good size. The staff have little to no English which made communication difficult, however they did try very hard + had access to a translation app which helped.

    I love the area in Chang'an.

    I love the area in Chang'an. I have been coming to this location for years. Location of hotel to all the things you needs is perfect. I like eating and living on the economy in this city of China. I know I could move here and live very easily. Eating there is easy, my favorite spot is the Park Lane Park and temple. Very nice walking paths and people friendly.

    Hope the transportation system around Human be improved more, example get mass transport system extension to Human, and more easy to book the ferry from Human to HK Airport. (Even local people cannot book on line, hotel can book instead, but: 1) RMB 50 more expensive than web display; 2) informed no more seat available but web show there still was

    Excellent staff through out the hotel, the clean, spacious...

    Excellent staff through out the hotel, the clean, spacious and quiet room plus an extra comfortable western bed made the stay enjoyable. Hotel is conveniently located to eating places. The only small criticism is the breakfast could be improved but definitely will stay again.

    For those who stick to their Western food, there are some...

    For those who stick to their Western food, there are some amazing restaurants (Pauly's Kitchen, Alan's World and Al Chile) and grocery stores (Jay's Deli, Oliver's Deli). Its easy to walk around the Dongcheng district but also easy to catch a Didi (taxi). We visited Escape Spa and had a really nice couples package.

    There is a wide variety in Dongguan.

    There is a wide variety in Dongguan. Everything from very cheap local cuisine to high end Western restaurants. One for the Road is a very popular English pub with both locals and expats. Other places include Murray's Irish Pub, Grateful Q (American) and Al Chile (Mexican). For a prefecture city it's very cheap to get around, with taxis starting at about a third of Shenzhen or Beijing prices.

    Great for international travellers.

    Great for international travellers. The staff are very helpful and polite with good english skills. The rooms are great by global standards and the breakfast is fantastic for any Western traveller with many options. Not just Chinese cuisine.
