Staff are super helpful, they even helped with charging our EV overnight using a 3 phase caravan plug. Came with a small fair and reasonable payment.

The property was really beautiful. Everything was very organised and well thought out, with comfort in mind. The hosts and staff were kind and welcoming. We loved feeding all the animals. My boys said it was the best day of their lives!

The town is worth a look around, particularly if you are interested in Australian history. A walk down Sheridan St is well worthwhile.
Poets Corner Motel is good as an overnighter or perhaps a couple of nights although the current owners have not opened the restaurant.
There are other options, including the Criterion Hotel.
Petrol was cheaper by 10c per litre than most other sites I saw in NSW.

It was my second stay and will book nxt week for my trip home.
The staff are extremely helpful and nothing is a bother.
My room was spotless and had all the amenities I needed.
Also it is in a great location, being close to supermarket and restaurants.

Very disappointing.
Very disappointing. Got to town at 3pm on a Friday afternoon and the entire town was shut and nothing to be found except a rather dark pub with awful coffee. Absolutely nothing to do. The one great thing was the restaurant the Little Blue Ducks at Tumut which was exceptional. I would stay there rather than Gundagai.

It was clean and basic.
It was clean and basic. Parking is directly in front of the room and it’s all on the ground floor . I had a room for a stopover driving between Sydney and Melbourne and the return journey. I paid the same price for the night but the 2nd stopover the room only had a kettle ( no microwave like the first) and was situated near the laundry so I could hear the washing machines for several hours that night -

This small town is charming.
This small town is charming. Located among hills with wonderful views from the upper area.interesting architecture well documented on a historic walk guide
Helpful information provided at several key sites about buildings, events or customs eg the gathering round the local group of First Nation peoples Easy walking in the main street, a car to tour the town for grand old houses.
highlights are the restored railway station and the museum which covers a lot of ground
We self catered from an excellent Woolworths, coffee and buns from the main street

Gundagai is an old historic town that we visited for 2 days.
Gundagai is an old historic town that we visited for 2 days. We explored the old gaol which was a self guided tour with audio headphones that you paid and picked up from the information centre. It was very interesting. We also visited the pen museum which showed all the old pens over the years and the gentleman there told us about how he came to get volume 1 of The Age it's the only one in existence it had nearly been thrown out to the tip. Be warned he does like to talk but was worth the visit.
As usual the room was excellent. It was spacious. The bed was very comfortable. The air conditioning excellent and quiet. The kitchenette makes preparing food and cleaning up an easy process. Despite the freeway being fairly close, the rooms are very quiet. Jenny does her best to ensure we have our favourite room and we're grateful to her. The Caltex service station across the road is useful for basic food items. And Woolworths is just a short drive into Gundagai.
The tourist suites in Gundagai were 3C. That is Clean, Comfortable and Cheap. Spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable and half the price of even a modest hotel. We wouldn’t dream of staying anywhere else en route to Melbourne from Sydney. It’s the little things that count, too. Fresh milk in a large fridge, crisp clean sheets, power sockets next to the bed head, coffee maker supplied, bathroom heater. And did I say that everything was spotless?
The rooms were exactly how they are pictured, with air-conditioning and ensuites. The pool has a toddler area which was great for myself and my daughter. Surrounded by beautiful hills and mountains and lovely staff! A real family friendly environment. We ended up staying for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Also dog friendly! We left ours at home this time but if we're ever in Gundagai again we know where to go 😊
Whilst this is an older style hotel room it is extremely clean and thoughtful inclusions made it a much nicer stay than we had assumed. The shower was incredible, great water pressure and loads of hot water. A very comfortable bed that had an electric blanket and air conditioning that kept the room toasty warm meant that our overnight stay from Melbourne to Newcastle was very restful and comfortable.
We chose the Criterion as we weren’t able to book a motel at short notice in Gundagai. many years since we stayed in a “pub” with bathroom down the hall but we were pleasantly surprised by our room and facilities. chose to eat in- house for dinner and it was good. a hook or rail near basin in bathroom would be useful for damp towels. thanks for a quiet comfortable stay.
Cabins all had space between them. Front deck spacious, generous size to sit at table and chairs. We didn't use the undercover parking for caravan/ campers. Each had their own amenities block. Public barbeque area looked well maintained. There is an ample camping area at the public swimming pool end of property. Easy after hours check in.
Great location. Walk into Gundagai cbd. Everything was clean and comfortable.
I would like someone from the motel/hotel industry to explain why they put towels and soaps on the bed. Don’t most people use towels and soap in the bathroom? It is a puzzle I have thought about for ages. Maybe it is just tradition - who knows?
Location in south Gundagai is a short drive from the main town centre. Old, retro motel with comfortable room, The room had everything needed for a short stay including fridge, microwave, and good TV. Pleased that the windows opened wide to get the fresh air. Wish there had been time to swim in the above ground pool!
Handy to town & shops, pubs, clubs & restaurants. The motel unit is large & airy but well insulated from outside traffic noise from the Hume Hwy. It being mid winter when we stayed but we were warm & cosy. Very comfortable.
Sweet little pub with a great outdoor setting - excellent parma! The accommodation was basic, but everything that you need for a night or two. Comfortable, quiet, good heating in the room
Location very convenient to Hume Motorway, bed and pillows comfortable. Kitchenette with microwave, toaster, kettle, large bar fridge (larger than most hotels) - and even a teapot!
This is a lovely hotel, ideally located between Melbourne and Sydney. The room had all you needed plus more. It was very clean and Ronny the Manager was welcoming and informative.
Wattle Tree Hill is located on the outskirts of Gundagai. We had a lovely view of the countryside and the studio cabin was well presented and comfortable.
