I did not go into Calliope.
I did not go into Calliope. Went straight to motel just off the highway, arriving after five. The only other feature was a service station with a common driveway. Next morning returned straight to the highway and continued my journey, stopping for breakfast at Gin Gin.AAnonymous - 8.0Scored 8.0

I stopped at Calliope for an overnight stay on my drive between Brisbane and Townsville. It directly spans the Highway, although the sound of traffic is not an issue. I didn't explore the area as it was a pure travel break, however, I did go to the grocery store area to get some supplies. It has all the features of suburb living, and is essentially a satellite town to Gladstone.ElizabethAustralia - 10Scored 10

I spent three days in Calliope as I was attending a family party. A nice quiet friendly town and easy to find your way around. Stayed at Comfort Inn Parklands Motel which is great value accomodation and motel offers good value meals for dinner & breakfast.
