This is a great, very small town that makes a great stay to see the Fiordlands. Stay at a location with a view of the lake. Activities from here are a great choice. The lake and mountains are beautiful and eat at the Ranch, best place we ate on both islands.

A lovely place and central to attractions with easy access to Doubtful Sound. Really glad we missed out on Milford Sound as the trip to Doubtful was amazing. Did the Glow Worms tour which was wonderful.

Itis a very pretty town. It is a perfect place to stay if you are planning to go to Milford Sound. The drive to Queenstown is also spectacular. The are a lot of options for price in accommodation and meals.

We stayed a bit longer in Te Anau to do a bit of hiking.

We stayed a bit longer in Te Anau to do a bit of hiking. It's a small town, so easy to get to know quickly. The nicer restaurants need a reservation, and it seemed when we went that quite a few restaurants were short-staffed. If dining is important to you, check out where you want to eat a few days beforehand.

Te Anau has much to offer from tramping on nearby trails (Kepler) to Jet Boating with Fiordjet who provide more than just a blast up the river the pilot also tells you about the river, lake and surroundings. Plenty of places to eat and drink and an evening walk along the lake is devine.

Good sized town with two supermarkets and four service stations for fuel. Picturesque setting next to the lake. Raining during our arrival but did fine up the next day. Many accommodation options. Approximately 2hour drive to Milford Sound for day cruise of about 2hours then return to Te Anau easy to do from here.

Village Inn is a basic Motel. It is a good economical option for self drivers wanting to stay in Te Anau. There is plenty of free parking right in front of the room. The location is easy to find. Village Inn is not located in a scenic part of town. But, it is a short walk to the lake front or dining on the main street area. The room was larger and nicer than we expected.

I had a comfortable stay at Te Anau Lakeview Kiwi Holiday Park. Everything was very basic, but I expected as much going in. Wifi was strong. Everything was clean. Communication was clear. I slept well there. When I accidentally locked myself out of my room, getting a back-up key was simple. Easy come, easy go. I'd return.

The location was phenomenal, and the rooms were exceptionally clean. The delicious breakfast menu offered a ton of options. Hosts Sarah and John were incredibly hospitable, providing us with numerous suggestions for places to visit and dine. I highly recommend High Leys Lodge for anyone considering a stay in Te Anau!

Excellent breakfast and dinner facilities. Clean and well-organised laundry facilities. In the heart of Te Anau and very close to the information centre, which is the departure spot for many great attractions. The staff were very friendly and accommodating despite the Covid restrictions.

This motel was a great find. Large lounge area, well eqipped kitchen and bathroom and comfortable beds and pillows. John in reception and the other staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Location was great for all amenities in Te Anau. The lake itself was glorious to swim in.

It's not a far walk to the bird sanctuary, which is well worth doing. Also not far to walk to the town centre. We had a pretty cool view of lake Te Anau from our studio which was a bonus. Only downside was the wifi that kept crashing, but we are on holiday anyways :-)

The motel is situated very conveniently to everything in Te Anau. It's just a short drive to one of the major attractions in the area, the starting point for Doubtful Sound and the Te Any glow worm caves. It's also a good spot for taking a day trip to Milford Sound.

The location is very central and near the lake. The host was very friendly and her team keeps the Lodge in good order. The garden in the front is beautiful and captivated my wife and daughters :) Would recommend to families doing a short stay in Te Anau.

Perfect place to stay in Te Anau. We stayed for 2 nights and couldn't fault anything. Lovely room, great facilities, very comfortable beds and who could argue with the view. Perfectly placed for a walk to the centre or a walk to the bird sanctuary.

good value for money. on the cheaper side of motels so I did not expect the Hyatt. stayed in a unit for 4 people at the back (by where the motor homes are parked). Close to town, quiet and the room was clean and tidy.

Tasman Holiday Park is family friendly, shops and restaurants is a short 8-10 minute walk. The facilities are quite good, they also have hot tubs and a sauna. Lake Te Anau is right in front and great for a morning jog.

Good motel conveniently located near centre of Te Anau. Pretty comfortable, good facilities. Guest laundry is helpful but needs $1 and $2 coins and no staff were present on site to provide change.
