Skopolos was beautiful, probably our favourite Greek island.
Skopolos was beautiful, probably our favourite Greek island. There were however much better beaches with better restaurants further down the coast. Transfers from Skiathos are easy and the bus service to several excellent beaches and skopolos town is very reliable

The port of Loutrakion is small but Glossa is really worth visiting. There are a lot of small streets where you can get amazing sea views and can wander around the houses on the hill side. A couple of very lovely taverns and shops, a lot of supermarkets as well. Definitely recomend this area if you’re looking for a quiet area with great views!

Lovely port with nice, village feel to it.
Lovely port with nice, village feel to it. Although its a port, the ferries are only arriving a few times a day.
Seven restaurants in the village were open when we were there (early June) serving Pizzas and snacks to Fish Restaurants we visited most and the food was excellent, as was the service and staff, Artemis Taverna was our favorite, providing local food with daily specials. Try the baked feta and the grilled 'shrimp' with the Skopelos Cream Pie to follow. Superb.
You will need a taxi to get to Glossa in the summer months - too hot to walk, we walked it once - 67 flights of stairs later!! We did take the long way up though, easy to walk back down.
Small, but well stocked Supermarket.
Nice clean natural beaches, lots of small coves along the waterfront, clear water, great for snorkeling.
Lovely friendly people.
Lots of villas dotted around, car would be essential if you were using self catering.
Ferry tickets are available from the ticket office, ferries are very easy to use to get to Skopelos main town and Skiathos Island.
Taxi rank if you don't have a car - take a card for use throughout your stay if you don't hire a car you can just call and they will drop you off/collect you - we used Giannis and he was brilliant. Cost about 40 euros to go to Skiathos one way by taxi. Its a small island so you are only about 20 minutes maximum from the main organised beaches.
The bus service is also excellent, the times on the bus stands are the times the bus leaves Loutrakis. They are a bit confusing.
Will definitely return.
I absolutely loved this place. Sitting at the balcony overlooking the quiet port and arriving ferries was quite a way to relax. It is a beautiful place to watch sunsets. It may be not obvious but there is a direct way through the buildings below the hotel to the beach. I liked much white and brown colors of the spacious studio. I have been travelling a lot for many years. That place will stay at the top of the relatively long list of my former places for sure. I will come back there one day hopefully with my wife or friends.
The owner, Antonios is an amazing host. He and his wife will do anything to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. The rooms are very modern and comfortable. The view to the port is unforgettable, the food is amazing. It's much better staying in Lutraki than in Skopelos city. Loutraki is less crowded, much more peaceful and friendly. You do need to have car/scooter to get around the island . Antonios helped us get a great deal with a scooter and really helped us with everything we needed.
We stayed at the hotel for 10 days, It was perfect clean, every day they clean the room. The owner is very polite, He is so unobtrusive, but always there, when we looked for him. The place is very quiet, with a wonderful view to the sea and the port. The air smells of pine forest. The beach, cafe, supermarket and taverns are at 1-2 minute distance. We loved to sit and watch comings and goings boats. If there was an awning on the terrace, we could stay day long there.
Antonis and Andromachi were excellent hosts! Their hospitality made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived to the hotel. They were very attentive, helpful and friendly, and kept us company for the rest of our stay. Antonis gave us a tour of the island and helped improve our experience there. We really loved the whole island and its stories. Our trip was wonderful and we will definitely be coming back here.
Stunning location up on the hill over Loutraki port, with great views. It was within walking distance up the hill from the small town with restaurants and the sea, for swimming. And the bed was comfortable. There was also air-conditioning, which was a blessing in the heat. The owners are lovely and friendly people. Fresh linen and towels were provided every 2nd day.
This is one of the best hotels ever.
Sitting on the large balcony and looking at the breathtaking views of the Lutraki port at dusk is a dream.
The owner, Antonios is a very nice person and it was a great experience sitting and drinking wine on the balcony with him.
Our room was their large room with the large balcony.
Located up the hill close to the ferry port of Loutraki, the apartment is well equipped and features a huge terrace with outstanding sunset view over the Aegean. Abundant greek breakfast is included and there is a private parking at the house. Thank you for a very relaxed stay :)
Very clean and cozy property , specious , very close to Loutraki port , everything in a walking distance. Glossa also very close with an amazing view . Mr Chris and Mrs Georgia the nicest people we ever met !! Very helpful and informative in everything !
We had a huge balcony with a splendid view. The room was very nice and obviously the owners had paid a lot of attention to details. All good! Breakfast was great and the bed was super comfy. I really recommend this hotel!
Beautiful, unbeatable views from the window and balcony, a big spacious room, including a big kitchenette, and wonderful hosts (Babis and Spiros). We loved our time at Hotel Selenunda!
The hotel is beautiful and everyone is extremely friendly and helpful! They provide a great breakfast every morning with a beautiful view by the water!
