Rodi Garganico is a relatively small town in the northern...
Rodi Garganico is a relatively small town in the northern part of the Gargano Peninsula. Although there are tourists, it doesn't feel overcrowded. Also, most of the tourists are Italian. Only a handful of tourists from other nations are to be found. The locals are genuinely nice, the food is great, and although we visited the town the second time this year, we were able to find new restaurants, bars, locations, and have a great time. There are shops of all sorts, and one can find everything necessary. There are also other nice towns and locations near by, like Pescici and Vieste, or the Lake Varano. Hiking is possible in the not so far Gargano National Park. The best part of the village is the beachfront, the "Spiagga di Levante". It is protected by the harbor from bigger waves, so the water is very calm and clear. It is perfect for swimming, but for just enjoying the water in general as well. A nice location is the harbor. Don't be afraid to go and visit it during the night time. There are restaurants, shops and bars which I highly recommend. Rodi is a town, with whom my biggest problem is the distance from my home town. I hope to visit it next year as well.

A very nice village. Try to stay at the older parts. There is some really good food, and very nice people, however, one could tell, that there are some tourist-oriented action going on. The location is quiet, but we always found something interesting going on. The umbra forest is just an hour away by car, the beach is rather cheap, and very nice (warm water, animators to take care of you and your children), there are also some shops, and generally, it is not that expensive, as the bigger, more frequent tourist locations generally are.GabrielSlovakia
