Nothing to see except nearby shrine on tophills with stunning view of the town. Proximity to few Karen tribe villages.
Besides that the town itself has nothing to offer. No life on streets and most of business closed after 8 pm.

Mad Hong Son is beautiful.
be aware that forest fires burn in February a d March spoiling the views.
We loved sitting on the balcony of the coffee bar restaurant looking over the lake and night market.
The food was very good there.

I did the famous Mae Hong Son loop on scooter for 3 nights/4 days and it was perfect. People tend to stay in Pai for a few days to make it a little longer, but since I didn't like Pai, one night stay was perfect for me.

We had three days in MHS the ( Dec31-Jan 3) New years eve down by the lake in the town was great. So much going on and people everywhere. Good food stalls and market every night and i recommend eating at the Good View resteraunt by the lake. For anyone who's trip in MHS is due to riding the Mae Hong Son Loop , this is the town to get your souvenier t-shirts, stickers etc. All in all Mae Hong Son is a great place to visit for a few days .I also recommend taking the side roads off the main Loop road.

Such a laid back, friendly place.
Such a laid back, friendly place. If you are near the small lake you are near what you need. Killer night market. This is maybe my 10th night market in Thailand and maybe my favourite. Good food and cheap. Beautiful setting at night along the lake. The viewpoint on the mountain is fantastic. Walk up the stairs and earn the view. Behind the Wat is a cement road going up and this is where you can look out to Burma. Rent bikes and make your way out of town, cross the Pai River and explore the roads. Great easy cycling. Biggest obstacle is the heat. We are both in our early 60’s and had no issues. Come for 3 days and stay for 9 like us if you can. The best Chicken Khao Soi can be had at Khaw Soi Panoon. Also check out the morning Market 😍
Just out of town (few minutes driving distance from the center), the location and value at The Crossroads House is hard to beat. We stayed here one night during our 5 day trip around the Mae Hong Son Loop and it was one of the cheaper places we stayed but also one of the spots we got the most value.
The hostess was really friendly though we didn't take advantage of the opportunity where they teach you to cook your own Thai dinner for 60 baht. I'm sure it would only have increased the value of our stay.
Cute little cottage in semi-rural area in the outskirts of town.
Very well equipped. Airco, shower and fridge work well.
We loved sitting on our little porch with a cold drink overlooking the green area and with the neighborhood dogs playing around.
You will need your own transport to go to the center of town. It's about 10 minutes on the motorcycle.
Mae Hong Son has a lovely night market and some very nice places to eat and drink around it.
We enjoyed our stay very much!
The room we had was lovely- it was spacious, airy and comfortable with excellent amenities like a fridge, hairdryer, kettle (with free coffee) and toiletries too. We were left 2 bottles of free water each day. The main walking street along with nice restaurants are within a 5 minute walk from the property. The family that run the guesthouse are so welcoming and hospitable! We would definitely stay here again if in Mae Hong Son!
I really enjoyed the time at this hostel. Pon was amazing. She makes the vibes like home. Cozy and comfy. Mae hong son is already relaxing and staying this place is even more chilling. You'll love it. Plus, the best part is that we cook together every evening. I made lots of cool friends who have good vibes while chopping vegetables. If you're looking for a relaxing hostel. Crossroads house is the best option!
A brilliant small hotel set just outside the centre but an easy walk into town. Jasmin was a very helpful and welcoming host and spoke good English. We were lucky enough to have the whole upstairs verandah to ourselves, which included a small kitchen, two large tables and even rocking chairs! The rooms were large and the bed moderately comfortable.
It was just perfect!!
I loved my stay at Saiyud Hostel and I could have staid longer!
The owners are just super kind and very sweet. The dormitory is the cleanest I have ever seen, it is modern and the rooms are minimalist, all that I love! Really liked the city too, very peaceful, just everything was perfect! Thank you so much!
This hotel is incredible. You basically live in a luxurious hut in the middle of a "jungle" and rice fields. The pool facing the rice fields is the best thing ever. The sunset there is just from another world. The staff is also very nice and they even have great breakfast, lunch and dinner options.
Great value place!
Very close to the Lake and the local night market.
Staff was very friendly and allowed us to store our luggage the whole day because our bus was leaving very late!
Everything is decorated very nicely and they had some of the most comfortable beds I have slept in in Thailand.
Shangsin House is very clean, the staff is friendly and the bed was extremely comfortable for such an affordable stay. Very good value for money and everything you need in Mae Hong Son is reachable by walking max 15 minutes. The street itself has a bar and some restaurants which is great.
This is one of the most memorable stays on our five years of travels. Expect serene eco huts next to nature, solid wi-fi, cute dogs, surprisingly soft beds for Asian standards and a lovely host. A perfect stop on the Mae Hong Son loop, wish we could have stayed longer.
Very new and nice looking resort with a big rice field and flower garden. Nice view of the mountain from the porch! The rooms are large, quiet and private. Staff are very friendly and helpful. 15 minute walk to the Mae Hong Son night market.
Great hotel in Mae Hong Son. Easy to find, right on the main road, but just far enough out of town to be quiet and relaxed (but still easy to get into down). Beautiful reception, friendly staff, lovely rooms with all the necessary amenities.
My girlfriend said it was the cleanest hotel in Thailand. And we stayed at some nice places.
Food is grown in the property. Everything is home made and made from scratch. Nothing is more authentic than this Family Run Bed and Breakfast.
We stayed at Jungle guest house for one night on our Mae Hong Son loop. It was how we expected it and good step. Our host was very nice, the bungalow was ok, clean and the bed was comfy. We generally enjoyed our short stay.
Beautiful location and views from the room, really friendly and welcoming team, came with a mosquito net for the bed which is a first for my stays in Northern Thailand and very welcome! Highly recommend staying here!
The hotel owner showed us a local map and recommended walking to the local temple for sunset- it was wonderful. We also arranged a ride and a tour to some places on the way to Pang Mapha- it was fantastic.
Simple hotel in a very central location. People at the reception were very helpful and super nice, always smiling. They helped us in arranging our tour by bike to the border with Myanmar.
