The pool looked clean but we didn't use it. The breakfast was good - lots of fruits, eggs, sausages + Asian options. The room was huge , clean and comfy, lots of electrical outlets to plug in our chargers. Easy walk to Borobudur and restaurants. Grab drivers knew where it was located. The lounge area near the pool was nice. We thought we were the only Western tourists staying at the hotel when we were there. The staff was superb and very accommodating.

Everything about our stay was wonderful. The host and family were very friendly and helpful.
Very close to Borobudur. The host helped with an early morning ride to go get tickets and also had bikes to get to and from the temple. Siska even told us how much it would cost to park the bicycles which was extremely helpful when bartering with the attendant. We still paid tourist prices but it wasn’t nearly as bad as it could’ve been.
She also assisted us with organizing our visit to Prambanan and onward, as well as provided us some options for seeing the rest of the sites we wanted to on Java.
The food was delicious, the bed comfy and the location perfect.
We would stay again.

Why did I wait so long to visit? A true surprise. Not as tourist-geared as Ubud/Bali. Authentic, catering to local domestic travellers, yet with a world class heritage attraction. Friendly locals, though the touts selling souvenirs did get annoying.

I returned to see Borobodur after 31 years.
I returned to see Borobodur after 31 years. It was as impressive as it was the last time. Everything around the temple is much better organized and channeled through the officials.
Still an amazing thing to do - I would recommend to read up on Borobodur before your visit to better understand all the stories behind it and its place in the Javanese and South East Asian history.

The information given by the guide is good and interesting, despite the fact that I am a Buddhist, there is much to learn from this trip. The thousand years old structure is just awesome but I must stress that anyone who wants to visit must do a little "home work" by reading up about Candi Borobudur , otherwise you might not catch some of the meaning behind the Candi and Buddhism. The Candi is fragile due to thousands of visitors and I urge everyone to visit with care and respect.

Borobudur temple is always so grand to look at and enjoyable in early morning or late afternoon. The history within the walls are just mesmerizing to look at.
After 9 am until around 3pm and on clear day, the sun gets too hot.
Having hats or umbrellas and plenty of water and sunscreen might help. But they won't stop the swarming sellers, before the entrance and after the exit, coming at you. So just be firm and polite and keep on walking if you do not want to buy anything from them. But if you do want to buy some souvenirs, you could bargain to a reasonable price.
I suggest to have a walk to the entrance stairs of the temple and don't forget to wear your comfortable walking shoes too.
This time around we took delman or horse carriage for around 5 minutes ride (less than 10 mins ride for sure) to the entrance stairs of the temple and, if not wrong, it cost around AUD20.
They also provide other services like train cars for a fee (can't remember how much), but I think it is better to hire them when you finished touring the temple and when your legs are too tired or when it's just too hot. Unless you want to explore the other facilities around (on the way to the exit) like checking out their museums and theatre.
You are not allowed to bring food or snacks into the temple complex (water is allowed). They will keep them for you to collect at the exit. So make sure you have enough food before going in.
We've never been to their restaurant/hotel in the complex, because there are plenty of choices of food just outside the complex.
For getting around outside the complex, in general, there are too many cars and motorbikes around the area, so you may want to keep walking on whatever pedestrian path available.
Cash is still preferable in the food chains and stalls outside the temple complex

Ofcourse its one of the things to see when your travels take you close to it. But it is a tourist trap. You can go in from 8.00 in the morning (not earlier anymore, like before you could go for sunrise, that is not possible anymore). You have to take a guided tour if you want to go up. The guide tells a lot about the history and is well trained. The costs are 500.000 rupiah pp. if you only walk around at the bottom it’s 350.000 rupiah. Before you leave the park you are guided through a fairly large market with touristy souvenirs.

The temple of Borobudur needs no review, it stands on his own.
New visiting rules (on 11/04/2023). Closed on monday. Reception opens on 06.30, but only for the parc. At 08.00 you can buy a ticket to go on the temple, and waiting till 09.00. Then they formed little groups of 15-20 people to go on the temple with a guide ! Visit lasts about one hour.
The property is located close to Borobudur, it’s very green and quite. They have large garden. You can rent ATV there, even though we didn’t use it. The staffs are very helpful and friendly. Our air conditioner remote didn’t work and the staff immediately changed it. The water pressure is strong and they have hot water. They provide Indonesian breakfast and we enjoyed it. The parking lot is large enough. They provide clean towels, toothbrush, soap and shampoo.
It was very clean and had all the things a traveller needed, like soap, tooth paste, towels, coffee, tea and a big flask of hot water! It was a very short bike ride from Borobudur! After a tiring visit to Borobudur temple, i was able to have a hot bath and some tea and relax with the TV!
The owner Habiba was very helpful and kind! When my Gojek app did not work she called a taxi for me via Gojek and I paid her the 120K IDR to get to bus station!
We loved this hotel! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is really tranquil with a view over the rice fields and Borobudur in the distance. The room was really well furnished and we enjoyed breakfast on the terrace. There are also bikes you can rent to get into the town area but you can also order a grab taxi on the app. *Just a note for visiting Borobudur if you want to climb the temple, book you ticket online in advance*
The high hotel rates also include admission fees to the top of the Borobudur Temple, breakfast and afternoon tea, which is really value for money. We do not have to queue up to buy tickets for our visit to the Stupas/top of the Borobudur Temple. This made our visit here worry-free! The garden and the park are beautiful with lots of fresh air. The environment is wonderfully relaxing!
Modern villa was very nice with a magnificent view of the mountains from the garden. Lovely koi pond and outdoor patio. Nice bed and tv was fine.. but not enough time to try out the bathtub! In room dining - Iga Bakar Sapi was awesome !
Breakfast was on a la carte order.
We tried the horse rides..Nice.
Drop off and pickup from the temple was good. Wonderful driver ☺️
It has a great location by the rice paddies and only five minutes drive from Borobudur Temple. It was so quiet. The staff was very helpful and hospitable. I had to leave very early to catch the flight and one of the staff prepared a breakfast basket in the morning just for me to eat on the way to airport. Appreciate it.
The hotel is close to the Borobudur at about 5 min walking. For me the main reason to stay here was the closeness to the temple to visit early in the morning. However since the the Borobudur only opens around 8am now, a taxi from Yogyakarta and back is during covid maybe a better option. The pool was great though!
Charming private room overlooking land/rice field with a view of a mountain. Beautiful breakfast was served on our front patio with this view.Kind hosts that organized an amazing village tour with very little notice. Only a 5 minute walk to Borobudur temple. Many many eating options just a short stroll away.
I have used many hotels until now. This homestay was the best I have ever been treated to. I achieved all of my goals during my stay. The staff responded to my requests in a timely and cost effective manner. I highly recommend Borbodour. However, I would be in trouble if I could no longer use it.
Friendly smiles from the local people. Attentive staff with good service makes you feel warm. Traditional and characteristic hotel architecture. The most amazing is the stunning view outside the window. It is a wonderful and spiritual place you must stay in Borobudur.
This hotel was excellent! It exceeded my expectations. The room was really nice and comfy, the design was beautiful. Staff was very attentive. Breakfast and dinner was perfect. They provide bicycles to explore the area. WiFi was great. Would stay here again.
the best location, only 10 minutes walking to the Borobudur temple. the staff are supper friendly and helpful. The room was clean. the breakfast was excellent! we really enjoyed staying the Omah and highly recommend to everyone.
Beautiful bungalows in a magical rice paddy setting, a short bike ride from Borobudur temple. Bikes were free of charge. We really appreciated the wonderful staff, who helped us with train bookings and helpful local tips.
Plataran Heritage Borobudur is a modern place to stay with traditional touch.
We so much enjoyed the 1 hour morning walk around Karangrejo village with guide (Mas Prayogo) arranged by Plataran.
Friendly staff, amazing resort and bungalows, perfect service (nothing was ‘too much’) and very clean. we would definitely recommend everyone to go there when visiting the Borobudur.
Top quality hotel close to Borobudur. Great rooms, nice restaurant, & a gorgeous pool, all a 5 minute walk from the entrance to one of the world's most incredible sites.
