Nice city, not too big but with some nice restaurants and bars to go to in the evening. It is a bit stretched out, so a car can be convenient. Close to Khao Yai national park, so a good place to organize your trips from.

Pak Chong is not too popular among foreign tourists.
Pak Chong is not too popular among foreign tourists. This is a vacation place mostly for Thai people around 3 hours from Bangkok.
Getting there is easy taking the minibus and cost around 160thb.
It is a nice place to enjoy a few days and it has a enormous waterpark/amusement park, exotic zoo, temples etc in a short driving distance.
I reccomend renting a scooter to get around since it is cheap and it fast, especcaly in the most trafficated hours.
Make sure to bring international driving lisence if renting a vehicle, or else you will be fined 500thb if stopped by the police. Helmet is also a must have for both driver and passenger, or else you will be fined for not wearing one also.
There is enough dining places around (a lot of hot-pot around), but the best is the streetfood rolling out at 9-10pm and lasts for the late hours (and also cheap).
I really reccomend Pak Chong for a few days and we will definately go back there the next time.

Night was good for food and many stall but the morning market better as shop open good stufs to buy. The hostel beside noodles shop was the best had ever eaten in Thailand. Fish ball noodle was fresh and delicious.. A stall wanton Noodles down the road was delicious too. The place was quite easy to excess by bus to korat, mini van to Bangkok returned for bus too except only not many can speak English.

Pak Chong is a very laid back town.
Pak Chong is a very laid back town. You can stay here if you are planning to go to the night market or visiting Khao Yai. I think the best time to go here is in November, December & January. Its not so hot and the flowers are blooming during that time.

Boring trip to Khao Yai.
Boring trip to Khao Yai.
Many artificial theme park but not does not look real or impress. over promote by Bloggers !!!!
May good for local people for weekend relax trip but not for foreigner. Especially. Active travellers .
Excellent value! Note: it's a motel, not a resort - each bungalow has a parking space next to it and the property is 8km from Pak Chong village (night market), so only really suitable if you have private transport. I asked for a quiet room and got it. It also had the things I wanted most - a flat-screen TV, kettle and fridge. The breakfast was basic but buffet style (2 Thai veg dishes, poached eggs, Thai sausages (!), bread and butter plus toaster and filter coffee. If you have a car this is a fantastic deal!
Quirky property, there is an extensive memorabilia museum as you walk in (past Marilyn Monroe and the Blues Brothers) and then across a suspension bridge over a river to reach the hotel rooms. The rooms are a good size. Lovely pool for guests. Bar and cafe on the accommodation side of the bridge… breakfast and lunch/dinner restaurants are on the entry side. There’s a wide outside communal verandah space behind the downstairs rooms overlooking the river. Easy walk into town (circa 10 mins).
The staff is wonderful. They helped me find a group tour to Khao Yai National Park. They are humble and very comfortable to deal with. The room is clean and kept ready for you before your arrival. There is a kettle in the hallway for coffee and tea and bread also. Location is perfect. There is a night market right outside. 7-11 is close by. Bus station and train station are also within walking distance. So overall, it was a nice stay.
I like the location, ambiance, and comfort 😊. The room is very comfortable and the bathroom size was beyond our expectation for a hostel. The place is not too far from Pak Chong Railway Station. It is also near the night market. There is a walking distance (about 7 mins) 7-11 if you need some stuff. However, please be informed that the area is not actually pedestrian friendly because it is near the national road.
Mr Nong is very friendly and gave me lots of information regarding Khao Yai National Park, which I visited for two days on a motorbike (rented from Nong for 300B). The room itself is basic, but the shower is nice and warm. Although it is a 3 person dorm, I only had to share it for 1 night with someone else. The quality and service (with pick up from the center and breakfast included) are awesome for this price.
It's a cute place with nice grounds. The room was simple, but efficient. It was quiet and I felt safe. I appreciated someone speaking to me in English when I called to figure out how to get there from the bus stop at Lotus's. She sent a songtaow which cost me an additional 300 baht. I was there to see the National Park and the next morning I took a tour to Khao Yai with Greenleaf tours.
Lovely place on a wild river bank with great forest view from the room. Hung bridge to cross to nice outside restaurant with great river view and good local cuisine. Very picturesque and vast hotel with cosy corners, a cool pool and fountains gurgling everywhere. The manager organised a fantastic guided tour to the National Park Kao Yai forest very efficiently.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Having booked 2 rooms, the hotel was very busy and we were upgraded to a villa for our stay. The ability to go for a walk/cycle around the margins of the golf course was a big positive - it felt very clean and peaceful.
Great location. Easy walk to the night market and a lovely restaurant next door. The breakfast by the river was lovely and great coffee. The staff were so helpful, especially when we enquirer about where to rent a car to get to Khao Yai National Park.
Clean, comfortable, quiet and private, checking in was very easy. Only a 10-15 minutes scooter ride to the northern entrance of Khao Yai national park. Located close to plenty of food options and convenience stores.
Good location close to train station and night market
Tours to the Khao Yai national park could be booked through the hostel
The staff helped us with organizing the transport to our next destination in Thailand
