If You have 24 hours in Kampong Cham, You should visit Wat Hanchey (20 km to the north), a nice Wat with great views over the Mekong.
Wat Nokor, a few kilometers west from town is an ancient temple, which is still in use today. It is more “real” and alive than other ancient sites in the country.
Visit the French Lighthouse at sunset: great views over the city’s skyline (open 24 hours, no entrance fee, but the stairs to the top are not suitable for people with fear of heights.)

It's very calm and relaxed compared to Phnom Penh and therefore makes for the perfect escape! There is enough to do with in terms of sight seeing but honestly it's a great place to just unwind for a few days. PassApp is available - making it easy to get around, or you could rent a bicycle/ motorbike as its quite small.

Kampong Cham is a charming town with a good mix of Khmer and western places to eat and drink. The night market has a good variety of restaurants and stalls.
We ate at a french bistro called Moustache et Mico which was superb!! They sell a mouthwatering selection of homemade dishes and very reasonable prices, the chilled red wine was a perfect accompaniment to our meal.
We wish we could have stayed in Kampong Cham a lot longer!!
Super relaxing place to stay in Kampong Cham. Tu, his family and Alfredo were all incredibly helpful and friendly. The bed was LARGE and comfy. Rooms are simple and comfortable. I really felt at home in the place. Tu went out of his way to help me, for example giving me a lift to the bus station when I left. The bicycles and motos for rental make things very easy to get around and super cheap. I came back a second time on my way back through Kampong Cham and brought a friend. Would recommend.
The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The place was really peaceful and even though the hotel is 17 KM away from Kampong Cham there is plenty to do. You can relax by the pool or use their Lotus Hall for yoga. We borrowed bicycles to ride the village around the hotel and took a boat to see the sunset from the beach on one of the nearby islands. One night, the hotel staff invited us to create flower arrangements with them. That was a great opportunity to talk to the staff.
Our best stay in Cambodia in 5 trips. Thol and his family are the perfect hosts who welcome you like old friends. The situation of the guest houe is perfect, peaceful and with an atmosphere of tranquility. The WiFi is great - you can work online comfortablly - and there is always an interesting traveller to meet and swap stories with. They rent bikes and bicycles and are full of recommendations of places to visit and eat. If you are looking to stay in Kampong Cham look no further!
Mr. Soup, Mr. Thou and his wife are all very friendly and helpful. They told me a lot of things about Cambodia, gave me suggestions on what to do in the area around Kampong Cham and spent time with me chatting and drinking beers together as old friends.
They also provide scooters and laundry service for 5$/day and 1$/Kg respectively (July 2023)...great experience!
Large room, clean and comfortable. We hired a motorbike through the hotel which was good. It is in a local area a little bit out of town so you do need some form of transport. Owner was friendly, spoke french and limited english. Washing was available at the hotel. Morning market just outside the hotel is good.
Can’t fault this place! I was instantly welcomed by the lovely family who own the guesthouse, offered to taste some of their food and given some great recommendations for things to do in the day. The room was clean and comfortable, and an amazing price!! Really nice to experience proper Cambodian life.
The owner was really nice and friendly. He cooked great food for dinner and helped us book a bus to kampong Cham. We were also able to rent his bikes and use them to cycle around the town. It's the perfect place to unwind and experience rural life in Cambodia.
Also wasn't too bad with mosquitos.
Wonderful stay! Thol, our host, was so welcoming, helpful, and kind. He helped with transportation, bus bookings, and gave us great recommendations on what to do during our time in Kampong Cham. Our room was very clean and comfortable.
Absolutely exceeded expectations. Great food, host and beautiful surroundings. Simple rooms but exactly what I was looking for. Love Kampong Cham and love Natural Bungalows. Will come again soon. Don't hesitate to book here.
The staff is great and helpful and it's possible to get a scooter what is necessary as it is a bit far from the city center. With a motorbike, it's ok. The room was comfortable and the hotel clean and welcoming.
Clean room, nice facilities and a very helpful owner. Could rent a bike to go around town. The property is located around 2kms from Kampong Cham town. Really nice location in the countryside.
Sweet and very helpful family.
Clean, spacious and comfortable room.
Scooters and bicycles for rent at a very good price.
We stayed twice and would stay again if we come back to Cambodia.
The hotel is quite consistent with its category. There is everything you need, everything works, the staff is polite and diligent. In addition, the hotel is in a great location.
An affordable choice for budget travel. Do not expect much from it, though.
A bit far from downtown, so you better consider it since the neighbourhood is not English-friendly.
