Kissamos is an excellent home base for trips to Balos and also for Elafonisi, much closer than Chania. There are also many restaurants along the beach in walking distance. We didn't swim there but it is possible. You might consider Falasarno for a few days for a beautiful beach with surf!

Kissamos is a great place for a quiet, relaxing Greece holiday. Lots of old buildings and sites, beautiful beaches, very good restaurants en very kind people. We loved the historic museum, the shops in Kissamos, the boottrip and getting around by car.

It’s a small town but we could enjoy walking along the beautiful beaches. There are some supermarkets so that we could get fresh vegetables and also fresh fish which were really tasty. There are a lot of buses and they are usually very on time. We could make our schedule smoothly and everything went super!

The place is very quiet and relaxing, especially during the dusk & the night where you can have your dinner in the big balcony & view all the stars in the sky, after a full day at the nearby beaches. Is a perfect location to visit west Crete, 15-20 min from the amazing Falassarna beach and 20 min from the parking place of the famous Balos beach. Also, it is less than 60 min to visit the unique Elafonisi beach. I would definitely choose this villa again in my next visit to west Crete!

Lovely breakfast outside in the garden and even had a bottle of their favorite wine I could buy (reasonable price). Beds/mattresses appear new and were very comfy. Wifi was strong, everything very clean, nice breeze from front to back with the doors open. Never even used the AC but nice to have just in case. Mini kitchen was just enough--who needs to cook when you can get great food all over here?

If you have the chance do not miss to enjoy a romantic dinner at the restaurant, great quality food and nice service. Kissamos and this hotel will remain among the best memories of our vacation.

Quiet place, nice view, very comfortable territory which includes pool and perfect barbecue zone, where we were spending all family evenings. Separately I want to say about the owner. He is an extremely good person. He made a lot of presents, filled the fridge with food, worried we to feel comfortable. We are very grateful to him for the warm welcome. It was easy to get to the best beaches on Crete - Falasarna and Balos on rental car. Once we will back!

The facilities are impeccably maintained and the decor is lovely. The pool is stunning and much better than in the pictures. The location near kissamos is very convenient and less than an hour drive to the most famous beaches on the island, but within minutes of many other nice beach options. But honestly you may never want to leave this amazing oasis!

Dimitria who prepared a delicious breakfast for us was the kindest person we met in Crete. The room has everything you need also to prepare some simple meals. There are many beaches around this area and traditional restaurants so you won't be bored. Don't go to the big resort hotels, just try something different in Maria Villas and you will not regret it.
