The hospitality of the staff was exceptional.
The property has a lot of charm. It’s typical agricultural establishment when a friendly dogs and cats will follow you around. The room we stayed was very quiet, clean with simple decor.
Continental breakfast (included in the room price) was very satisfying. If you don’t feel like driving in the evening you can also book a dinner. Expect a simple, very tasteful home made food .

Location is super. Good value for the money.
Buffet breakfast.
This historic townhouse has been carefully renovated to create a charming small hotel. It lies at the foot of Montserrat – the most important and impressive religious site in Catalonia.

The best is to arrive in the second part of the day and stay over night when it is less crowded to enjoy the views and silence.
There are few trails around the monastery. You may walk one of them before sunset and in the morning you may go to San Jeroni and enjoy the views before its too hot. You may ask for a trail map in the information office.
You may go to San Jeroni without using funicular , just take steps next to Abbat Oliba statue and you will see pointers. You may also buy water in the machine in the hostel next to the statue.
In the evening noone asked for a ticket to see Madonna although if you stay in the hotel you have free access anyway.

Amazing place.
Amazing place.
Just don't be in a hurry and have time to feel it.
If you can have an overnight, have it!
Late evening and early morning hours are the best time to have the real feel of Montserrat.

As shown in any photo of the place, Montserrat is one of the most beautiful religious sights on the planet. It is also packed all day with thousands of pilgrims and other visitors. I enjoyed the Sant Joan funicular up the mountain from the Monastery, then the scenic 45 minute walk back down, with panoramic views of the surrounding country, all the way to Barcelona. Staying on site was key, as things were much nicer after 5-6pm when all the crowds left. I stayed there overnight partly to see the 6:30 choir practice of the Escalonia Choir. Supposedly it is "Europe's oldest boys choir." I believe that, since the choir that I saw practice at that particular time, averaged 60-70 years in age! Evening was also nice in the cave-like rocks along the mountain side of the Cathedral, where there were thousands and thousands of lit candles left by the faithful during the day.

We loved the cathedral and the easy access to the Virgin.
We loved the cathedral and the easy access to the Virgin. We then took the train to the top and went for a great hike. The views are astonishing. Having read about really expensive parking up there, we were a bit afraid. However, hotel guests get a reduction and parking fees are very reasonable. This place is really worth a visit.

Montserrat is unmissable.. Ingrown on the rock mountains offers an unparalleled landscape and van be accessed by train or by road both fantastic. A funicular takes visitors even higher. Good hotels and restaurants. Excelent visit for one or two days maximum or much more for resting purposes.

OMG! Fabulous if you like hiking in the mountains - so many trails and so much to see. I was there 3.5 days and hiked about 40km in total. Beautiful area. Be ready for some challenging terrain - especially on the downhills! Some easier places to go also - something for everyone I would say.
If you are able to spare the time - definitely stay up on the mountain...the early mornings are the best, cool and quiet, before the rush of the day.
Exceeded our expectations, the view, the trails, and accomodation was truly great. We were with a kid of 4yrs old and he enjoyed all days. The rooms have a locked kitchen, and with a 20 surcharge you can even use the kitchen for your own. Compared to Barcelona de place is affordable and you can stay multiple nights as well. The train+air tickets costs 24, return included.
Very large apartment with big table area, kitchen, and extra bedroom (we didn't really use the kitchen). Good location for hiking and all the Montserrat activities. Lots of space to spread out, nice to open windows. Private area as not many people seemed to be staying there. Nice to have a shower after hiking all day.
Location, location, location. The apartment is within a few steps of Montserrat abbey and the rack railway (cremallera). The two funicular railways and the cable car are also only a short walk away. Apartments have lift to all floors. Lots of marked hiking trails nearby. Fantastic views.
Great breakfast buffet included with the room. Meats, cheeses, cereal, sweets and coffee to prepare you for a day of hiking ahead. Adorable and kind staff working in the hotel! Close to all attractions in the town, including the basilica and the trails. Comfortable, large room.
No information during the booking that you have to pay for the parking to enter the zone and cannot park your car nearby the hotel and must carry all your luggages by walking.
I would have stayed in the valley if I had known, it’s neither practical and gets pricey.
Excellent location, right in the heart of the Monastery complex. Spacious and clean apartment. All the staff are very helpful (please note check in is at the hotel not the apartment) and the restaurant in the hotel is a beautiful space with a lovely ambience.
We loved the location. The room was excellent. Beautiful view from the window. Great breakfast. The kitchen was very useful. The perfect place to rest and recover after exploring the beautiful nature of Montserrat.
This hostel/hotel was a great surprise after a bad experience in Barcelona! Beautiful spot, cozy room, clean bathroom, very good share kitchen and also good breakfast included.
very friendly staff, if you cannot speak Spanish the lovely staff speak very good English, great location close to Montserrat with lots of hikes, amazing views, dogs allowed
It was the second time in this hotel, I am very satisfied about it. The location is fantastic, rooms are comfortable.
Restaurant is excellent, at a reasonable price.
Quiet hotel, huge sharing space. A lot of equipment in the kitchen, so you can prepare your own food.
Clean and warm rooms. We had beautiful view from a window.
