I didn't eat breakfast, however my brother did and wasn't much of a variety like another LaQuinta's I've stayed at. Not sure about the quality of the food either.

I usually stay in Tucumcari on my way from Az. to the mid west to visit my children. This was my first time at the Roadway Inn. I will stay here from now on instead of the other Motels in town that are double the price, and the bonus, it is on Route 66 ++++

Tucumcari is a city rebounding from the loss of rail service in the 1980’s or 90’s. The train depot has been converted to a museum. The charm of vintage vehicles and Historic U.S. Route 66 is evident everywhere. Recommended restaurants: Del’s and Kix 66.

Street signs are small but staff at Desert Inn very helpful giving directions! Stonehouse Ranch Steakhouse great choice for nice dinner, not far away! Great change from Taco Bell or McD's (both close by!)!

We always like going through Tucumcari when we travel out west. Sometimes we stop and shop. The motet accommodations were very nice. Breakfast was great.
The only thing I have a complaint about is the pet fee. Fees should be according to size of pet.

The property it self was nice enough, but my daughters apple air pods were left and the hotel have failed to return them to us even though we sent a postage paid addressed envelop for their return over 2 months ago and when we initially phoned they confirmed house keeping had handed them into the office. They now will not respond to my emails or Booking.coms attempts to contact them regarding this, so all in all dishonest. I can't find a phone number to call them from oversea's on, the number on the booking only works in USA. Disappointing they have not been returned,
The staff here is super friendly and helpful. They absolutely go out of your way to make your stay the very best. The rooms are clean and cozy and the location is wonderful; located on Route 66, surrounded by several motels, restaurants and souvenir stores, all in a very nice vintage style.
Roel and the rest of the staff offered us a free hot breakfast, to be served at a time of our choosing. It was delicious and just what we needed before our long drive that day.
Highly recommended!!
When the mercury at my planned campsite at Palo Dura State Park near Amarillo exceeded 105F, I fled to Tucumcari and searched for a hotel. The room was affordable, welcomed my dog, and afforded me a good shower and a quiet night of sleep. No frills, and that was just fine with me. The manager on duty appeared to be the owner, and he was quite pleasant.
The hotel was perfect for my friends and I on a roadtrip. Our room and bathroom were clean, comfortable, and quiet. The hotel was located near the interstate but also in a historic Route 66 town which was worth the visit! The front desk was kind and very helpful. Would highly recommend to anyone needing a place to stay and on a budget.
The Blue Swallow is one of a few authentic historic Route 66 roadside motels that continues to operate. The new owners are great and available. We stayed in the "Lillian Redmond Suite." This was the last room available when I booked the reservation. Experiencing a piece of history in our stay was fun!
The breakfast was amazing! I loved the packets of lemon juice and honey for the tea (I don't see that in other hotels). Also, the picante sauce was the best I ever had! They have a great selection of breakfast enhancements!
The staff was friendly, and the location was great. The cost is on average with Motel 6 chain. And they were accomodating to my need for fluidity of stay (travel delays and rescheduling) (* Big plus- Pet Friendly!)
The breakfast of the hotel was very good and the location was a nice and quiet area. I enjoyed the stay, felt like home and the staff was very sweet. Room was clean, everything worked, nothing was broken.
Clean, comfortable accommodation for our overnight stay in Tucumcari. Attentive staff who were friendly and helpful in recommending restaurants in town to eat at. Highly recommended!
The staff was extremely friendly and the room was very clean-the breakfast was great and the Internet was good-no problem with our dog and the hotel was close to whatever we needec
Loved the minimalist and pet friendly room (vinyl flooring). Quiet, 1st floor room great for pet outings. My dog loved the potty patch. Good breakfast. Close to food options.
The person at the front desk who checked us in was pleasant and amicable. The hotel is ideally located in Tucumcari on one of the two main roads in Tucumcari.
