This stay was purely for transfer to the airport the next day, so just needed a bed for the night and a taxi to the airport the following day
However I have stayed in Kalamata many times before, and it is a wonderful city for a short break, with a great choice of lively cafes and eateries on the seafront.
The traffic is lighter along the seafront than in most Greek cities; Kalamata feels safe to walk around at night and in the daytime there are some interesting historic areas and museums to visit.

Kalamata is a fantastic place but it does take a while to become familiar with it. We've been on many occasions and we prefer to take the bus in (from Stoupa) because we find driving in Kalamata quite stressful. This is not because of the Greek drivers who are very courteous but more because we are not too familiar with the roads.
Our favourite place to visit is the market, which is on Saturdays and Wednesdays and it is fantastic. The quality, selection and price (and especially the price) are fantastic. The bus station is just across the road from the market so not far to walk.

Kalamata is a great small city in the Peloponnes, which caters for every interest. It has a some historical places, a beautiful old town with tradtional shops, an amazing coast with beaches, super clean water, very good and afordable restaurants and bars and a great ambiance. A city which you can explore easily by foot.
Further it can be used as a base for some of the most interesting places to visit in the Peloponnes like Mani, Mystras, Koroni, ancient Messene, the Apollon Temple and a lot more.

What an absolutely amazing growing metropolis!
What an absolutely amazing growing metropolis! Safe, secure, welcoming, fashion oriented, health conscious residents and simply a pleasure being around.
Simply attending a town square on any given night will be demonstration enough to illustrate the hospitable welcoming people of Kalamata with children of all ages playing with each-other, (no phones included, LOL), laughing, talking as kids should!
Everyone is not only healthy, but fit. It was astonishing that we struggled with my wife to find any unfit person in hundreds of people, especially the kids in town!
Bravo Kalamata... you are doing things right!
The owners were very accomodating , nothing was too much trouble. very proffessional first class stay and definately; would recomend this accomodation and will be coming back again myself if i am in the kalamata area.
Katerina and husband Panagiotis were very genuine lovely people they ensured our stay was 1st cl
Very clean in the property, Lots of extras in the room which you do not even see in the 4 star hotels.
Thank you Katerina and her daughter Tonia super stay all the best Catherine and Panos in Birmingham
First I need to say that the hotel staff is very good, friendly and helpful (as usual in Greece). They are here to assist you everytime you need something. Hotel has a good location - supermarket, port, beach, bus station and many bars, restaurants and coffees nearby.
On the highest floor there is pool with a nice view (I just thought there will be a pool bar as it seems it used to be there but wasn't. However, nice young lady from reception came twice to bring something to another guests).
The reason we loved this hotel was because its amazing direct sea view. The room was clean, spacious and comfy, just the bathroom was a bit old fashioned. However the big balcony with its amazing view compensates everything else. Also on the top floor, there is a great roof bar and the breakfast buffet with views all the way to Kalamatas centre and the sea. TIP: Ask for higher floor
This apartment was amazing! Modern, clean and big. We loved our stay here! It was the most central location you can get in Kalamata with only a 2 minute walk to amazing restaurants and bars. The washing machine was such a help and I loved the Nespresso machine and milk frother. Patio / balcony was massive with stunning views. I would only stay here if in Kalamata again.
The view is in my opinion the best both day and night. The staff can`t do enough to make your stay pleasurable.
It is located just far enough from the maddening crowd of Kalamata central, but close enough to enjoy it too. At the top of the street is the taxi stand and also the main shopping center. I highly recommend this place. It is close to a laundromat.
A truly amazing hotel where it is so beautifully structured and decorated, with a magnificent area just below the hotel where we enjoyed our breakfast, which was hearty rich and delicious. Excellent staff, everything spotlessly clean, the location the best you will find in Kalamata. We will visit again soon
Kalamata is not that big but there is not much to see around the location of the hotel. You would have to go by car to the center or the main sea promenade to see some activity. However the hotel has everything above and beyond what you may need. It is a resort style hotel after all.
It's like a luxurious 5 stars hotel. My room had all the facilities you could need. Even a 55 inches LG smart TV. The staff/owner are very hospitable and they really care for your comfortable stay. The building is located very centrally and I could find easily to park my car.
The hotel is located right next to the beach, a 15-minute walk from the center of Kalamata. Towels and bed linen were changed every day. Breakfast was in the renovated dining room. Choice of coffee, time, dcuz, water, parks, ham, cheese, vegetables and omelette
Massive swimming pool, with plenty of loungers and gardens surrounding it. Large bar and dining area as well as other function rooms. Located right on the beach and outside of Kalamata itself. Room was large and had a good-sized balcony.
Love the stay, clean, bright and good room. Nice location, easy to park and use a car, to explore this part of Greece. The host was so nice, and helpful. Recommended us, great places to eat and it was easy to accommodate.
The staff went beyond expectations to meet our needs during our stay. We checked out early and the staff prepared us a to-go/take away breakfast. I highly recomend you stay here during your time in Kalamata.
Great place and great location 👍 also comfortable and Kalamata is a wonderful place for holiday, maby beaches were litle far way, but if you are with car this part of Mesinia is magical.
The bathroom was big and clean. Having a small fridge in the room was very convenient. The location was perfect, we found a parking spot just outside the hotel. The personnel was very kind
nice small hotel in the very central location of Kalamata at the main square, well equipped with kitchen (but no frying pan), clean, balkony, good wifi, nice staff
I know Greece quite well and thought that is a really outstanding bay view apartment managed by an over average caring lady. I definitely will come again.
