Everyone was nice but the kitchen staff was spectacular. The star of the show in my opinion was Manos, who seemed to be the head waiter. His simple presence uplifted the entire restaurant. His wording, even in a second language, made the atmosphere graceful and you felt provided for without pretention. So much warmth and so professional. The waitress Sofia would pick up crying children (with approval of parents of course) and welcome everyone warmly. The food of course was also good, as well as the rest of the staff. thank you!
Overlooking Mirabello Bay and the beautiful Venetian castle on the island of Spinalonga, the adults-only Elounda Heights offer an outdoor pool and free Wi-Fi.

The rooms were gorgeous, almost as gorgeous as the view. One of the most gorgeous and scenic views I have ever seen.
The staff could not have been more friendly. From the Guest Relations Staff, particularly Ina, to the absolutely lovely, helpful and service oriented house keeping staff. Special shout out to the restaurant workers who dealt with everything with a smile.

Elounda is a compact small town on a beautiful sheltered bay. Easy to walk around to visit shops and the many restaurants, tavernas and cafes. In high season it's very much a resort but it's also really nice to visit it out of season, when it's just a working town. There are expensive resorts and hotels outside the main town and it's obvious that there is sufficient income for the local authorities to keep the roads, pavements, infrastructure, etc., well maintained, unlike some other places on Crete.

Would be a charming town if not sooo many tourists who are being brough to Elounda with big busses to do boat tours.
Above has impact on prices and daily routine in the town, leaving little space for Cretean live-style.

Elounda is a great place - very pretty, everything you need is within walking distance - you dont really need a car. Beaches are close by, or you can walk further out to them. Bars and restaurants all around - some cheap and cheerful, some traditional some finer dining - but all are excellent.
You can get boats from the harbour/port to various places. Lots of places to visit - Spinalonga, Ag Nik, Heraklion, museums etc
Also if you like walking - there are a lot of options around the peninsula and along to Plaka.
It isnt cheap but isn't expensive. There are A LOT of English people who go to Elounda (regularly) - but its not full of sports bars or English breakfast places!
A really good place for a first timer to Crete or Greece.
Everybody is friendly and its a very chilled out place.

Elunda is a little fishing village that has grown with the tourist industry, loads of taverna's and restaurants easily keep you going for two weeks, some nice bars as well.
We go in May or September, September is still up to 30 deg and the sea is lovely and warm, it is a lot quieter and relaxing with older people being the main tourists.
The town has two good beaches, It overlooks a bay that is guarded by Spinalonga Island formerly a leaper colony and before that a Venetian fort, worth a visit by boat from the harbour.
Along the coast a couple of miles in a Taxi is Placa a charming place to have a meal or a drink in the evening, has some very good restaurants with a beautiful view of Spinalonga.
The other side of Elunda is a large town of Agios Nikolaos Lots of shops and things to see even more restaurants.
We hired a car for a few days and went out and about there are a few interesting arclogiclde sites within an hours radius, Kritsais a very old village inland up in the hills, it is worth a visit with lots of craft shops and taverna's and nice views,
We have been to Elunda 4 times and will go back next year hopefully.

The holiday homes are cultured, there are no vendors on the beach, or loud music. There are a lot of rocks in the sea and the fishes are biting :D, so it's worth wearing water shoes. It's a calm and clean city, the locals are nice, the food and drinks are amazing, they give you big portions. There is a lot of wind in Elounda, but Plaka is really windy. There is some nightlife in the bars, but nothing rough. The vacation here is relaxing and pleasant.

Elounda is outstanding.A number of restaurants are on jetties streching out into Elounda bay.
The Blue Sea Cretan Cuisine and seafood restaurant located in front of my hotel was fabulous! Exceptional food and service at great prices.
Elounda and Spinalonga is full of lovely local shops selling beautiful items, many hand made.
The local people I found to be warm and welcoming.
The atmosphere was relaxed with plenty of available sunbeds on the sea front.
I felt no need to go anywhere else as I was staying for 1 week, although there were boat trips on offer along the sea front. I did get the bus to Agios Nikolaus for 1euro 80 each way around 20 minutes from Elounda.
We stayed in Sapphire Zen Suit with Whirpool. Hotel location was very good. Shuttle service was very helpfull (whenever we called, they came and picked us) The views at Cool Living area and in the room were amazing. People (especially Efi in Greco Levante) and services in A La Carte restaurants were very nice. Good brands of alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks. The barmen Anastasia in Lobby Bar was very good and professional. Check in and check out was very quick and staffs were friendly.
Overall, beautiful suites with great hospitality. Unfortunately, we were very unlucky and were placed in a suite next to a family with a young baby which woke us several times throughout the night due to the very thin walls!! Its a shame as very well equipped hotel but not quite the R&R we were looking for! Would highly recommended for families, with children’s sing along in the main bar and lots of activities, but not so great for couples after a quiet break.
The best place to calm & enjoy the wonderful view of Elounda. All the suites have a private pool big enough for 4 people, sunbeds & tables.
Maria, the hotel owner, is very kind & always available to help you with any request!
If you need coffee/snack or even lunch local stores offer a delivery service! Every morning I ordered coffee & breakfast in my room within 15mins! (Ask Maria for details)
We’ve booked the Elounda Bay and were offered a suite at the Elounda Beach, which apparently it’s more luxurious (our first time).
Very good hotel, ok facilities given the out of season period, but the highlight of it all is definitely the staff, who without being cheesy, are very polite, effective, hands on and there to help! Even in eventful situations! We have really enjoyed our stay!
Beautiful hotel overall. Room was huge with a really nice bathroom and balcony with sea view. The beach was really nice despite being pebbles - they have cleverly put decking down to make it easy to access and you can get into the water via the pontoon so we were really happy (lovely to not have sand getting everywhere!)
Hotel taken over by Hotel Brain who are clearly updating. Renewed power supply and cabinets. Overhaul of pumps etc on the already excellent pool area. Staff are very friendly and hotel spotless. A little walk into Elounda but very pleasant if you take the shortcut via old salt pans and follow the waterside.
Wonderful friendly Staff. Complimentary prosecco and cherries were a very pleasant touch. The hotel is decorated beautifully and modern. You have everything you need in the rooms and they are spacious and comfortable. Thank you Kalypso Hotel for a wonderful and memorable stay.
Breakfast was superior, great staff, fresh fruit and many hot items, great view from breakfast room, everything refilled promptly. Helpful courteous staff. Wonderful . Beds very comfortable and Village of Elounda a 6 minute drive for dinner. Clean and well kept up
.
Elounda was beautiful.
A relaxed place, easy to stay for a solo traveller. Loads of lovely restaurants right on the sea front.
As the food and ambience was so good at the Blue Sea Cretan restaurant in front of the hotel, I chose to eat there every evening.
Very friendly and quietly efficient hotel. Lovely setting, very quiet at all times, ideal for people who want peace. Food great at a most reasonable price. Wonderful staff. Lovely (superior) room with sun balcony and view over the bay.
Big room with big sofa and table, kitchen etc. very clean and nice place terras with chairs and table surprise snacks from the family closets a safe nice bathroom (really nice place to stay and 2 min from center)
The hotel is in front of the sea and very close to restaurants and cafes. The swimming pool is perfect and the bar also. The staff is really helpful and polite. Totally recommended, a value for money hotel
Excellent place, there is everything that You need - superb hotel, hotel restaurant with tasty food and fresh orange juice in breakfast mornings, pool, bar, cozy beach, and a lot of white wine! :)
Literally Elounda Heights! Amazing view of Elounda , staff was so kind and helpful and everything was super clean and organized. Should have had a longer stay .
