Morro Jable is a beautiful village, very picturesque and you can walk down to the harbour too where there are various boat trips which we have tried and would recommend. There is a wonderful old bar in the square which seems to be frequented a lot by the local people (always a good recommendation in my opinion). They serve gorgeous tapas, we love the goat stew in particular. Other places we would recommend are Simon's Kitchen which is an Irish bar serving Guinness and sticky ribs (which my husband always wants when we go there). Leos is a bar on the front, serves lovely food too. In Jandia, we would recommend La Serana bar which serves huge portions of food and the staff are particularly nice there. There is also a great Chinese which again serves the usual favourites. We have spent over 24 years visiting Fuerteventura and have returned time and again to Morro Jable, I could write a book on it! And finally, go to the bus station and get the bus to Cofete beach which is apparently one of the 5 most beautiful beaches in the world, and I can vouch for this.

Morro Jable is a charming old fishing town where closer to the port, more locals live, while on the other side, along the white sandy beach, there are hotels, restaurants, and souvenir shops. Morro Jable itself is a cool place; you can really feel a great vibe here. The beach bars are always full, yet the town itself has secluded streets where locals move about, enjoying cortados in small cafes.

The places that truly captivated me in Morro Jable were its stunning beaches, particularly the stretches of sand near the lighthouse, which offer breathtaking views and a serene atmosphere. I was also fascinated by the local market, where I could immerse myself in the vibrant culture and pick up unique souvenirs.
I had the pleasure of dining at several restaurants, but two stood out: one offered traditional Canarian dishes, where I indulged in the local specialty of papas arrugadas with mojo sauce, and the other was a seafood restaurant right by the ocean, serving the freshest catch of the day.
Navigating Morro Jable turned out to be surprisingly easy. The town is well-organized, and walking is often the best way to explore its charms. For longer distances, there are taxis and a reliable bus service that connects Morro Jable with other parts of the island.
For my next visit, I'd prefer to avoid the more touristy areas during peak hours, as they can get quite busy. Instead, I'd focus on exploring more secluded beaches and local spots that aren't on the typical tourist radar, to fully experience the authentic beauty and tranquility of Morro Jable. Overall, my experience in Morro Jable was deeply enriching, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty, cultural immersion, and culinary delights.

The beach is amazing. The sand is super soft.
The beach is amazing. The sand is super soft. The sea is calm and perfect for swimming in. The beach shelves gently into the sea.
The old town is pleasant to walk around and there are plenty of beach side restaurants to eat in.
Parking is a problem though.

Basically the hotel amenities are at over capacity too many guest for the hotel. If you want to sit by the pool you have to reserve a sun bed before 8:30 with your towel, ignore the signs not too everyone’s else does. the small mosaic tiles of the pool where never grouted in and are coming up in patches which gives the kids something to do to stack them outside. The beach is 75 steps from the hotel but there are no provisions at the beach I.e. sunbeds or umbrellas. The restaurant I thought served good food but it was almost exactly the same everyday “international”. If you don’t want to queue you have to be there before 7PM to get a table. Even then you have queue for the popular food like pizza or ice cream. The wine and beer was very average. The a la cart restaurants are only reserved via the Tui app and only between 48 to 72 hours in advance. Several people we observed booked but walked out when the saw the menus. They don’t meet the definition of A la cart the Italian restaurant had a choice of one starter and one desert and only four main meals. However, good luck trying to get the app to work. The wifi is completely overwhelmed and you need to constantly refresh / log back on to get to any access. At peak times doesn’t work. The same is true for all the other activities on the app. The main bar only has 20 tables so we never managed to see a show there or sit for a drink in the 12 days we stayed. From 18:00 all the seats were taken. The theater shows started at 21:30 but you had to be there by 8:45 to get a seat. I found the staff generally friendly but didn’t like the way they drove around in electric buggies on the same footpaths at guests forcing us to jump out the way. The linen in our room was getting very worn frayed towels and small holes in the bed sheets. The weather good, the hotel is at least 60 minutes from the airport.

Blown away by this stunning apartment. Spent 3 nights. There was plenty of space for 4 adults. Loved the way the lounge flowed through the garden into the master suite (with 2 double beds) Modern kitchen with dishwasher, kind touches like washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, clothes, napkins etc
The pool was refreshing and clean. Very quiet whilst we stayed. Great location for shops, restaurants and beach, all within a 10 mins walk.
1st time to Fuerteventura, it felt very safe, and relaxing. We will be back.
I would definitely recomend this hotel. There is everything you need in it.The location is perfect. It is situated around 150m from the main beach which is really big and wide. There are supermarkets, bus stops within walking distance. The rooms were clean with comfortable beds.Big enough bathroom and functional kitchenette.Good wifi signal and really nice and helpful staff in the reception.
A very comfortable room in a lovely traditional Spanish house/ hotel.
Very comfortable bed and good bathroom.
Pool area quite windy and exposed , hard to stay warm enough there even in good weather
Peace ful and quiet , a big climb up hill steps etc to get back up to hotel after being at beach) restaurants.
Good to be able to use large kitchen.
Breakfast nice
I was happy with everything to do with the resort, considering it wasn't that pricey I felt it was 5 star luxury. The hotel was spotlessly clean food was delicious with a huge variety. The staff were so nice, helpful and easy going. The Internet was bad but that really didn't bother me. Couldn't recommend this hotel more. Had a wonderful stay
Perfect stay for enjoying Morro Jable and the south of Fuerteventura in general. The apartment is really nice, with everything needed in it, and perfectly located in the town. I've been there during my vacation, but I would consider it also to temporary work remotely.
Hotel was really briliant close to everything, Beach was 2 min from hotel Localisation is great shop is under the room and restaurant just next to That was ours second time and definetelly we will come back Lady on reception so nice and helpfull
Excellent food. The prestige package is well worth it. The staff were super friendly. The facilities were amazing. We also hired a photographer who worked at the hotel to take pictures and videos one evening and I highly would recommend this.
Patrizia on Reception. She went over and beyond her duties. The location is great but not for people who cant walk too far as it is uphill from the beach. The hotel has a bar, an ATM, a swimming pool and a laundry room. Great facilities
The hotel's location is fantastic; you can take a walk on the beach just by stepping out the door, and within 50 meters, you're on the sand. Shops are also nearby. The best asset of this hotel is its smiling and helpful staff.
Nice resort with many pools for any spare time during the stay at the hotel. Excellent and amazing animation team. Good service and gym. Fantastic sea view from the room: the beach is literally in front of the resort!
We had three wonderful weeks at hotel Alte Marine and we hope we can come again.

The room was clean with nice views. The resort is located in a calm area very well located to explore the south of Fuerteventura. Breakfast buffet was good and varied. Dinner in Patio Canario was excellent!!
