Food was fantastic. Most all the staff were friendly and welcoming including the bartenders Lance and Georgia, security Nelson, Bul, and Buju (my spelling may very well may be incorrect). They have a little cat family that roams the property, mom dad and 2 kittens; I personally loved that. Overall, the outside property was kept very nice. Beautiful beach front and location.

Loved the breakfast! The staff was outstanding — from the people who checked us in to housekeeping — especially Joy! We enjoyed our room and its location — the beach was outstanding— our seats and umbrella were set up every day waiting for us! We loved it so much, we booked a longer trip for next year!

Negril is the more laid back part of Jamaica.
Negril is the more laid back part of Jamaica. It is quiet, especially up in West End and the cliffs. So there you are not right on a beach but up on cliffs you can jump from or coves you can take a
ladder down to swim. There are small markets and many mom-and-pop restaurants you can walk to. And lots of locals homes with their gardens and grazing animals.
The beach area of Negril is flat and sandy. Depending on where you stay, you can be at a small place on the beach and walk to stores, town restaurants and small beach restaurants. Or, you can stay at an all inclusive and never leave the property.
We like Negril better than Ocho Rios ( but seeing Dunns Falls and Bob Marley’s home in Ocho Is a must) We like Negril because of its less touristy feel.
If you’re here without children, you should split your time between beach and cliffs.

I absolutely loved our vacation in Negril! I loved the cliffs and beach, the food, locals, scenery but I would’ve preferred to stay at another hotel. The restaurants were amazing and the sea was breathtaking. Can’t wait to return.
Especially to rock house!

Negril never disappoints, there are so many great cooks, everywhere. You can literally eat anywhere. We rent a car but taxis are a great way to get around to the beautiful beach. Talk to the locals get out of your hotel and explore.

Way past the large all-inclusive resorts, Negril is full of smaller and well maintained properties, guest houses, restaurants. Not so much an international cosmopolitan playground as an honest Jamaican setting.

The hotel is very very secluded and far from EVERYTHING.
The hotel is very very secluded and far from EVERYTHING. I almost thought we were lost trying to find the hotel.
The housekeeper is rude and impolite. The head housekeeper Alison made up for it though. Alison was sweet and kind, and went above and beyond to make up for her co-worker.
The bar/ restaurant servers were excellent. I loved all of the ladies.
Villas Sur Mer is a lovely hotel in a wonderful spot in Negril. My one complaint is that we expected we'd be staying in a specific bungalow (the one with the curved roof) and instead we were put in the top floor of a duplex. It was fine, but we'd been really excited about the lovely stand alone bungalow and that's why we booked the place. On the plus side, there as a GORGEOUS waterfront view that you get to through an underground tunnel on the grounds of Villas Sur Mer. Truly magical. We spent a lot of time in that spot.
Amazing hotel. There is a room choice to fit every budget from mixed dorms to private rooms with shared bathrooms and your very own Cottage. I liked the pool area it was easy to socialize and meet other travelers. The hotel provided a free shuttle to the beach which was fantastic and saved of quite a bit of money on transportation. We enjoyed playing board games by the clubhouse. The staff were outstanding and really nice. I highly recommend Bak A Yaad!!!!!
Sorry to point this out but please read what I didn't like first! Lovely staff, always had time for conversation, some real characters! The room cleaning service was very good. Nice setting, in nature, though not as much wildlife visible as you would hope. And just a short distance from Negril, which with a car was easily manageable. The kitchen facilities were good for self-catering. Overall many good aspects about this accommodation!
Very clean and spacious room. The staff were friendly and clear following of c19 guidance going on. The beach is lush and within steps from the rooms. I'll definitely stay here again. I came with my partner but this will also be fine for groups and families. Last year I stayed at an all inclusive resort nearby but this was definitely more enjoyable plus more cost effective. The breakfast is large and keeps you full! Thanks all.
Near beach i found this was great. My room was nice and cool clean every 2 days but the window bays behind the long curtains was very dirty and full of black thick moss I found this very uncomfortable due to that i suffer with asthma an my health was at risk staying in the room, I liked the location very quiet on the beach not near all the congestion that Negril can bring.
I always come to the same spot and Ilike the little privacy I get (little, besides the usual hecklers). The comofrt, the familar faces, the people, the food, everything about the property I love. But especially the food offerings (mornings). Sets it apart form other breakfast spots on the beach I have experienced over the last 12 years I have been going to Negril.
A quiet section of negril beach but close to everything. Not a 5 star resort in terms of facilities, but an unpretentious, laid back, more authentic vibe, unlike the all inclusives. We had a great time, totally chilled, and the staff are lovely, very friendly, especially behind the bar/restaurant and on security which makes all the difference when on holiday.
The location is centrally located on the 7 mile beach so it was perfect. The breakfast and dinner at the restaurant was amazing. About every other night the hotel had Caribbean entertainment; dancers, fire eaters, musicians. It was so much more than what we expected. The people working there were really nice a friendly.
The restaurant of the hotel in front of the beach is great, for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with reasonable prices for Jamaica. Wonderfull view. Very nice beach. Free beach chairs and parasols. Good cocktails. Personal is very nice and helpfull.
The property’s grounds were absolutely lovely and so was my room. The hotel is close to absolutely everything fun in Negril and the beach is right across the street. The hotel’s restaurant serves amazing thin crust pizza too!
The hotel had a great location on the beach with sunbeds and shade. Bar and restaurant were well placed alongside the beach, but it was a shame that the restaurant only served after 3pm for part of the week.
my son and i love the variety, we've stayed at several 5 stared hotels this year for different celebrations but for the pass 3 years we chose Royalton Negril... it feels like home; comfortable.
Very nice property and location . I loved that all the restaurants were included on the All Inclusive package with no reservation required . Most of the staff were friendly and helpful
Location was great. Facilities were excellent. Food was what you would expect from an all inclusive. It was good but not great. Overall we had a great experience.
