Nicosia's old town is fascinating and safe to walk around day and night. Nicosia also has an excellent cheap bus service. Locals are friendly and helpful if you need directions. Besides, almost always great weather, very nice people, and delicious food, 1 - to 2 days in Nicosia is enough to walk around and check out the sightseeing. I recommend passing through the border to the Turkish side and shopping a bit in the Turkish Bazar (the ladies will like POSH Handbags & Shoes shop) and eating at the local restaurants. Nicosia is a very unique and historic City.
Nicosia is a very unique and historic City. Famously it is still a divided city and it is possible to visit Northern Nicosia which is under Turkish Occupation since the 1970s. There are many very interesting and fairly unique sites to visit on both sides of the border. Nicosia is both a very modern city and has also a very old and picturesque sector. The fact that it has a patrolled border, the Green Line, running through it makes it a very memorable experience. There are many restaurants and tavernas of variable quality in the town. Sadly there are way too many fast food outlets, but there are also some traditional tavernas serving fresh local delicacies. I didnt enjoyed my stay in Nicosia at all It was for work commitments but since my accommodation failed me I was miserable most of the time! The only agréable time was when I went north Cyprus where people were very friendly!

The southern city center is very small--you can easily walk...
The southern city center is very small--you can easily walk from end to end multiple times in a day of sightseeing--but it is a pleasant mix of developed tourist streets, colorful quaint residential streets, abandoned buildings and weird more or less closed shops with display windows full of junk. The center is worth a day. A second day is best spent on the Turkish side or in nature at the city outskirts.

The rooms were cleaned every day, the restaurant served a very good breakfast and once we also had lunch there and everything was very good. The rooms were beautiful and very comfortable. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The hotel as a whole is full of many facilities including a restaurant, a wonderful bar serving delicious cocktails, a gym, a spa, a reading room and a beautiful courtyard with a beautifully decorated interior.

When we called the hotel to ask about parking, the gentleman at the desk was kind enough to meet us outside and show us the entrance to a nearby garage with very young reasonable rates. The woman staffing the breakfast bar was also very helpful showing guests how to work the espresso machine :). Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. We would stay here again!

We had a balcony with a very nice view where we could have breakfast. Around the hotel you can find a bakery and some small shops if you want to prepare meal for yourself. Place is spottles and the owners are very friendly and accommodating. They help you wherever they can. I wish we could stay longer.
