It was in a great location, easy to walk around to the sights of Southampton and cruise ship terminal across the street. Also a great mature green space right across the street. It had a great fun and unique vibe, clean, modern, funky and vibrant! Comfortable beds, well appointed kitchen, large bathrooms, good lighting and blackout curtains.

I love everything about the hotel
. The staffs were very friendly and professional. I told them ahead that it was my birthday and they left a very cute note and chocolate in the room for me. That was very thoughtful and kind of them. Thank you Paul and the team, I really appreciate the kind gesture.

A departure point for Isle of Wight ferries and grand cruise liners including the Queen Mary 2, Southampton is understandably centered around its port. But even if you’re passing through, the city has more than enough to make you want to stay awhile. The Hythe Ferry from the port passes Netley, site of a ruined abbey, and ends at Hythe Pier, home to the world’s oldest pier train.
There is much older history in the city center where the 15th-century city walls are amongs the most complete in England. Also remaining is the medieval Bargate gatehouse.
Just behind is the Bargate Shopping Center, while main street stores in the city center and West Quay are other Southampton shopping choices. As for entertainment, the city has great theaters, and Oxford Street has the best bars and restaurants. All are easily reached from the apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Southampton available on Booking.com.
There is also a surprising amount of green space in the city and its central parks is a historic site. Slightly further out is Southampton Common, whose Urban Wildlife Centre is worth a visit.
If you’re flying out of Southampton Airport, don’t leave without having visited the Maritime Museum or Archaeology Museum, both detailing the history of this long-established city.
If visiting Southampton stay closer to city centre.
If visiting Southampton stay closer to city centre. This hotel was practically surrounded by a building site. Drink were extortionate, limited food available not as described on website. Saving grace lovely reasonable pub/restaurant within a few minutes walk.

We stayed in 003.
We stayed in 003. Very spacious but this is what facilities I should have had.
The spacious family room features a tea and coffee maker and a seating area, as well as a private bathroom boasting a bath. The well-equipped kitchen has a refrigerator, kitchenware, a microwave and a toaster. This family room features a sofa, heating and a flat-screen TV. The unit has 2 beds.
All we got was the tea & coffee making facilities. Table in there but nothing else.
Rooms spacious but found lounge & beds very uncomfortable. Thankfully only stayed the one night.
Quiet & grounds lovely.

The town centre has loads of shops and a large indoor shopping centre. There are several parks and lots of green space available. There was a huge choice of cafes, restaurants and pubs for all price brackets. We went to the 1865 club which holds lots of musical events. We were a bit concerned doing the 30 minute walk through the parks when the event finnished, however we saw at least 3 separate groups of police walking around the town and parks so felt very safe.

We had a really good stay with several nice meals, Found the people very pleasant and helpful. Really good shopping centres. Town was not too big and by the sea with several parks. There was something for all ages. Had all the major entertainments like cinema and ten pin bowling. Lovely museum and art gallery - well worth a visit.

Southampton is a little under-rated as an historic town.
Southampton is a little under-rated as an historic town. The walls are virtually complete on one side, there is one of England's best town gates and there are several old buildings to visit. The Art Gallery is just about the best south of London and the Sea City Museum is well worth a visit- especially for the Titanic story.

The hotels are very close to the airport, there are many restaurants close to the hotel and IKEA was just next door, which is open till 9 pm. This Novotel
also a gym and a swimming pool which we did not use but did look very inviting
This hotel is excellent value for money. We will definitely use again. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. They were happy to call taxi service. Nothing was too much trouble. In the centre of town so everything is close. Breakfast was good and typical English breakfast with choices of cereals and yogurts, fruit. A very good selection. Room was spotless. Bar with very good atmosphere and selection of beers. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Southampton. We will definitely be back .Bernie and Kevin Overy
Highly recommend The Lighthouse. 5⭐
Great easy check in.
Very clean, bright and comfortable accommodation.
Lovely welcome basket of bread, cereals . Fridge had milk, wine and beer . Lovely touch 😊
Excellent location for what we needed and very quiet
Excellent communication with owners from booking. We had a minor issue in the accommodation and it was dealt with on the same day by Ian. Thank you
We will be returning next time we are visiting our son. So much better than hotels we have stayed in in Southampton
Wow the hotel was so lovely,I informed them it was for our Anniversary and our room was upgraded and we had a lovely bottle of prosecco on ice and chocolates and a card in our room with rose petals such a lovely touch and very much appreciated thankyou so much 😍.we
made use of the pool and facilities before going out in the evening.
Such a lovely clean hotel breakfast was fab and all staff lovely and friendly.
Thankyou for a great stay i would return to this hotel again if I stayed in Southampton again, superb
This is an old hotel in an excellent location on main high street but it should have been modernised by now instead it lives off its location to service a flow of coach parties using Southampton port. Water just above body temperature in morning, only paper cups at breakfast buffet. Useful only for its location right in the centre of the Southampton right by main shopping area and restaurants, otherwise a out of town premiere inn will probably provide a better room and breakfast
The breakfast was superb - apart form the re-hydrated Scrambled egg. Everything was beautifully presented and the food area was spotlessly clean. Great selection of tasty foods. Something for everyone.
The lighting in the room / bathroom was lovely.
The communal social areas were fabulous.
pillows were super comfy
Plenty of sockets and charging spaces around the hotel.
Nice touch with the welcome drink.
The location is good and the price is fair but the property is not easy to access as entry codes are not provided early enough to allow us to receive them before departing from our home country. Having no internet access in the UK, it made it almost impossible to enter the hotel without the help of a kind stranger who had internet access.
Fantastic location ; easy to walk into Southampton to the shops and theatre . Despite being on busy road , quiet and rooms at back of the hotel have a great view over the old walls . The staff were so warm , welcome and friendly , the food was fantastic and the rooms were spacious , clean and comfortable. We will definitely be back .
Location close to the Cruise Terminal was great. Southampton is a major cruise port in Southern England. The bed was comfortable. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was just okay. It's a bar/cafe combo without much variety.
Staff handled an issue with the room well (and seemed embarrassed as well).
Couldn't have asked for a better experience. From check in to check out, everything was perfect. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to accomodate all of our needs. Will be return? Without question. The very next time our travels take us to Southampton.
Great location . Plenty of space for gathering friends. Food available ( though not really a place to eat )
Chilled place to be . It is always our hotel of choice in Southampton and have stayed here quite a few times 🎱
The rooms in this historic hotel had all the modern conveniences while keeping the Old World charm. The breakfast was great. We had fun in the evening in the hotel's bar with the very engaging staff.
The apartment was exactly what we needed in the part of town we wanted to stay. It was clean, well furnished, and comfortable. Will definitely stay there again when visiting Southampton.
room clean, food good value we have stayed before and will be staying again when we cruise from Southampton in May. Just a short trip to the port from the hotel
