Very central with lovely views across the bay. We had the number 12 stateroom- two four poster beds & enough room to have a dance! The 12 windows made it exceptionally light with unbelievable views of the harbour & beyond.

Oban is a city built around a late 18th-century distillery that produces one of the finest single malt whiskeys in Scotland. This normally peaceful town is invaded during summer when tourists use it as a base to visit the Inner Hebrides islands such as Mull, Lismore and Coll, supporting its status as the Gateway to the Isles.
The horseshoe-shaped Oban Bay is sheltered by Kerrera Island with its spectacular Gylen Castle. Award-winning seafood restaurants and lively pubs line George Street and the waterfront of Corran Esplanade adjacent to the harbour.
Take a short walk up the hill to McCaig’s Tower, a structure based on the Roman Colosseum, for the finest views of Oban’s centre and the outer islands. When you get back down to sea level, stroll into and stumble out of the Oban whiskey distillery after sampling the local version of the 'water of life'.
Admire the coastal scenery as you travel a bit out of town to the 7th-century ruins of Dunollie Castle, home of the Clan MacDougall. The Firth of Lorn gives visitors a fanatstic opportunity to try some sea kayaking.
As the capital of North Argyll, Oban has a great selection of hotels, guest houses and B&Bs available on Booking.com.

Oban is a delightful seaside town that offers very good restaurants, shopping (small shops with nice merchandise) and the ability to enjoy the beauty of the bay and all of its activity. Oban makes a great base for exploring the area of walks/hikes, going out on small boat short duration trips to see wildlife, lots of castles to visit or to take the ferry out to the islands. Taxi service is plentiful as are private tour guides.

Bustling little port at centre of Highland area, ferries to outer and inner islands. Train station if no car, plus reasonable bus service to places of interest, eg. Dunstaffnage Castle and Oceanic research facility at Dunbeg etc. Try a ferry visit to Mull and look out for seals , dolphins, etc.
Excellent shops and restaurants, all in small scale and within easy walking distance.
Lots of points of interest and if weather nice, very hard to beat. Great for Families with young children and Oldies as well.

GORGEOUS little port town. Lots of lovely little shops, an interesting war time museum, and excellent food and drink in the numerous cafes, bars, and restaurants. Easy access to travel by bus, ferries, and trains.
Walked (some of us VERY SLOWLY!) up the hill to McCaig's Tower and enjoyed the spectacular views; followed by a delicious late lunch at Cuan Mor.

Absolutely perfect location .
Absolutely perfect location . The rooms are gorgeous with everything you need from tea coffee milk to hairdryer and iron if you need to use one I would give the hotel top marks the staff were all friendly . Unfortunately I we didn't eat in the hotel but we definitely will next time
This is a very nice family style hotel with great views of the water. Room was comfortable, nice bathroom and a walkout balcony with a table and chairs and a terrific view of the water and bridge. Very quiet. They are located about 12 min. from Oban and an ideal location for us. Oban can be a bit hectic. Breakfasts were absolutely wonderful with a wide variety of choices and fixed to order. We ate 2 evening meals in the dinning room and they were delicious. The dinning room looks out over a beautiful lawn and water.
Beautifully decorated room with a spacious, modern bathroom. We had a lovely view of the waterfront, which was ideal. The bed/bedding was extremely comfortable. We appreciated the coffee/tea station, which was well-stocked, along with complimentary water and cookies. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is centrally located so we walked most of the time to local destinations. The seafood in Oban, especially on the pier, is exceptional. If you want a perfect city-center spot, The Perle Oban is the place to be!
If you want: a clean, albeit small hotel room (we are never in the room much anyways so does it matter?!), VERY central location walkable to the city center of Oban, friendly staff (we never had breakfast there, though), easy check-in and out, parking available nearby although not on property... this is a great option in Oban! We had a room with a private but unattached bathroom which worked fine for my husband and I but would probably not work for children.
The rooms were extremely clean (good sign when dog doesn't endlessly sniff the carpet!) Great sea view. Staff incredibly helpful, comfortable bed, food excellent - proper Scottish fare. Extremely pet friendly hotel for a brilliant price. Stayed in the winter and room was lovely and warm. Closer to Oban centre than appears on google maps. I will return.
Such an incredible, unique property with a rich history and incredible location in the Highlands! rhe hotel has gorgeous decor and is in an idyllic setting close to Oban town center. It’s run by the sweetest family that went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect for our honeymoon and to ensure we were comfortable during our stay!

The excellent whisky bar attached to the hotel had a fine range of well priced drams and excellent friendly recommendations from all bar staff.
The hotel is in a good location in Oban - right on the Esplanade - and has parking, although there is a charge. The rooms have superb views of all the ferries coming and going to the islands. Breakfast was very good. Staff were very pleasant.
The Royal Hotel Oban is so near the station, ferry and everything that makes Oban a wonderful holiday destination. The 24/7 very professional staff at the entrance give full security and this lets you relax to enjoy your holiday.
I liked everything about this hotel, could not find any faults. Rooms immaculate good size , spotlessly clean. Staff very friendly, couldn’t do enough for you. Excellent breakfast and evening meal. View onto Oban bay beautiful.
Charming hotel. Remarkable location. Very helpful staff. It is a Victorian hotel, and yes, it shows its age. It served every one of my expectations. If one wants something more modern, stay in the Hilton. Highly recommended.
This beautifully renovated boutique hotel has been our favorite while visiting Scotland. Staff was wonderfully accommodating, especially Cameron, food was delicious, and the room appointments were comfortable and beautiful.
