if this was expensive id have given a 5 or 6, but its very cheap considering how close it is to the airport
does it look tired? yes... is it very basic? yes... but do these things need addressing? no (as that will surely put the price up)
its a one night place for the airport and nobody would be staying here for their holiday, so it does the job :-)

Such a cute little place to stay if you have an early morning flight at Stansted! The place was spotless and even had some snacks/drinks you could buy.
Just make sure you book a taxi to the airport in advance as Uber is not available out there and a lot of taxis were booked up.
Just 5 minutes from Stansted Airport, this hotel offers breakfasts and dinner at the hotel restaurant. Central London is only a 45-minute train journey away.

Everything in the room was as expected. Could've used an extra outlet for the fan closer to the corner of the room, but glad they provided a fan to begin with. Also needed to print out a boarding pass and reception was kind enough to print it out for me.

Food was not bad but don't think they cooked it. Think it could have been a takeout bought in. The hotel is having a make over so should not be used. Also I think other people were living there......

Bed was very comfortable and facilities in the room were good.
Atmosphere in the public area (dining and bar) was a little lacking. Seating for a group of four having drinks just didn't exist - we ended up sitting on two settees that were alongside each other, ie four people sitting in a long line rather than facing each other. A few moveable chairs that could be used to create more of a 'group' setting would be a great improvement.

Quiet, small, comfortable self contained village. it has a Tesco Express open till 23:00 a Fish and Chip Shop and a pub called the Crown with a large garden where you can also get food.
We bought our evening meal at the Fish and Chip shop (good average quality) and got what we needed for a very nice Breakfast at our shared kitchen, self-catering accommodation at the Tesco Express.
The village is well kept and tidy and has some interesting little onuments.

This was disappointing .
This was disappointing . Tired, damaged rooms and a break fast with no choice and not even asked what we wanted. Nothing different for 10 and 8 year old children either. Damage to walls and taps which fired water everywhere. I wouldn't recommend.

Excellent, friendly and well appointed hotel.
Excellent, friendly and well appointed hotel. Loved its quirkiness and individuality. Large, comfortable and clean bedroom. The restaurant food was also extremely good especially for the price. The only downside is that there is no internet in the bedrooms although you could be lucky and find yourself in one that their internet reaches.

We got a very warm welcome on arrival although it was the early hours of the morning, we were shown the kitchen and how to help ourselves to tea and coffee, and then our bedroom which was very comfortable with en-suite, tv etc.
Stansted lodge is fun. It's quirky in a way, but perfect to stay overnight when in transit at Stansted airport. The bus took about 25 minutes and the train about 20 (with the train to the airport you have to change train once, but very easy). Elsenham is really small and cute and the lodge is in a residential area. Everything was self check in and it worked perfectly. We'd totally recommend if your tired of boring hotel rooms and airport accommodations.
The reality exceeds the pictures on the website. All elements of the property selected with a great taste of the owners. The shape of the condition, linens, towels etc is exceptional. The distance from the airport is very comfortable and reasonable. At the same time you stay in a silent peaceful place to have a great sleep rather than staying in the airport hotel that are usually extremely noisy and poor
The self check in system was incredibly convenient. I didn't arrive until very early in the morning because I flew in from Stansted, but this wasn't an issue as I could go straight in to my room using the system. Speaking of, it's also very cheap compared to other locations a similar distance from Stansted, a stay here and a taxi are still cheaper than a stay in an on site hotel.
Nice simple accommodation close to Stansted Airport. The lodge was a short walk from the Elsenham Station, which is connected well to all the tube stations around London. The commute from central London via the train was only 50 minutes approximately. Overall, the room was clean and so were the bathrooms. Very good value for money.
Let’s be clear here - the Hotel is 3.5 miles from the airport at least, probably more. It has no shuttle bus. Only accessible by taxi. Which because of the taxi thiefdom operating at Stansted Airport, means a £46 round trip. I didn’t like anything about the hotel.
The property was immaculate, excellent contact from the owners and the apartment had everything we needed. The property is super close to Stansted airport and was perfect for our stopover, so much nicer than any of the airport hotels. Fully recommend!
There's a Tesco Express right around the corner, and it's a short walk from the property to Elsenham Station for easy access to Cambridge or London. The room was well-equipped and cosy. There were good instructions to check in and out.
Breakfast was reasonably priced and not bad. Staff were friendly and helpful. Everything seemed clean but I never received any wash cloths and last night only one towel. Hotel decor was interesting and different.
Receptionist was fantastic !! Extra helpful, friendly and professional.
The room was large and comfortable, the food was good and I also liked the minibus service to the airport from the hotel.
The rooms and hotel were well-decorated and in good shape. The design of the hotel was very eclectic and the differences in rooms and decorations were refreshing.
Double bed comfortable , hot shower good. Staff friendly .My son saw other rooms on way out of hotel and said they looked much more modern than our room .
