The hotel location is fantastic, it is in the middle of the town and you can see the whole town from the hotel. Hotel is not on the Hight but still great view.
Room size for the family of 4 was great. Restaurant view and food was fantastic too.
Breakfast could be improve though, but it was not bad.

Eidfjord is a very practical location since from there is access to many activities and visits that I would recommend such as Vøringsfossen, Kjeåsen, Norsk Natursenter - Hardanger and a lot of sensational excursions. Apart from that you have Hardangerfjord, the Ulvik/Voss area, Hardangervidda just a few kilometers away by car.
And the town is small, quiet and charming.

Eidfjors is an idyllic place with many things to do or enjoy. As main attractions you have the waterfall of Vøringsfossen, the norwegian nature center museum and the farms and views of Kjeåsen. Apart from that, other spectacular waterfalls and fantastic hikes. It is also a good place to relax and do nothing.

There is some great hiking in the area.
There is some great hiking in the area. We took the trail to the foot of Voringsfossen waterfall, which gave a different perspective from the viewpoints along the road. The hike to Kjeasen mountain farm is a lot of fun, with a few scrambles on the way up. This is quite steep and slippy in places so best done on a dry day. The views from the top are stunning.
We also did a day trip to Bergen from Eidfjord, if you have a car it is doable to go there and back in a day.
Eidfjord itself is very small and easy to get around. We mainly ate in our hotel (Eidfjord Fjell and Fjord Hotel) which was very nice to go for dinner.
The setting is beautiful between high mountains next to a running river. We enjoyed exploring the surroundings like the Øvre Eidfjord hike (see the Alltrails app) and the beautiful views from Kjeåsen a short drive away. The accommodation is an old charming building renovated to a very nice modern standard. The house was clean and well equipped. There is a full kitchen, a living room, two bedrooms, and two toilets (one with a shower and laundry). Gina was a very helpful and service minded host.
We loved the common area of the hotel, it has amazing views of the fiord.
Our room didn´t have a fjord view but it was a nice one as well. The room was an OK size, not super small but not super big. There was free parking. But, it was also within walking distance to many places in the city.
We loved the breakfast, it was great, with many options.
Had dinner at the hotels restaurant, got a free dessert. Good looks but taste was nothing out of the ordinary.
The building was easy to find - right on the bank of the fjord, next to the highway. The owner was easy to reach. The two-room apartment was well well-equipped, way big enough, and had its own balcony. We could have stayed longer if it was not about a road trip in Norway. For sure, we would like to get back once in the future. The little town of Eidfjord is also a charming one within walking distance of the building.
Historic hotel, full of charm and detail. Friendly staff, limited menu but great food value food for evening meal. Breakfast was excellent, usual stuff plus pancakes.
Maybe not for those who like everything new, modern and expect every modern convenience away with them, but if you like to experience character and interest, this place is a must.
Will return to Norway again and make sure this place is en route
Ole Johnny is simply the best and made the difference in our experience as he repeatedly went out of his way to ensure our satisfaction. Would return just to see him !
Included breakfast was sensational.
Can’t wait until the room refurbishment later this year.
Free parking is a real plus as parking cost in Norway are outrageous
Eidsfjord is beautiful as is this hotel’s external architecture
Beautiful, peaceful place right in the middle of mountains. Calming lake, waterfalls. Cabins are perfectly located. Location itself is great, plenty of activities nearby. Close to Eidfjord where you can make groceries, book cruises or borrow bicycles. Owner is really friendly and helpful. In the cabin we found everything we needed. Bathroom has floor heating. Can recommend without doubts.
Friendly, helpful staff – felt more like a family than a hotel. Nice breakfast with freshly cooked omelettes. Comfortable, spacious, modern hotel room. Only 9 rooms on the property; all on the ground floor. Comfortable lounge area with free tea. The owners run an adventure travel company (kayaking, biking, etc.) as well.
Amazing view of the Eidfjord from our room and the dining room. Easy 5 minute walk to the fjord, restaurants, and shops. The restaurant is wonderful and the breakfast great. They even packed us a “take away” breakfast for the one morning that we planned to leave the hotel early! Super friendly and helpful staff!
The hotel location is fantastic, it is in the middle of the town and you can see the whole town from the hotel. Hotel is not on the Hight but still great view.
Room size for the family of 4 was great. Restaurant view and food was fantastic too.
Breakfast could be improve though, but it was not bad.
We loved the dinning room and the views from there. The location is great if you are exploring Norway. The staff member was very helpful. He helped us plan our day trip as our initial plans did not work out due to bad weather. The next day he even gave us some more pointers.
Very nice located small pension directly in the small city of Eidfjord.
The dinner (Köttbullar) we could get at the Vik Pension was excellent and one of the best dinner we had during our holidays in Norway.
The breakfast was good, room was comfortable and nice!
Great location, very close to the Hardangerfjord and the Voringfossen waterfall. The facilities were very clean and the room was very cozy, and the staff was attentive too. Nice breakfast to start the day.
The staff were great. They upgraded us to a larger family room with a second attached bedroom when they saw my son was older than they had expected.
Also the view from the hotel is amazing.
Great location providing a spectacular trail just in front of the hotel with a view of a major waterfall. Although the hotel was sold out, it was extremely quiet.
