Kennedy at the Bar is a class act and the front man to the resort. He and the staff go out of their way to make your trip a memorable one. We look forward to spending future anniversaries back at our 2nd home. Couples massage was a very nice touch

Easy town to move around. Not that many pedestrian walkways.
Easy town to move around. Not that many pedestrian walkways. From my last visit(2023) there is an upgrade though.
Need for more coffee places.
The beach areas could be more cleaner.
For coffee and lovely delicious snacks,go to Malaika restaurant opposite the Buntwani Beach Front.
Walking is the healthiest way to move around Malindi, just don't give a visual contact with the boda boda taxis( you will ride unwillingly!)
Avoid the Tikka chicken with coloured(yellow) spicing.

The information on Booking.com about Malindi is an accurate representation of what I found on site. I visited the following places:
Galana Shopping Centre
Vasco da Gama Pillar
Portuguese Chapel
Malindi Marine National Park.
I occasionally ate out from a wide range of restaurants in the city centre. It was quite easy to move around Malindi and I currently have no experience of places to avoid while in Malindi.

Laid back lifestyle, great beaches, wonderful Italian pizzas. Vasco Da Gama pillar and Portuguese chapel are right there. Museums need updating. Not a huge amount to do in Malindi but if you want to get out and about, Hell's Kitchen in Marafa is worth visiting. It is a mini mini Grand Canyon. Karibuni villas in Mambrui is also nice - clearest sea water you ever saw.
Great location right on the beach, the pool is amazing and just in front of the rooms. The rooms with balcony are definitely great as they give access to pool and garden right out of the door. Kitchen is a plus and definitely important here since the hotel does not have any dining facility nor breakfast. The Malindi village is reachable via tuk tuk or a 30 mins walk, there are not many restaurants arpound Diwani hotel but tuk tuk rides are cheap. The room are well maintained and kept clean, and so i the garden. All in all a good experience!
Beautiful property with amazing pool and very nice rooms and fully stocked kitchen. We went during low season so there were not many other people staying there, but we felt safe and enjoyed the quiet. Very nice covered outdoor seating area with comfortable couches and chairs. Beds very comfy and AC in the rooms and hot water in the shower. Not far from the road, where you can find bodas easily. Very near Billionaire Resort and not far from other nice parts of the beach/town. There's a cute tortoise on the property too!
The staff was amazing! The manager and Owner as well. Friendly and just felt like family.
The pool was clean and deep(3m).
The beach is next to the apartment/hotel.
Every weekend there would be something happening. Ie DJ and band.
Vasco de Gama was close by. Swahili dishes restaurant and Pizzerias near by. Made daily life easier.
It was so great I stayed here from Dec till Jan! For three weeks! Sarah, Martin, Fiona and the rest of the team, Thank you for a great stay!
The personal touch from the owners 👌🏾. They made us feel at home and would go out of their way to help us experience the vibe and culture in Malindi. Imelda is really a special one. Very friendly and helpful. All the staff were so pleasant and really helpful. The food was also so delicious.
I spent my birthday here and they made it super special for me.
I would definitely recommend Lions' luxury Eco Resort and Spa to anyone visiting Malindi.
We had a good stay at Sandies. The staff was super friendly and helpful,Brian by the pool bar gave exceptional service, always smiling and welcoming. We liked the buffet meals and nice cocktails.Had All inclusive and it was worth it.There was security on the beach which helped with hawkers.Super close to the Airport. Our PCR test for return to our country was arranged effortlessly by reception and the samples were taken in our room.
The photos of the place, don’t do it any justice, the ambience is amazing. Well maintained, even to the hen house. There were peacocks on the property that was a beautiful thing to see after a very long time. Access to beach is at walking distance. Access to various sites and the town was only a short Tuktuk (keke) ride. We, However , walked to many of the sites…
Wonderful, beautiful location with absolutely wonderful staff, and only a 5 minute walk from the beach. We planned to stay for 1 night as a cheap emergency solution but ended up staying for 4 nights instead. Morris and the rest of the staff are great.
The beach next to the hotel offers amazing coral diving, find the guide named Ali if you can, he's awesome.
The premises has excellent facilities with the different swimming pools and outdoor area. Access to the beach was convenient for me. I was travelling for work and the refreshing break was handy. I was able to work online at one of the outdoor spaces, while facing the beach. It is also an ideal holiday destination.
This hotel has great potential! Built next to a huge Baobab tree that provides shade for a sitting arrangement, it has a lovely Tuscany-Swahili architecture and the pool is just fine. The location is close to shopping and downtown area, though more noisy and smelly (waste burning) as the hotels closer to the beach.
The host is your plug for everything you may need in your stay from hotels to transport and night clubs. The caretaker is super friendly as well. The place is gorgeous with a 24 hour pool. It is adjacent to a beautiful hotel, Ocean beach resort, so thats a plus. Would highly recommend. I will definitely be back .
The facility was clean and serene. The staff was very friendly. It is not far from the beach. The swimming pool is a nice addition as well. The place is cleaned throughout the day, which is very, very nice. The air-conditioned rooms make sleeping more comfortable. Overall 8/10
The breakfast was lovely and the village grounds are BEAUTIFUL. The staff (minus the issue we had when initially checking in) is SO NICE!! Everyone greets you and is super helpful. The fact that the hotel is beach side is a plus!! Beautiful views of the ocean, beautiful beach
Loved the promptness of the staff whenever I needed them especially Fondo. He was really helpful & patient....
Loved how airy the room & it's proximity to the beach, restaurants & town...
I would definitely stay at Diwani cottages again...
We had a very nice staying at Kenyan House. The house is amazing and we felt like at home. Highly recommended. The staff is very welcoming and helpful.
