The Quinta was very nice. Bed was extremely comfortable. There was a fireplace but we didn't use. Beautiful flowers around the grounds. The location is up in the mountains about 1/2 hour from Funchal. There was a Sunday market in town as well as some small markets and places to eat. A storm Monday night took out the electricity when we awoke in the morning. Very clean place and lots of room. We had a 1 bedroom unit. Was great to have a kitchen and fridge to make coffee in the morning.

The chalet was spacious, clean and comfortable and even with the windows open at night the aircraft noise did not disrupt my sleep though I was bothered by mosquitoes on my last night.
Lovely to have use of a washing machine and detergent and to have a drying rack available in the chalet.

Santa Cruz is a small seaside village at the end of the runway. There are enough cafes and restaurants to keep you occupied along with some nice little parks and a good play ground if you have kids. The weather is just perfect.

Very good service by everybody, even the manager helped me get my car out, the breakfast staff did food for my special needs, the reception were very welcoming, it was clean & modern & I liked the mint water & that the hotel has a private garage.
Very good standard close to the airport & the small town center.
Only minus was that I'd wished for a heated jacuzzi .-)

Nice village from were to start exploring the eastern part of Madeira. The airport and the motorway are nearby and you'll be in Funchal in 30min. by car.
There isn't much to do in Santa Cruz but there is a few bars and restaurants to enjoy the evening, a public swimming pool, a couple of shops and you can spend some time on the beach.

The house located between Garajau and Canico.
The house located between Garajau and Canico. Cristo Rei in Garajau is a must to visit. Here hop on the cable car and take a look to Garajau beach. The beach is stony, there're much more nicer beaches to visit. Worth to eat at Talho do Canico, a tarditional grill bar in the centre of Canico. Taste tangerine poncha in La Carbonara in Garajau, the closest bar to the house.
If you visit Madeira in April don't miss out the flower carneval in Funchal!
Visit Sanatana to see the old traditional triangle shaped houses and visit Faial and Porto Moniz for the spectacular beach views.

I would say, Santa Cruz is not worth visiting unless you have an early flight... There is nothing special to see. The Palm beach does not seem very nice and clean (there are big black stones on the beach - they are not comfortable to lay and to go to swim).
The marina is quite short and it finishes by the swimming pool and the akvapark, but they were closed in March.
I had a dinner at the restaurant Biletheira and the tuna steak was really good (12 Eur)!
Santa Cruz is very near Funchal, so you can go to Funchal by bus and you can spend your time in the capital city.
The stay at this hostel exceeded our expectations. We chose it because of its location near the airport. Initially we were afraid of the noise but in our room we did not hear any noise from the airplanes nor the restaurants and the beaches that surround it. Very comfortable beds and a very good location. Best nights slept on the islands were in this hotel. Bus Expresso to Funchal and Machico is only 5min away by foot. Very underrated accomodation where we very much enjoyed our (short) stay. Aircon was a very precious plus, game changing !
The location is very conveniently placed next to the airport, while still being very peaceful and calm. Santa Cruz, a little town in the southeast of Madeira is a sleepy little place with a lot of good restaurants and a nice pebble beach. There’s car rental in the city, so you can get anywhere from here. Funchal is a 10-15 minute drive away, too.
The breakfast was good, nothing extraordinary but you also won’t miss a lot of things. The cleanliness and comfort of the hotel rooms is exceptional for the price.
Everything at the highest level. Equipment in the house is new - from the kettle to the washing machine, iron, large fridge to pots. Purely. Fast wi-fi. Close to shops, restaurants, beach and bus stop. Because all of Santa Cruz is located near the airport, you can hear planes landing, but it's not the fault of the house owner. Contact with the owner sensational, if I needed something, it was enough to write / call. A week spent in great conditions. I recommend.
Ana and Joao, our hosts, were superb! Beautiful island, stunning scenery, wonderful hosts (worth repeating!!!) and accommodation, and the warm, welcoming, kind Madeiran people. Had a magnificent time! Oh, and the food and restaurants are top class, most especially in Santa Cruz! We were also able to do some 'planespotting' due to the residences' proximity to the airport, but there was no issue whatsoever with noise. I was very, very sad to leave!!!
Prices are excellent, I have stayed for 9 nights with a friend and honestly I am so happy we found this place.
The room was lovely, super clean with a comfortable bed.
The beach si very close, 1 min walking.
The hotel has a restaurant on the ground floor where the food is very good and the staff are friendly.
So happy with our stay that actually I was sad to leave! And definitely will back there and will recommend this place to others.
Good hotel very close to airport (4 min with a car). Room was nice and clean, quiet in the night. Nice pool and sun terrace area. Pool is not heated but it was round 20C so it was good for short swim:) Great view. Very close to town center. Small parking in front of hotel, but big public parking 100m away. Great option for early flights or late arrivals to Madeira. Very nice and useful staff.
Gorgeous apartment in a great location just a short walk from Santa Cruz town. The family who own the apartment live upstairs in a separate property and couldn't do enough for us! They drove us back up the hill one evening after dinner and to the airport on our last day. We would totally recommend staying here and the restaurants in Santa Cruz are fantastic!
Very friendly and guest-oriented staff who do their best to make us feel at home.
The hotel grounds are well maintained and green.
The outdoor pool is heated to a comfortable temperature. The ocean pool offers a magnificent panoramic view of the ocean and Santa Cruz bay. Breakfast and dinner were incredible.
Thank you for a lovely stay. Everything was 10/10.
This is a small hotel right in the centre of Santa Cruz, a couple of minutes on foot to the beautiful promenade. The room was really spacious, spotlessly clean, very comfortable and decorated in a traditional Madeirense style. We loved the mosaics in the hallway, too. The staff are very attentive and friendly. The Wi-Fi worked great.
This hotel is in walking distance from airport (it took us ~20 min) and village is nice with beach area and restaurants. Hotel room was comfortable and clean + we had super great breakfast included. Stayed twice - in arrival date and day before flying home. Helpful stuff as well.
Close to Santa Cruz (20 min walk) and the beaches, clean. Very responsive and nice host who spoke Portuguese, English, and Spanish. Gated parking lot and 1 spot included. Secure entry and exit into the building.
I loved the view out over the pool and out to sea. The hotel is well located with an easy walk along the waterfront, and there was plenty to do in Santa Cruz for a short relaxing trip.
Spacious, modern apartment on the top floor. Comfy couch, small tv.
Great outside balcony with seating.
Beautiful view of the sea, village and airport runway.
Not much noise.
The location is great for a last night before taking the plane back home even though parking a car in Santa Cruz is not that esay and also for the restaurants which are all around.
Very spacious and clean with a great view. Modern and comfortable. Centrally located in Santa Cruz but since it’s close to the main highway, it’s easy to go anywhere else.
