A beautiful location with views all the way up and down the coastline. Gorgeous! The staff are extremely friendly and the breakfast buffet is excellent. We were walking from the Coastal Camino to the Central Portuguese and took a small detour from our route along the cycling path from Póvoa de Varzim to stay here. It’s a little out of the way but very doable for walkers, and from what I hear, a little longer but better than the other crossover routes.
Surrounded by a garden with palm trees and bushes, Varzinn Hotel offers modern rooms with lots of daylight and garden views. Guests can benefit from 24-hour reception services.

This is a popular resort with Portuguese families who make up the huge majority of visitors here - not many Brits and not much English spoken. Big clean beaches - sea very cold even in July, Huge activity on the beach - these people play Basketball and Beach Volleyball all day and all night! Vast range of restaurants and other bars etc, and all very reasonably priced - did not feel we were paying the same prices we were paying in Porto itself.

Great beaches
Unattractive modern town with nice historic plaza but too many nondescript high rise blocks for my taste.
Inexpensive good value restaurants offering great traditional portuguese dishes

Povoa is a great city.
Povoa is a great city. The beach is wonderful, the people are great, and there is plenty to do within the immediate area (Povoa and Vila do Conde). Povoa is also very close to Porto, Braga, Viana do Castelo, and a host of other cool places. The beach is clean and nice.

If you would like to make a fantastic holiday in a local area near Porto. I would suggest this place. This area just 20 minutes from the Airport and the beach is beautiful. I felt the local shops and restaurants aren't expensive at all.

Povoa De Varzim is a bustling little seaside town with everything you could want as a visitor. Mostly popular with Portuguese so English visitors that like home from home (menus in english etc) might wish to think carefully but otherwise I would definitely return. Safe, clean and easily accessible by car or rail.

Excellent apartment at the beachfront. Ideal for conferences in Axis Vermar.
Three nice bedrooms, two bathrooms (of which one is ensuite) and a living room with kitchen.
Highlight of the apartment is its terrace with beautiful views on the sea.
Convenient shutters in the bedrooms allow for a dark room, which is a big plus for us.
Friendly host and easy to contact for any questions you might have.
Darling little apartment mere steps from the beach. Hostess Inês was waiting for us. The apartment features a fully equipped kitchen with a modern stove/oven, livingi/eatng area, very large separate bedroom, spotless bathroom with shower and washing machine, and electric blinds. There's a grocery store about 5 minutes walk, and it's just over 10 minutes to the metro station.
I usted to stay few days in Póvoa de Varzim every year. Never stayed in a place that I could feel like home till now. Staff is 5 stars, all tidy and clean. All you need to cook and have a nice meal, new bathroom and shower, spacious room and comfortable mattress. And the cherry on top, a communal area that made me feel like I was in the Caribbean. Highly recommended.
The views are fantastic with the hotel on top of a large hill overlooking the whole area including the sea. Food was good with lunch time meal as well as evening meal. Good place to stay for a restful stop on our tour of Portugal, Spain and France. The restaurant staff were also very good.
The owner looked like our grandad a lovely man from start to finish ❤️ highly recommend. Gave us an area for bikes to charge got us adaptor , arranged take away for us. Had the cot ready with thick mattress and bedding. Massive buffet lovely food. Should be 7 star hotel at least.
It was just like home. Very warm hospitality by Helena. Good bed and location along the street that leads to the Camino Coastal Route. It even has a small garden at the back. There are beautiful churches, shops, and beach bars within a 1Km radius.
Great, comfortable unit, nice location. The kitchen, beds, bathrooms were all very nice and met expectations. Everything is very walkable in Povoa de Varzim and while this is not central it is within walking distance to almost everything.
A big thank you to all the staff who were so warm, friendly and caring. I got a lot of help from them. The hotel is very clean and hygienic, within walking distance to the beach, restaurants, shopping streets, very convenient
Location was excellent straight across from the beach with a most wonderful view from the balcony,
Apartment spotless, spacious, and had everything that we needed, would definitely stay there again if in the area.
Nice apartment, few steps from the beach, 2 bedrooms, nice for a family of 4, nice shower in the bathroom, all you need for a vacation with also washing machine inside, little balcony is a plus. Nice staff
Nice majestic old hotel - feels like another world. Lovely rooms. Staff facilitated us storing our bikes overnight as were cycling along the camino. Lots of nice restaurants nearby in the lovely resort.
While it is a big hotel it is very quiet and relaxing. The pool area is spacious and there are plenty sun loungers.. Proxmity to the beach is a bonus. Peaceful & quiet if that's what you're after
Very clean hotel and rooms, staff friendly and helpful, breakfast included with wide variety of nice food and drinks. Location handy for beaches (20 min walk), and local bars and restaurants.
