A typical seaside town that quietens down after the season.

A typical seaside town that quietens down after the season. We visited in February so almost everything was closed. It was lovely because there were no tourists and you could easily find a place in a restaurant (although it wasn't that easy to find an open restaurant). The center still has the feel of an old-type fishing village with tiny cute white and blue houses, but you can see and feel the pressure of the modern beach town which is just behind the old city center. Great beaches and amazing cliffs add to the attractiveness of Porto Covo both in winter and in summer.

Gorgeous spot to visit if you want to stear away from big crowds. Views are breathtaking with a bunch of beaches connected by caves and grottos. There really isn't much else there. A small little village with some eating facilities and a small supermarket. It's a perfect spot for one day and night. The fact that you can park your car wherever you please is also very nice.

Great location for beach goers, with multiple pristine, gorgeous coves in close walking proximity. Friendly staff; we were upgraded to an ocean front view room and they were able to accommodate our request for a late checkout, last day of our trip so we were able to enjoy the beach before our long flight home. Breakfast (included) was plentiful and offered many options. Our trip included stays at 5 hotels, this was the only one that actually had a stocked mini fridge.

Porto Covo is an attractive little town with a small fishing harbour. The Main Street has a lot of very touristy shops. A fair choice of restaurants to eat in but nothing special. It was easy to get to using the very efficient Portuguese bus service and a good place to start walking the Rota Vicentina.

    Beautiful little town. Nice restaurant.

Beautiful little town. Nice restaurant. Lovely little local fish and fruit market open in the mornings only. No main supermarket that I could see, only small local ones. But a beautiful beach and cove.

Sweet town, but very touristy feeling.

Sweet town, but very touristy feeling. Tour buses dropping people in, and the restaurants felt geared for tourists too. (though check out the pizza place in the main street, excellent). Great view from the coastline but not a swimmable beach. Really central to some great day trips, but I think there are better towns in the area for a longer stay. Check out the horseriding nearby, excellent.

Helena and José make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. The guesthouse has a lot of space to relax and a great outdoor area with a beautiful swimming pool, bbq and places to seat and enjoy the sun. My room had a good size and it was very comfortable You can get to Praia Grande and the trail to the main beaches of Porto Covo in less than 5 minutes by foot. You can also easily walk to the village with the main restaurants and bars in around 10 minutes. I definitely recommend staying here to enjoy some relaxing time in paradise.

The location was STUNNING. It's right on the water, we could see the sunset from our room, and the coast is gorgeous, quiet, and easily accessible from the room for peaceful walks and exploration. The room itself was rustic but well taken care of. Excellent water pressure, hot water, and WiFi worked well. The bed was also comfortable. The best thing about the room was that you could literally hear the waves from your window, it was so peaceful and the best night's sleep we had in portugal!

Lovely, warm & inviting place. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Lots of very nice touches. The staff went out of their way to be gracious and hospitable. Dinner was generous, and breakfast was excellent. The grounds were beautifully kept and truly enjoyed the animals. The animal sanctuary was well taken care of. Thank you Angela for the warm welcome. And thank you to Ryan and his family for taking great care of us.

The room is spacious with a dinning area and a small pantry with microwave, fridge and coffee machine. The swimming pool is directly accessible through a glass door, which would be very convenient in summer time when you can enjoy the sun. (I came in March which was still too cold to use the swimming pool.) The staff is friendly and helpful. They had electrical adaptor to lend to us during our stay.

The host was friendly, helpful, informative. The guest house had spacious, clean rooms, fully equipped. The shared kitchen had plenty of coffee, and we were offered a large bottle of beer. Terrace was beautiful, living room had books and games. Location was excellent--around the corner from restaurants, the grocery stores, and the beach. One of the best places at which we have stayed.

Nicolau was really helpful and provided us with lots of information for the Fisherman’s Trail. Porto Covo is a lovely little town and the hostel is located close to the centre. The kitchen has a coffee machine which was very welcome in the morning. All the guests were friendly. We stayed in one of the 2 double rooms.

Big, bright room, a bit empty but very well illuminated. Quiet surroundings. Good breakfast served in a restaurant with bare tables (no clothes) and plastic chairs. Large garage, very easy to drive in. Beautiful beach next to the hotel but be aware that you need to go down a lot of stairs.

Brand new hotel, you can literally smell it. There was an incident at the breakfast, but it was addressed to the director, and sure enough, the next morning they made sure it was properly corrected . That for us was a very positive sign Very friendly staff. Location is perfect .

The location was great. Just in front of a beach spot, another 70 meters from another spot for sunbathing and 200 meters from a surf spot for intermediate level. The pool, rooftop and chill- dinning spot was really nice. Staff was super friendly.
