Hotel Regua Douro, hotel in Peso da Régua

This hotel in Peso da Régua offers a splendid view of the Douro River and the green, mountainous landscape. Luxury amenities include an outdoor pool and massage treatments.

It is a very old hotel. The whole property either gets warm air or cold air. Unfortunately, the hotel staff decided they were chilly and the entire hotel was set to heat. The hotel has AC but the entire hotel either gets AC or heat. If you are either hot or cold and not in the populous, prepare to be uncomfortable.

We loved the welcome and helpful staff.

We loved the welcome and helpful staff. The room we had and views were excellent. we were able to extend our stay to go on a riverboat and steam train as well as visit Pocinho. The wine bar opposite the Museum was excellent and the Museum well worth a visit.

The Douro Valley is beautiful. Our stay was too short.

The Douro Valley is beautiful. Our stay was too short. The big thing I would encourage travelers to do is to make reservations and tour plans prior to visit. Wineries are often booked for bigger tours and not accepting drop ins.

We loved our stay. The family and staff are amazing! I can't emphasize how welcome we felt. The dinner was delicious and the port/wine parings lovely. They also arranged taxis for us on two occasions. Would love to come back.

Very friendly welcome but took a few minutes to gain access to the property. It was a 25 minute walk to the station but taxis readily available and affordable. Close to supermarkets. Tio Manel restaurant in Regua was excellent - in terms of food quality, service and pricing. Boat trips from Quayside to Pinhao and from there to a selection of Quintas. The Croft tour and tasting was very good - informative and good value for money.

A change of plans brought us to Porto - and a spontaneous trip to Douro Valley and we picked Quina Estrada from the net. We made an expert choice! What a delightful, warm, beautiful and comfortable place. So rich in history, family and culture. The people are helpful and genrous with their time and information.

It was the height of the tourist season (middle of August) and there was also a public holiday. The town was very busy and put quite a strain on restaurants and bars. Previous visits have been off season and the town copes a lot better, providing a more relaxed experience.

The location was breathtaking. Casa da Azenha owns vineyards around them and the garden area inspires tranquility and is well maintained. It is a relaxing place to be especially after traveling all day. It was comfortable and the rooms were very well kept. The people who worked there were extremely friendly. Maria was most helpful in providing places to see and do in the Douro Valley as well as local restaurants to eat at. The breakfasts were delicious…loved the fresh fruits and extraordinary baking.

We had an amazing stay. We highly recommend to do the wine tasting and dinner at the Quinta, this was absolutely wonderful. We got a four course delicious dinner on the terrace with view over the Douro river, with bottles of great quality wines and port and a great tour, all for only 45 euros, was definitely worth it. Also the delicious breakfast was served on the terrace. We also received a welcome drink. We had a window overlooking the Douro river in our room.

Short distance from Regua. Clean, modern, large comfy bed. Plenty of space and a great view to wake up to in the morning. Wonderful host that makes sure you have a great stay in Regua and the Douro valley! Peaceful and close to the smaller train station of Godim. The way to Regua is relatively flat compared to the otherwise steep hills - so visits to restaurants etc. don’t necessarily require a taxi ride.

Room and bathroom were large, newly renovated with good ac and awesome views. Owners and service were outstanding. The best location in all of Regua if you ask me. Pool was amazing after a hot day in the valley. Owners prepared us a delicious tapas/ dinner on the property upon request. The breakfast was included and equally delicious. Homemade yogurt jams honey . Small , exclusive and an amazing find.

Margarida was lovely and took excellent care of us. The view from the room is priceless. A lovely pool: clean and cold water helped us through the heat. The facilities and suite design is lovely. The location: 5 minutes drive from Pesua da Regua. Luis gave us a very nice wine tour through the Winery and we bought some nice wines/port to take home with us.

The centuries old facility was once a monastery. It is now a family owned winery, vineyard, agrohotel that produces some of the best port and wine in Portugal. The dinner they served was fabulous, the dogs were welcoming and the staff was fantastic!!!

At first it seemed like a cold business hotel, but Patrice at reception really went out of her way for me. She booked a winery tour and tasting for me at my next stop. As I was only staying one night, it was good to be near the train station.
