Quinta do Sol, hotel in Alijó

Located in Alijó, 9.9 mi from Pinhão, Quinta do Sol features a seasonal outdoor swimming pool and free WiFi.

The property is gorgeous, even better than the photos. The exterior is a true highlight, with a functional BBQ area, numerous seating areas, beautiful gardens, cozy hammocks, and areas to lounge by the pool. The interior is spotless, with thought put into every detail. We stayed in the bedroom with the balcony overlooking the vineyards, and it was equipped with everything a guest needs for a comfortable stay. Sara is sooo friendly, gracious, and welcoming— full of great recommendations, travel advice, and fun conversation.

A pleasant town, although lacking a little character...

A pleasant town, although lacking a little character compared to other local villages. However, there was clearly a lot of community pride and everything from the green spaces to the kids' playground was extremely well maintained. The locals are very friendly and helpful too, which always makes a difference, and the surrounding countryside is simply stunning. Finally, I must just note that it would be difficult to find anywhere that felt safer - young children were out in the playground at 9.00pm at night on their own; a welcome change from more unpleasant countries such as the UK.
