The location was superb; right at the harbour. It had AC which made it quite comfortable to sleep. They gave clear instructions for the Check-In and where to park your car, as the parking spots weren't right at the facility.

I had a beautiful, nicely decorated, spacious room and patio. Service was very attentive. I had to take a taxi from the port to get to Aria Cigala because of my luggage. After that, I walked to and from the main tourist areas. They don't offer dinner, but I ate while in the main part of town. They were very helpful with finding a taxi and with information about the bus from Bonifacio to Ajaccio Airport. The pool was heated to the perfect temperature; it was great for swimming. I have to be very careful with the sun, and there was a large umbrella on the patio, even though it was already somewhat shady because of the design. They seem to have thought of everything.

We only spent a few hours in Bonifacio itself but that was sufficient. The citadel is stunning, perched on the clifftops, but is best seen from outside if honest. We did not take a boat trip as they seemed excessively expensive and we were disappointed by the high cost of parking. But if you drive 5 minutes outside of the town, heading west, there is free parking on the road with a stunning walk across the cliffs to the town and citadel. This is, in fact, the best way to see the gravity defying town, balanced precariously on the edge of the cliffs.

The citadel and its surrounds gave plenty of exploration and shopping options. The port is also lovely to get boat trips, food and shop. There was plenty of choice of eating out places in both areas and two little basic supermarkets in the citadel and a large one at the port. The whole place is easy to get around but if you are not good at walking up and down stairs or slopes you can get the petit train at 6 euros a pop from the port to the citadel and back - All the group boat trips were fabulous with three price options to choose from 18 to 37 euro. I was there in early October and the weather was perfect in mid 20’s - still a lot of tourists around so quite busy but not totally seething. I don’t think I would go in high season.
I had a memorable week all round. Loved it and stayed 3 extra days. It does help if you have a little French as not much is translated to English.

The views and hikes are magnificent here.
The views and hikes are magnificent here. I would not want to come with kids or babies, as the omnipresent cobblestones, stairs and huge hills make for difficult transportation of little feet or strollers. It's not such a beach town, as the beach in the city was closed due to falling rocks and the next one nearby was a 5K hike through rocky conditions and sun (with unparalleled views of the sea cliffs). It's a good basis for beaches however, if you have a car and leave in the morning.

Bonifacio is probably the most beautiful city in Corsica.
Bonifacio is probably the most beautiful city in Corsica. Old town is very well preserved and less crowded vs others. Nature is amazing, incredible beaches and the views are just breathtaking. Plus, you can easily go for a day trip to Sardinia, so it's like having a 2in1 location.
FOOD: highly recommend L'Archivolto (local cuisine), but you need a reservation or come around 9 and wait until a table gets free. Also try Ciccio and La Cabane du Pecheur.

Citadella is beatiful, but the amount of people inside was not controlled. Too many people and the safety distance was not working (Corona). Wearing mask was not a must , Too many small shops for tourists. It worth going there, but information in advance is advisable,

I have been staying here for 12 days and was travelling around by car. Assume Bonifacio is just a perfect location to discover the South of Corsica and it may give additional benefits at warm season in terms of sea. I have enjoyed it's quietness and sites in winter. It was just a little tricky to find a meal. The town itself and the surroundings may be covered in 2-3 days. In case some spare time is left, Sardinia is very easy to reach.
Our junior suite had an extraordinary view over Bonifacio Harbour, with a stunning view of the Citadel and old town, this is a beautiful hotel. Large pool with a view of the harbour and old town and beautifully refurbished rooms and bathrooms I can not recommend this hotel enough. Staff very helpful. Free on site parking in a place where parking is a nightmare. Beautiful breakfast terrace. Be sure to book a room with a view.
Th hotel is located in front of a beautiful and peaceful marina in a very quiet area not too far away from
Bonifacio (10 minutes ride). The rooms are very comfortable and extremely clean. There is a free private car parking area where you can leave your car. Wi-Fi connection works fine.
An exceptional location with a view on the old town of Bonifacio. To fellow travellers, keep in mind that you need a car so you can move around to Bonifacio and other places, as the hotel is secluded and offers limited catering, aside from a fantastic breakfast and a very nice bar.
Outside of the hustle and bustle of Bonifacio, we were at the end of the property so very quiet but still within short walking distance of the pool. The bungalow was super clean with a nice patio with long chairs and a clothe hanger to dry towels and bathing suits.
Comfortable modern hotel in good location near to the harbour. Ten minute walk to the steps up to the upper town. Easy to find by car and free garage parking. Good breakfast. Good place to stay in Bonifacio, which is well worth a visit.
The reception person was very nice and welcoming, we had possibility to park a car in hotel parking lot. City center is really in walking distance, easily reached. Room was good for one night stay.
Marina at the desk was wonderful! Gave us excellent restaurant options and was quick to help us with any and all questions that we had. if i owned a hotel, I would want her working for me!!
We didn’t eat the breakfast. There is a steep hill to get to the hotel. We didn’t mind that because we are hikers. But for someone else this could be a problem. The view was wonderful!
location is excellent, huge outdoor terrasse with stunning views with the superior room, smallish but comfortable room , free parking (basically impossible to come by in Bonifacio)
Wonderful location right near the ferry exit and convenient to both the Harbour and Haut Ville parts of Bonifacio. Super parking lot with lots of shade right near the hotel!
friendly staff (although hardly ever at reception). nice location close to hikes to some beaches, light towers and ca 40 min walking to bonifacio with great views 😀
We loved our stay at Maroa.
We stayed only for one night during our road trip around Corsica. We love the calm, relaxing area. The breakfast was yummy !!!
