Bolzano is one of those cases that are difficult to describe without risking undermining its beauty and complexity. A witness of the conflicts and renaissance of Europe, this Italian city is the capital of the German speaking province of South Tyrol. Located in the Adige River Valley, it is surrounded by hills crowned by castles, and framed by the Dolomites Alps.
After reaching the local railway station, follow the Bahnhofsallee or Viale della Stazione and you’ll reach Walther Square, where the beautiful Cathedral of the Assumption of Our Lady is located. The shops along the arcaded street of Via dei Portici will lead you towards the market, located in Goethe Strasse. The display of colourful vegetables and flowers encompasses the beautiful buildings, while some of the best luxury hotels in Bolzano are located nearby.
The city is famous for its Christmas Market, but be aware that most of the hotels in Bolzano get sold out quickly during this time! A stroll around the old residential quarter of Gries and a visit to the many nearby castles is a must.
Whether you arrive at the local Dolomites Airport or the larger Verona Airport, check out the Bolzano accommodation deals on Booking.com before travelling!
Characterful town with interesting shops and restaurants.
Characterful town with interesting shops and restaurants. Also museums and places of cultural interest. Cable cars, buses, and trains all a reliable way of accessing the countryside and towns nearby like Merano.

It was so much better than we expected.
It was so much better than we expected. Perfect combination between Austrian and Italian culture. You could eat schnitzels ánd pasta in almost every restaurant. Not too touristy (we went in September). Within 15 minutes you could go to the mountains by cable car for little money. The mountains (via Oberbozen for example) were very beautiful, wide and quiet. You could take a 100 year old tram in Oberbozen that went through the little villages up the mountains. 100% coming back! Tip: go by train! It was very accessible, we came from Innsbruck which is only a 2 hr train ride from Bolzano, including breathtaking views.

We loved the South Tyrol Museum of Archeology, the MMM Fermian and the victory monument. Oberon Restaurant was an outstanding Pizza place and the staff are friendly too. We stayed at the Roma Ariston Apartments' and we had a great time there. The mountains around Bolzano were super cool and we highly recommend Bolzano.

I stopped at St Mary's rooms and apartments, I paid 5 euros for secure parking in their garage. I went down the next morning and found that the luggage panniers on my motorbike had been broken into. Spoilt my time there, as it was supposed to be secure parking, had to spend the rest of my day there at police station sorting it out. Would not recommend this place. Bolzano is a lovely place to visit, but not this accommodation

There was a music festival going on where I could see a lot of people wearing traditional clothing and play music. I also spontaneously visited the theatre which was a good experience. As the city has a moderate size everything is pretty close by. I also enjoyed the variety of food offered which is from typical regional one to italian. I can recommend Humus Bistro and Nussbaumer. And the best is the landscape as Bolzano is surrounded by these huge mountains. I also went to Oberbozen by cable car and did a hike to bee museum Plattner and attended Yoga classes from arise Body & Mind in Yoga room as well as in the park of Mondschein hotel. I also saw a lot of people biking. I can defined imaging to come back and do that next time.
- once you pass the gate you feel like entering a castle
- the parking area was incredible and convenient
- room service was very good
- premises was truly fascinating and cozy
- application of the tv was ok
- the backyard was the highlight of the hotel with - - - incredible pool view and nice cafe-like area (although no one was there to get any orders) was so calming and heart warming
- staff were professional and welcoming
The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. The staff was helpful, very friendly and welcoming. This historic hotel is located within walking distance of most of the places a tourist wants to visit and around the corner from the seilbahn going to Soprabolzano. We also received a Bolzano card which made getting around Bolzano easy and was also good for the museums and castles. I wish we could have stayed longer.
the property is new and has great room and restaurant. value for money is good and for a
sleep over during long travels to and from Germany/Austria into Italy is just perfect. restaurant serves great steaks and the staff is as friendly as it can get. our best regards to the great support from Immaculata at the front desk (thank you!) and Chiara at the restaurant. if I had to hire both would be be in my team. 👏👏👏
This was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. the view and facilities were beautiful, the restaurant and breakfast were delicious, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and they even provided us with the “Bolzano Card” (to use all public transportation, the cable car, and enter museums) when we checked in.
-Beautiful and quite place to stay
- Near Bolzano center, you can go on foot or a couple stops by bus
- Amazing breakfast and amazing restaurant, always have dinner there
- Good territory, especially swimming pool zone and view
- Free parking
- I had a birthday and hotel provided a nice surprise for me
-Amazing room view
stayed many times at Laurin, and we appreciate the dated rooms that are being kept at a very good condition. The park is just super classy and we love the pool as it feels like back in the 50s.
Breakfast on the terrasse is just outstanding. The hotel is pretty pricey, but Bolzano is not cheap hotel-wise.
The staff are friendly and polite.
The restaurant specially the dinner was amazing food also the breakfast was the basics but very delicious.
The size or the room is spacious
It need around 15 minutes by car to arrive to Bolzano center
The location of the hotel is very calm and clean
Nik, the owner, is outstanding! Taking care of the customer is his number one priority! Nik ensured our stay was exceptional! The breakfast and the staff were outstanding, too! I highly recommend Pepper Lounge & Suite if you plan to stay in beautiful Bolzano, Italy!
It is in a very good position to see Bolzano but also get away from the crowds if one wants to. Beautiful old hotel with charm. Breakfast is very good & the bar area at night has a great atmosphere. We loved our short stay.
Good location. Use of car park very close to hotel for very reasonable price (5 euros per day). 15 min walk to city centre, or 5 minute bus ride (all transport in Bolzano and regional trains free with card given by hotel).
The best thing regarding this hotel is its location. Also it is located in a historical building, but in the same time very well kept and clean. The room looked very comfortable, clean and cosy in the same time.
I love the views out of our windows and the lovely balcony. This historic hotel is gorgeous. It has a great location. Breakfast was wonderful. This is our second time staying here and we will be back again.
A very good hotel within walking distance from the train station, centrum and funiculum to the mountain above Bolzano. Room big and clean, good restaurant at the hotel and very good breakfast.
