Central location (there is a supermarket over the road) with a quiet and comfortable room. Other reviews have mentioned loud traffic noise and noisy guests or homeless people near the hotel - we did not experience any of this. It was a good place to stay for one night whilst passing through.
Gorgeous redwoods and lots of hike. The town has several fun and unique shops. I highly recommend Ramones Bakery for breakfast and lunch. The Sea Grill offers fine dining and very good steaks and prime rib for non-seafood folks.

Eureka was very pretty just not a lot to do, the mall really wasn't what I would consider a mall. The homeless population is pretty large. I wish they had more options for eating, lots of Mexican restaurants but not many American ones. If you drink diet coke be prepared, we had a very hard time finding them.

Very interesting town I wish I had more time to spend there and explore. Apparently not so safe, a lot of homeless and drug users in the old town part, but nova-days that happens everywhere… the town has something magical about it, definitely great past there somewhere… too bad its not being cultivated. Locals seemed quite interesting and friendly especially at coffee shops and bookstore downtown.

Great nature retreats around the city.
Great nature retreats around the city. Several amazing hiking opportunities. Fantastic views of the majestic sequoia and redwood trees. Plenty of alternatives to go dining out (although most might close a litor early).

Eureka had some cute shops and we had dinner at a really good restaurant called Sea Grill. It's close to the Redwoods, with all kinds of things to see and places to hike, and many beaches on the ocean, with beautiful views.

We went to visit the zoo.
We went to visit the zoo. It was a great experience to see the animals at the zoo. We walked the elevated walk in the zoo up in the giant trees and saw a nature walk outside the zoo. We asked about that walk in the cafe at the zoo. We walked the nature walk outside the zoo and it was so peaceful.
On the way to Oregon, the overnight stop in Eureka turned out to be more fun, comfortable and charming than I had expected. I rented a free-standing, well-built wood cabin with a double bed and bunk beds. I was able to have my dog at no extra cost. There is a porch! and a firepit/picnic table. Communal restrooms, with enclosed showers, were extremely clean and large.
The Eureka Inn is one of the most interesting hotels I’ve visited. From the haunted vibe - hey, can you beat a photo of Boris Karloff who stayed there on Halloween? Or the Presidents in the lobby? Or the labyrinth that is this hotel, until you figure it out. And the staff even fixed me up with a new room when my neighbors became a little too inebriated.
Hot breakfast was small in selection but definitely yummy .. staff was very helpful and friendly.. hospitality offered by one member in particular was beyond exceptional and I can't thank him (Levi) enough for all his help and info. The beds were clean and comfortable the hotel was perfect for our needs and look forward to staying there again
not a thing we got there there was a homeless encampment bye the vending machine and people kept walking around looking in the windows of our car while we were in the hotel room we could see them out the windows. we felt unsafe to stay there so we left and didn’t stay there and we booked a new hotel
This hotel has all you expect from a good 2 star hotel. It is conveniently located, has ample parking space, the rooms are clean, the bed was comfy, the people in the reception are friendly. No fancy stuff or thrills, but it should not be expected. All in all - it is a good choice.
The hotel room itself was very clean. No complaints with the breakfast. The spa , swimming pool , fire pits , and pool table were a great touch. And the included limo service was amazing as well. The staff were all absolutely fantastic and very helpful
The cabins were super cute and my lil family loved them! Plus the outdoor pool and hot tub was just right for the cool Eureka weather. We really enjoyed our stay there. Plus for dog owners they are pet friendly and have their own dog run! (;
Located in old town eureka, easy walk to a lot of fun and delicious restaurants. Loved the history of this hotel, the ambiance and its uniqueness. Great staff. Wonderful bed. A fun departure from a traditional motel or hotel.
The guy working the desk was the nicest person, and fixed the booking error. I did a same day booking on this site, the reservation sent to the hotel was for the following day.
