Fabulous location which meant shops, beach & eating places were all in walking distance. Rooms were great value given Carmel is generally an expensive place. Staff were exceptional- friendly, helpful & welcoming- nothing was too much trouble.

It was such a magical place full of restaurants, wineries, and cute cafes. I especially enjoyed the community vibe there. The community park, the history center and the library were nice surprises. It was neat to learn a bit of history about the village. My kid loved it too.

Beautiful weather and location - reasonable distance from SF for a nice getaway. Wish we could have organized a horseback riding trip or something but couldn't get my act together... need to reserve several days in advance.

We mostly drove up here to see Big Sur but ended up spending some time in Carmel Valley. We were only here for one morning so we grabbed some coffee and breakfast from Cafe Luna (which was great) and we took the 17 mile drive scenic drive along the coast and made all the stops along the way. They give you a pamphlet upon entering the park, which costs $10.50. It was worth it!

Carmel Valley is a lovely, picturesque town from which it is easy to get to Monterey and Carmel by the Sea. There are lovely hiking trails nearby. We especially enjoyed the Garland Ranch Park just down the road which has many trails of all levels of difficulty (walking and biking).
There are numerous restaurants in Carmel Valley and the three we tried were all excellent (Cafe Rustica, Thai Village, Trailside Cafe). Great coffee and pastries at the Wild Goose Cafe too.
BTW the picture for Carmel Valley is a bit misleading as it shows the coast on the Monterey Peninsula which is 17 miles away but easily accessible.

Everything is so easy to access.
Everything is so easy to access. Lots of good casual restaurants and services. The one outstanding shop that caught our attention was Qual & Olive that has a tremendous selection of California olive oils, vinegars and gifts.
This place has a cute retro aesthetic and it had a great pool, hot tub, and ping pong table for use into the night. The pool overlooked the mountains and we had it mostly to ourselves which was great. We had a late check in and the staff was super accommodating and there was continental breakfast in the morning with great Carmel Valley coffee. The area nearby is full of vineyards and cute restaurants, although they do close a little early. Amazing spot!
We went for the weekend of July 4th for some peace and quiet and to escape the fireworks. It was perfect for that. Every room faces the pool so there is noise from kids playing in the pool but that’s why families would come to a place like Contenta. It was family friendly and very pet friendly. Every room had a little patio with chairs and a table to relax with coffee or a glass of wine.
This is a beautiful little hotel in a fabulous location. Our room was big and had everything we needed. We would love to have stayed longer but we were only travelling through this area. The staff are really lovely. I didn’t use the pool as I had a cold but the others in my group did. The fire pits in the eve are a great place to relax and unwind.
The room and bed were really spacious. The bathroom needed a bit of TLC but overall it didn’t not affect our stay. The patio with view was lovely to have breakfast on. There were 20+ wine tasting rooms you could walk to from the hotel which were outstanding! Only about a 20 min drive to Carmel by the Sea.
The room was very charming and relaxing. The entire front office, the gardens and our room was absolutely beautiful, Every where you went it was very well care for and clean. The breakfast was a sweet touch to our stay. We would highly recommend anyone travel to stay at Carmel Valley Logde !!!!
Lovely inn - gorgeous location and very convenient to easily walk into Carmel valley village - very modern and well appointed - pretty and sheltered courtyard with sun loungers - nice private seating area to sit for morning coffees/afternoon beers in the sun.
property charges me multiple times after check out. Also charging the full amount on two occasions, after admitting they were incorrect the first time. if you claim to be a luxury resort there shouldn’t be problems like this. get it right the first time
Pool and hothub were great. Room was clean and comfortable. Friendliness of the staff superb, made you really feel at home. Very nice restaurants nearby with excellent wine choices (Carmel Valley is a wine rich area).
The breakfast was served by one person, very limited options. The cheapest paper plates and cups! During our stay no one cleaned our room. The sheets were smelling like old oil.
Felt like a retreat. Amazing property on the foothills. Since the property is downhill it felt away from Carmel valley road though entrance is right on Carmel valley road.
Spacious, clean room. Hotel Set in lovely surroundings with easy access to Carmel.
Pool an added bonus but unfortunately couldn’t use it due to the weather.
