Take a side trip to visit Kourtaliotiko Gorge. There is a trail in the gorge, but we didn't have time for that. So we stopped along the road above and followed the path passed the Church of Saint Nicholas down to a beautiful view of the waterfall.

Plakias is a good place to have a rest moving from Imbras...
Plakias is a good place to have a rest moving from Imbras Gorge to Kourtaliotiko gorge, city is small and quite. Beaches in city itself not seems are extraordinary, they have many rocks, but on the left end is there a nudist beach

Plakias has a nice village feel with nice beach's and plenty of tavernas, supermarket's, bakers and butchers, all within easy walking distance. We found the food at Antoni's Place was excellent and staff very helpful.

Plakias is a smallish town and very laid back and relaxing.
Plakias is a smallish town and very laid back and relaxing. As we were half board we didn't try many of the bars/restaurants on offer. We were going to go on a boat trip but one of our daughters was ill so we had to abandon that idea. My other daughter and I did visit Kourtaliotiko Gorge and waterfall which was amazing and we made it to Souda beach on the last day which had lovely clear water. We had a car so we could travel around. I personally think that is an essential if you want to explore the area as it takes a while to drive anywhere as the roads are quite small and bendy!STEPHENUnited Kingdom

We would definitely come back and stay here again as it was a wonderful experience. They are extremely proud of the hotel they built, and they should be. it was as perfect of a stay as I could have hoped for.

Very good beaches are few km away. The hotel itself - The staff was very helpful - It was very clean - Has everything necessary - Terrace was good size with great view - Breakfast was delicious Definitely happy with our stay.

Close to the center and the beach but better to go there by car. It's also very close to the best beaches in the area. The owner Kostas is friendly, helpful and warm, he will treat you as family and help you whatever you need. Location is a bonus, if you like the beatch, beach bars, local restaurants and small beach towns, as all of that is only 20 steps away from your hotel doorstep. The hotel is perfectly up to date, clean as a whistle and has everything you need to sit back and relax, the spacious terrace not to say the least. Would recommend this for sure! Gertjan & Severine

Also with 2 babies they provide us baby chairs and tab for them. Sofia ,Chriss everyone did everything for us so we can have the best vacations. If you like to walk, it is about 25 Minutes to Souda Beach (which is very nice, too). There are also two very good tavernes and one beach bar there. Christina, the owner, took also very good care of us.
