I was travelling for work, and I was overjoyed with the room: spacious, modern, clean with super comfortable bed, pillows - all best quality! The room was beautifully furnished, with a cozy feeling but modern. The chairs were comfortable, great feeling! TO SUM UP: Great bed, great pillows, super big room and bathroom, super comfortable room. FANTASTIC attention from the staff during morning breakfast (kitchen, waiters), I had so many vegan options presented for me, that I was shocked, there was wide variety of choices.

Commercial, Cultural and Modern with an Industrial Core
Katowice is located in the Silesian Highlands and is one of Europe’s largest industrial centres with a commercial, cultural and modern expansion from its old roots.
The spirit of the city is reflected in places such as Cathedral of Christ the King, the multipurpose and flying saucer shaped Spodek arena, the modern Silesia City Centre shopping mall, the cultural Silesian Museum, and the Historical Museum of Katowice.
Silesian Culture and Recreation Park is an extensive park located between Katowice and neighbouring Chorzow, a great place to keep in mind for a day excursion. Chorzow is home to a zoo, a amusement park, a nature reserve and the Silesian Planetarium.
The city offers several dining and entertainment options, from local 'no-frills' eateries and snack bars, to chic restaurants and bars around the cosmopolitan and upmarket streets of Staromiejska and Wawelska.
Check out Booking.com for great accommodation deals in the city centre and near Pyrzowice Airport and Katowice Central Station.
Katowice is a big city but the tram system is excellent.
Katowice is a big city but the tram system is excellent. We used the trams every day and as we are over 70, it was free! The Silesian museum was really interesting , detailing the history of the area and was well worth visiting. We ate out every day and found the meals to be good value and generally high quality. The Silesian Park is just wonderful, the autumn colours were stunning. Lots of restaurants in the Park too. Also worth visiting is the outdoor Silesian Ethnographic museum, set in very attractive grounds.

Great city. Good shops.
Great city. Good shops. As in all of Poland feel totally safe walking around town during the day or at night.
Lots of great shopping malls.
Lovely food.
Great that there are few tourists to spoil it. Ha,ha. Went to Krakow after this and it was full of loud brash, Irish, English, Americans.

It is difficult to approach.
It is difficult to approach. As a foreigner who is not familiar with the city, it is not easy. The gate is very strait, 2 meters wide. A large car cannot fit and there is no alternative because it is difficult to park on the street. The view of the city sounds nice but it is very noisy because of the tram that runs all night and the window is not well insulated.
The room is very nice and clean. One night if you are passing through, it is convenient.

Found it expensive however lovely place.
Found it expensive however lovely place. Do walk around the whole city to see the back end streets etc. Krakow around 1 hour by train price ranges from 19.95 to 27 polish zloty one way average 22.95 PLZ. 2 to 5 years will be transformed and this will be good. AP on yellow bus to from airport Terminal ABC combined. 6.60 Plz each way. Bus stop 10 in Katowice station which interacts with Katowice Gallerie (shopping Centre). Restaurants slightly different set up to that of other Euro countries. Europe place to be. Certain elements of society who are influenced by drink and drugs as per any country tend to hang about train station but Police on them often. Always looking for a scrounge but tends to walk away if firm but fair. Criminals will operate but overall safe city.

It's an underated city.
It's an underated city. It has a lot to offer for a weekend: the old town is not the best one but it has some interesting coffee hipster places. The cultural neighbourhood has impressive architecture, worthy to see. Check Nikiszowiec is beautiful.

An excellent city that has all the amenities of a real, small industrial city with an appropriate amount of heritage and cultural treasures. It is located at a traffic hub and is well connected to cities such as Krakow, Wroclaw. It is excellent for spending at least two quality days in it.
The hotel is really nice, located in the heart of the city with easy access to restaurants and transport.
Parking based on availability, but we managed to find a spot but we have had to pay for it, it is not included in the accommodation.
Breakfast is really good with enough options.
All was awesome, best hotel so far, good and multiple options in breakfast, available parking based on occupancy, well placed in city center, a but musky, probably carpets cleaning would do
Best hotel we ever staying in Poland!!! Everything was so perfect! Spacious rooms, the facilities even exceeded some of the higher end rooms who claim to be value for money and just dwell on the brand name. This hotel has everything including fridge in the room. We had asked for a baby cot and it was ready even before we entered the room. This will be my place to stay whenever we visit Katowice ever again!! Also will recommend all my friends to stay here.
this hostel was the most modern, cozy and joyful that i have had in Poland, especially taking in account the good price.
there's an actual reception desk (unlike many other hostels around) which is active 24h a day. the facilities are good enough for a short stay. the location is perfect near the main streets. the room is not that big but can handle most needs
This is a very friendly hostel, with its own courtyard. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen had everything needed (except an oven, which was taped closed). It's close to the city centre, less than 15 minutes walk from the train station and international bus station. The wi-fi was very good, the best I experienced in Poland on this trip.
The building is amazing. The location may not seem great at first sight, but once you're in the hotel it's like a different world. And there's a train station right opposite if one wants to leave the car and go to town (it only takes ~ 5 mins).
The restaurant was really good, and the service superb.
Best hotel in our Poland trip.
Excellent location! Best hotel I have stayed at in Poland. Staff is wonderful and the bartender makes a fantastic mojito. Breakfast is beyond great, everything is fresh and clean. Rooms are very spacious and the bed is one of the best I have ever slept in. I wish all hotels are like the Mercure.
Very stylish hotel, clean rooms, friendly staff, good value for money (executive room upgrade recommended), very good breakfast, good location (close to city center and train station), also have sauna and gym (did not visit)
The hotel located in the heart of Katowice, close to all city sights. Also there are Central Railway and bus stations 10 min walk, with direct buses to the airport. Stuff was very pleasant, rooms were cozy, clean and neat.
Very good location. Exactly in centrum , The main square is 1min walk away. Prices per one night are very friendly, very quiet rooms with airco. For sure when i will visit Katowice again, i will stay here again.
The location is very close to the train and bus station, easy to get to the airport and city centre. The room was big and clean, the bed was comfortable, as well as bathroom.
