The woman on afternoon reception was brilliant. Made us feel very welcome and provided lots of advice and tips (map) on places to eat etc. Room was clean and comfortable with good quality towels and bed linen - great after a hard day's walking! Location close to Camino.

This was such a treat whilst walking the Camino. Nestled in the Galician countryside, so beautiful. The receptionist was a local , full of interesting information, and suggestions for our days rest. The thermal spa was great and the hot stone massage was the best we’d ever had.

The staff was amazing. The washing machine was already set on the correct setting, and the washing powder was ready for our washing.
It was a very cold, wet day, and our apartment was nice and warm.
The hotwater was only lukewarm.
We bought tickets for breakfast the next morning but I wouldn't recommend it.

It was a charming property with excellent facilities including screening room and lots of character. Exceptional service and lovely staff including wonderful owner Gustavo. A really special place to stay for the Camino de Santiago. Felt like a home from home with a lovely terrace to sit out and enjoy joy a drink in the evening.

The hostess was very considerate and thoughtful. The location is near the pilgrimage route and there is a large garden. After we checked in, the hostess prepared milk, ice water and fruit for us, and told us that we could use the washing machine to wash clothes. The room was fully equipped, clean, quiet and comfortable. Seeing that we brought a puppy, not only did she not charge any fees, but she also sent a new dog bed, bowls and snacks, and told us the address of the supermarket. She was like a good friend. Thank you! Highly recommended!

Good location and cheap. Room was nice and warm on arrival
HORRIBLE HOTEL. INFESTED WITH BED BUGS AND NO HEATER IN ROOM. AWFUL SERVICE. NO ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE IN TIMES OF NEED. DISGRACE TO THE CITY. HOPE THE CITY SHUTS THIS HOTEL DOWN.
WHEN YOU CALL THE FRONT DESK, THERE IS NO ONE AVAILABLE AND WHEN YOU CALL ON THE CELL PHONE, THEY SAY HEATER IS BROKEN OR MUNCIPALITY DOES NOT ALLOW HEATERS TO BE TURND ON IN ROOMS.

Of all our stops on the Camino from Sarria to here (...
Of all our stops on the Camino from Sarria to here (currently in Melide), Palas de Rei was the least interesting or exciting. Still, it had hidden gems in a hostal we found to eat dinner (there are not a lot of options) and returned for breakfast on our way out. Also, the laundry mat was a big plus and the driers worked really well. Dried a lot of clothes for 3 euros. Just have to ask around for change. The bar next door and the grocery store behind were so helpful.

A great place to stay, relax , have a well earned siesta after long walk from Portmarin 24.6 kms + Probably quieter in October when we visited but still found a good restaurant "Meson a Forxa" and had a delicious meal after 7 - early for Spanish but filled up rapidly . Lots of Camino walkers took break here.

A small town on the pilgrims way, the palas itself is 7 kilometers away.
Restaurants are very good and reasonably priced. 10 euros are enough for a person per day to be happy and even to try a milk sucking lamb baked in owen.

Small interesting town on the camino trail route (St James), not a lot to see but a good selection of bars and restaurants.
A few shops selling all sorts of things, so you could find what you need if required.
The location, with respect to the Camino, was good. We stayed here on route, while walking the Camino. Although many of the restaurants/bars were closed, the proprietor, having stopped by by to check on us, offered to drive my wife to a place nearby where we could buy some food to take back to the hotel. This act exceeded our expectations of service and demonstrated a true commitment to the care she provides for her clients. THANK YOU
Easy access: the keys are in a little box and the lady owner can be phoned if necessary! This little house is great for pilgrims/tourists who would like to rest a couple of days. Shops etc. nearby. There are regular buses to Santiago and Lugo. There is a fully equipped kitchen, good wifi and television. No traffic noise what so ever. The people of Palas de Rei are very friendly.
A welcoming and efficient hotel on the Camino. Charming touches in the rooms and the lounge, plus a very attentive owner/operator, Mario. Good space in the back (although it was chilly and windy so we couldn't enjoy much, but on a better day it would have been fantastic just to lounge outside). Very good breakfast, well-made food. Stay. The owner takes pride in the place.
The nicely renovated rural house. A family owned and operated with the family rite on site. The dining and restaurant were a distinctly positive experience. We enjoyed some of the best food of our entire stay in Spain. Some delicious and creative offerings. The family were very attentive and supportive.
Lovely clean hostel right on the path of the Camino. Private space in room with curtains between beds. Very clean throughout. Bakery adjoined to the hotel which did lovely pastries for breakfast. Large area to wash and dry clothes. Friendly and helpful staff.
Beautifully restored and up-kept property. staff is amazing and attentive. Best nights sleep I’ve had after 6 weeks in Spain. Gorgeous comfortable bed and peacefully quiet. I wish I had stayed more than one night. I will next time.
Simply the best hotel on Camino Primitivo. We have stayed many times and it is great to see the place thriving under the excellent new team. Could not be better. Highlight of our Camino.
The lady working at reception with the short grey hair was the most lovely and helpful person. She made us all feel so happy and welcome! She’s a huge asset to the hotel ♥️
This hotel is very central and right on the Camino route. So it's an easy choice - I had a good experience with the staff. And overall received good service.
This is a great location if you don't want to walk all the way from Portomarin to Palas de Rei in a day. The room was clean and the staff were friendly.
