The Grand Hotel, hotel in Torquay

Attractively set in the centre of Torquay, The Grand Hotel features 4-star accommodation close to Riviera International Centre and Torre Abbey. The rooms come with a TV with satellite channels.

The sea view room we took had a lovely view of the pool and sea. The downstairs was very nice and staff were friendly. Swimming in the outdoor pool was a treat. I had read a lot of bad reviews so was quite worried about staying but it was actually great!

TLH Victoria Hotel - TLH Leisure, Entertainment and Spa Resort, hotel in Torquay

Just 3 minutes’ walk from Torquay seafront, the Victoria Hotel offers fine period features and extensive leisure facilities including indoor and outdoor pools, a luxury spa, leisure complex and gym.

The facilities are fabulous, huge comlex so enough room to accommodate a variety of ages. All staff are so efficient at their jobs, therefore, everything runs smoothly. We stayed in an apartment, which really helped make our stay cheap with buying food in and tea and coffee. I know the restaurant food is amazing though as we have stayed before. Location is perfect, quiet, but also convenient to the front where there are plenty more bars and restaurants.

My mum and I came to visit for a mini break this weekend, we like to come & visit if we can every year. Trecarn hotel is not far to visit neighbouring areas such as Torquay, mead foot beach and Paignton, the hotel rooms are basic but have everything you need for a comfortable nights sleep, the bath & shower was brilliant, our room was nice & clean and hotel staff were all lovely, thank you 😊 We had a lovely time Elizabeth & Tricia Mitchell

If you like drinking and being a general yahoo in the streets then Torquay would be the ideal location for you. Definitely don’t recommend driving your car, as you’ll need to walk miles to get to it. Overrated, with no class to it at all.

Torquay is a lovely English seaside town, has lots of links to Agatha Christie and some great local restaurants and bars. Lots of things to do only down side is at the moment the town is under going many road works in and out so getting about can be a bit slow by car/taxi. its also very hilly so walking can be difficult if in anyway unabled.

Been to Torquay regularly down the years, but we missed last year due to other commitments. Couldn't believe the change. What has happened to the town? It is a dishevelled, shabby place. Now full of beggars, roadworks, and boarded up shops. Thoroughly depressing and I'm so sad to say that I will not be returning. It is a ghost of what it once was, the jewel in Torbay. Couldn't wait to leave..

Pleasant seaside situation, somewhat run down town centre, plenty of restaurants, very hilly, parking is a nightmare and at the moment there is reconstruction going on in the middle of town. It has a charm of a sort and some nice walks if fit. There is a reasonably good bus service to take you to other local towns - Dawlish, Teignmouth, etc - and there are quite a few beaches although as we visited in April and had a planned reason to stay we didn't visit any. Visitors need to choose their hotel carefully - we saw some examples of what might politely be called faded buildings.

Lovely hotel with a friendly atmosphere and high standards. Parking for each room is a real bonus, and Torquay seafront is only a 5 minute walk away. Hosts Gary and Philip are clearly committed to providing the very best and were on hand at all times with a cheery smile. Unusual attention to detail, for example, fresh milk and water for the room available self-service from a fridge in the dining room. Room itself was spacious, stylish and comfortable. Bathroom spotless and newly refurbished. Would definitely stay here again!

John and Nicki where great hosts. Always smiling and nothing was a problem. The hotel was fab. From entering we knew we had picked the right hotel and spot. The bedroom was spotless with little extras on top of the usual tea coffee and tv. The rest of the hotel was also spotless and clean. Plenty of seating in the lounge and in the conservatory/sun room overlooking the great swimming pool and garden lounge. John and Nicki always on hand to serve drinks and hot and cold snacks. Superb.

Arrived at 2pm, attending a funeral and didn't realise the check-in time was 4pm (what hotel has a check in time this late?) Three staff sat on reception doing nothing, wouldn't let me check in as room hadn't been checked! Wasn't sure where the leisure facilities were, think they are spread all over Torquay. Couldn't get an evening meal if not booked with the room. Very geared to elderly coach tours, coach blocking carpark. Cheap and cheerful,, but not the staff

The property is exactly what you expect from an old fashioned hotel in Torquay, it got character and it’s in the best location, it was basic but it was cheap and clean. There’s nothing wrong with it at all. It’s a bit dated but that adds to the charm of the place in my eyes. We had an amazing anniversary weekend here and would definitely go again
