The breakfast was poor and certainly not what I expect of a continental breakfast.Towels were not changed daily.We did not sleep till well after midnight on the Saturday as the Hotel ran a disco in the garden which was so loud that the toilet seat was vjbrating.On the plus side the hotel interior was modern and very well carpetedThe staff were excellent and produced whatever we found missing.The bed was comfortable as were the pillows and the Jacuzzi was a surprising bonus.

Sanquhar is a great place.
Sanquhar is a great place. Locals are very friendly and welcoming. There is a good selection of shops and cafes. Plenty of walking to be done. We loved the FUN pool: it is clean and the water is a really nice temperature. The hotel is situated in its own grounds, a little way off the main road. It is adjacent to the local swimming pool .It has a good vegetable garden and grows it's own produce. There are lovely rural views from the windows. We didn't get the chance to explore Sanquar itself as we were just there for one night and had a full itinery. However, the town is situated in very pretty countryside. Local sites include Crawick Multiverse, which we didn't have time to visit, but other guests raved about it. Sanquar is just a few miles from Drumlanrig Castle and Dumfries House, both of which were really worth a visit, despite the poor weather we experienced. the hotel is situated in the picturesque location The staff were very friendly and helpful The rooms were clean and tidy The breakfast was lovely The meals in the evening there was not much of a choice your bog standed pie and chips fish and chips there were no steaks on the menu may be this was due to covid The only down fall was the dogs When we arrived there was 3 dogs yapping at yeh and meal times the dogs were just left to roam were ever they wanted even in the meal room were people were eating. The chef is excellent. The dinner and breakfast were the highlight of our stay. The only negative thing is that it was not possible to get a wifi connection in our room. The staff were not able to fix the problem. I had to tether my mobile phone to get to the internet.
