The historic area of town is pretty and well served with outdoor and indoor eating areas. There no loud night time music at Bank Holiday weekend.
The are some modern shopping centres. There are plenty of well maintained green areas. There doesn't appear to be any local buses around the town. There is a train station. I walked 4 Km on Saturday morning doing some emergency shopping after Ryanair lost my luggage. I would have gladly taken a local bus if there had been any. It could be a nice base to explore the area if you are driving.

Great experience, went to see grandson in show, but decided to stay overnight. Great place to walk round, nice architecture and variety of shops - scotney castle 10 minutes away
One on the best places to eat from all places I’ve visited - the grill restaurant at the barn. Excellent food and great value, if I lived locally it would be weekly visit without a doubt.

Pleasant town for sight seeing.
Pleasant town for sight seeing. Good transport facilities by local transport. There are a reasonable number of eating places and the usual Coffee chains offering refrehments. The Pantiles is the usual visiting spot for small shops and antiques. There is a central Railway with connections all over the country. Has bus and taxi services too. There is a local library in the town centre with an interesting museum. There is an extensive shopping mall as well. There are some parks and some hills that could be explored, all near the centre of town

It is a very interesting town.
It is a very interesting town. There are many fascinating buildings dating from the Georgian period, including the Pantiles.
The shopping area, although small, has several quality outlets.
The general vibe of the town centre is very good especially at night.
Of course, Tunbridge Wells is set amongst beautiful Kent countryside.
A great place to visit.

Despite the early morning cleaners - the noise was intolerable and we could have done with a lie in, considering we didn’t have to check out until 11 - we left by 9! We only had one night booked but expected more . For the price, breakfast should have been included .

The hotel was in a good location for the Pantiles and Spa Valley railway. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were allowed to check in early, and when my partner had a migraine on our departure day, they allowed him to stay in the room for longer so he could sleep. The room was clean, and the shower was great. We ate there on the first night, and the food was very tasty. Breakfast was good. Another plus was the free parking. We would definitely stay again. Well done, Smith and Western.
Wonderful. What a little gem. Peter an Ann were so welcoming. This neat and quiet B&B has a real home-from-home feel to it. The room was clean, tidy and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, much better than most other B&B or hotels what would have charged much more. As an added bonus, whilst having breakfast, you can look out onto their delightful garden which they manage themselves. I look forward to staying again when I'm in the area.
Family run hotel so they made sure that we were well looked after. All the staff were very helpful, polite & friendly.
Breakfast 10/10 - one of the best that we have ever had. We had fresh fruit salad with natural yoghurt, followed by a sausage sandwich. All freshly served & well presented.
Dinner menu - 2 sides of A4 to choose from, so something for everyone. Very impressed. All very well cooked & presented.
Thank you for making our stay so good.
An historical hotel, with unique 1st floor sunroom frontage. Easy parking in front of the hotel (although quite full, so finding a space could be an issue). Well located to walk in to town for restaurants, shopping, etc. Pleasant helpful staff. Large restaurant in a light airy side room. Good choice of beers. Nice views over Tunbridge Wells from front facing rooms.
I liked the intimate atmosphere of this small Hotel. The staff were helpful, friendly and waiting of tables at mealtimes was accomplished speedily. Lovely breakfast and a good selection of beverages available in the room. I liked that there were local green spaces to walk to and the Pantiles and shops were not situated far away.
For the amount, the hotel is simply unremarkable! Super service from cool, kind and caring staff! The hygiene is remarkable and the place has positive energy ! I personally don't go anywhere else when I'm in town and I don't know what I could do with To be surprised even in a 5-star hotel
Excellent hotel and the room was wonderful. Probably the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. Staff were excellent and fabulous location.
I’m lucky enough to have stayed in many hotels and I would put this high up my list of best stays!
A very nice, comfortable and historic hotel.....we very much enjoyed the restaurant in the evening. We had a driver so did not go out in the evening. The staff are friendly and helpful. Quiet at night which we appreciated.
Room number 1 is the nicest hotel room I've ever stayed in. Very pleasantly surprised in general with the hotel. Lovely staff and excellent restaurant, I couldn't recommend it highly enough.
Staff were genuinely pleasant and helpful. Hotel had a heavy western theme which was amusing. I imagine kids would love it. Perfect location for the Forum, Pantiles and High Street.
Staff were very great and keen to help. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. It is an attractive-looking hotel in a great spot, with parking located conveniently nearby.
Beautiful hotel. Really convenient for the town. Had parking which is so convenient when staying in a town. Staff smiley & helpful. An excellent place to stay
Lovely setting and the cottages are newly built, so was very clean.
Access to washing machine and dryer.
Pet friendly (cottages only, not in main hotel).
