The hotel was brilliantly located with 2 lively Public Houses, an Indian and Spanish restaurant within 100 yards. It was only a short walk into Lincoln town centre and the quayside. The cafe in the courtyard was owned by the hotel and provided a good cooked breakfast at a reasonable price. The receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful. The furniture in the room was old fashioned but this is exactly what we like in a hotel room. All in all this hotel was an excellent choice.
Situated next to the Lincoln Castle, the Grade II Listed Hotel offers individually styled rooms including Wi-Fi and luxury private bathrooms.

I made a mix up whilst booking, the owner of the hotel telephoned me in person the next day to reassure me dates could be changed and not to panic. She even very kindly threw in a room upgrade. The Customer Service was excellent and the hotel and location were fab too, as was the big breakfast!

Lincoln was a powerhouse of medieval England and retains amazing monuments from that period. In the Uphill district is the castle built for William the Conqueror. Inside its an original copy of the Magna Carta and its ramparts offer fabulous city views. Across the cobbled square which houses the large Christmas market is huge Lincoln Cathedral whose unusual façade features 2 tall towers, while another at its centre overlooks the Bishop’s Palace.
Connecting the cathedral quarter with the Downhill district is aptly named Steep Hill, a narrow street lined with unique shops and historic buildings including the Jew’s House. Even older are the Roman Newport Arch, Mint Wall and the well on Bailgate.
This road slopes down to meet the River Witham at High Bridge, a stone-arched structure with a half-timbered building atop that is the oldest of its kind in England. Lincoln boat trips depart from the Brayford Pool just west.
Another monument is the 18th-century Ellis Mill, opposite the Museum of Lincolnshire Life. The Collection combines an archaeology museum and art gallery, while The Lawn has a conference centre and the Joseph Banks Conservatory, displaying artefacts he brought back from adventures with Captain Cook.
Booking.com’s Lincoln accommodation covers luxury waterfront hotels, guest houses by the university and cheap apartments near the train station.

Lincoln is a good place to visit with a lot of history to look around. The cathedral area is walkable from the newer centre albeit up Steep Hill which as it's name suggests is tiring but worth it. There is a bus that goes from the bottom end of the city to the cathedral area.

Not too touristy.
Not too touristy. Must-sees are the castle and cathedral, and (if you can manage it) Steep Hill. Plenty of independent shops and restaurants, as well as all the chains on the flat part near the river. City walk (most weekends and free, with donations) really worth doing.

Love it all, from the shopping on the high street, the wonderful new Corn Exchange area and on up steep hill to the cathedral/castle quarter.
We would recommend the free walking tours, we did the Roman history one and Matt our guide was brilliant, showing us remnants of the roman walls and giving us a visual idea of how things were.
There are plenty of pubs and bars to choose from but we particularly loved the Magna Carta, which had a brilliant band playing on the night we went in.
Lincoln is brilliant and I love it!

History, shopping, and a great big hill!
History, shopping, and a great big hill! Well worth the effort walking up Steep Hill to get the inspirational Cathedral atop; plus there are plenty of boutique shops to pop in on the way for a rest. As a bonus for the kids is that there's a good ice-cream parlour at the bottom and a local fudge shop almost at the top!

We liked the numerous places to eat.
We liked the numerous places to eat. We enjoyed visiting inside the Castle, the walk around the Castle walls, and seeing the Magna Carta. The steep walk was an enjoyable bit of exercise. We were disappointed at the cost of and limited access to the Cathedral, I really expected to be able to enjoy and discover more of its splendour.

The room was lovely. Carpet was lovely and fluffy, beautiful curtains. The mattress was the best I've slept on in a hotel for a while. Breakfast was lovely although I wasn't a fan of the Lincolnshire sausages but hubs soon cleared them off lol!! The manager was friendly and helpful. The hotel position is great for the castle and cathedral. Car park very close and only £9 for 24hrs. Will definitely be staying again hopefully won't leave it 7 years til our next visit.
All of the staff at the hotel and restaurant were wonderful, very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good and so was our dinner, which we had included in the room rate. There was a lovely outdoor terrace for afternoon tea and pre-dinner drinks. The hotel was located in a pretty village and was only a short drive from Lincoln city centre.
Second time myself and wife have stayed at the tower hotel, such a nice place & reasonably priced, the location is perfect for the cathedral, lots of bars and restaurants nearby not that you need them as the hotel has a lovely bar and restaurant too.
Very comfortable and well proportioned rooms, great bar and food couldn't ask for more
Very convenient location, especially for the older part of town (although the whole of Lincoln is easily accessible by foot). The apartment is spacious, light, and peaceful. Lovely communal and outdoor areas for preparing and eating basic food (microwave, plates, sink, etc... anything that doesn't require an actual cooker!)
iI stayed in the Poppy and Lauren Suite during my stay and both rooms were excellent.
One of the best hotel stays I've had! The restaurant downstairs serves one of the best food! Selection at breakfast was great. Really lovely friendly staff. My choice hotel when I'm in Lincoln and will definitely be back.
The hotel is in a fantastic location, right on the waterside at Brayford Wharf, so very close to bars and restaurants in Lincoln. The breakfast was good quality, in the restaurant at the top of the hotel, so the views across the city were nice. The staff we encountered were all very polite and helpful.
Excellent. Fast, efficient check-in, a nice realxed bar area, which was great to sit down with the laptop and work in. Food was good, big portion sizes. And the WiFi was exceptional. As a photographer, trying to upload images on hotel wifi can be challenging. But this was as fast as at home, and free! !
The location was very good for walking into Lincoln down the canal path with free parking on site. It was very quiet at night time and we slept very well. The hotel room was clean and the shower was very powerful. Breakfast was nice with table service for hot food and help yourself cereals.
The room was lovely and quiet with a really comfy bed and a great view.
Got to try the restaurant food on this occasion and it was amazing, both evening meal and breakfast. We would always use the Tower Hotel when staying in lincoln as the value for money is spot on.
The location was great. There are about 20 restaurants in walking distance and the hotel is right on the water. The hot breakfast is great with a marina view. The staff is exceptionally friendly.
Unbeatable location, beautiful place. All the basic stuff for cooking supplied + tea, dinner, milk.
We were absolutely happy and comfortable. Checkin in and out is super easy.
Love Lincoln.
I especially like the location of the hotel. It is very close to the castle and cathedral. This was my second stay at Castle Hotel, and plan to stay there in the future.
Both the location & the hotel were acceptable and having been down into bLincoln we were pleased to have stayed in the location we did near the Cathedral.
AS stated above all the aspects of a hotel are catered for in a professional and effective manner. Whenever I am in Lincoln, IBIS is my hotel of choice.
