Our stay at the Frensham Pond Country house Hotel was a delightful experience. From the moment we arrived, the charm of the place was evident. Our stay was excellent the staff were very helpful & attentive . Very pleasant front of house lady . The rooms were excellent clean and full of character , just how we like it . Only one point to mention , the gin in the rooms is a lovely touch except the bottle is open and has been there for other guests ! if this was miniatures I would of had a gin but not knowing who had used the room before and may have drink from the bottle 🤷‍♀️ who know it was not got me . We will definitely be back and that you for our packed breakfast our balloon flight eventually got off the ground at 10am so our 5.30 am start was not needed 🙈🙈 all in all a great stop over thank you 🎉🎉

Claremont Coach House, hotel in Hindhead

Set in Frensham in the Surrey region, Claremont Coach House offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking.

Fran (our host) was courteous, helpful and a lovely lady. The accommodation is beautiful and in beautiful surroundings. Perfect for couples as well as families with up to 2 children. We were greeted in the kitchen with croissants, butter and some lovely strawberry jam as well as all that was needed for a nice hot drink after our journey there. Fran even gave us a wedding card as we stupidly left ours at home. 😘

The accommodation had been updated to a good standard & full of character. Literature on varied sports activities & sightseeing & local information available. Our trip would have been better in warmer weather. The accommodation was very difficult to find. Very good variety of board games, for families & adults.

Hindhead is my birth place. I love it!

Hindhead is my birth place. I love it! the National Trust have done wonders. the whole area around the Punchbowl is absolutely beautiful, there are numerous walks and lovely places to sit. every season is special. the miracle of the A3 being taken away to a tunnel is just amazing. the walk to Gibbet Hill is lovely. an easy walk that takes us to over 900 feet above sea level. the views are amazing. on a good day one can see London. the Exmoor ponies have made such a difference, parts of the area look like the New Forest, another favourite place. apart from the Hotel restaraunt there are no eateries in the evening which is a shame, but Haslemere and Grayshott are not too far away.

    Friendly welcoming and hardworking staff.

Friendly welcoming and hardworking staff. Restaurant was packed and obviously popular. We only had breakfast which we thought below average. Very little choice. Accommodation is very dated. Lots of furniture and fittings in our room broken. Needs huge investment on the accommodation side. Everything felt and smelt damp. Very good location and excellent customer service so deserves to do better.

This is an area I know from childhood in the 1960s and although the views across the National Trust land remain with only slight encroachment from development, the access via the official National Trust car park is not attractive and the main walks are of course busy with dog walkers and cyclists. In my personal judgement, the area has become more of a pleasant amenity for the fortunate people who live in the area and I would not rank it as a tourist attraction.

Hindhead is very very small it is I would say a hamlet, so don’t go if your expecting more. But - The Devils Punch Bowl makes up for this it is stunning!! Hazelmere is 10mins away if you feel the need to go anywhere else.

Only saw a small part as was mostly hiking, but there was a lovely pub in the next village called the fox and flamingo. The national trust park of devil's punchbowl and surrounding heaths, commons and forests are beautiful. Plenty of walks for all abilities.

The staff were friendly and approachable. The room was large, warm, clean and quiet adequate for a night or two. It has a nice dinning room for a good cooked breakfast. The hotel benefits from a good size car park and being just off the main A3, London to Portsmouth Road and on the bus route from Haslemere Railway station and the village of Grayshott. There are many walks you can do over the National Trust Common land very close by. I've stayed before and would again.

Stayed here after a nearby wedding. The hotel is a "does what it says on the tin" kind of place. Its reasonably priced, the rooms are a good proportion and functional. The decor is dated but you're getting a large room with ensuite for a very good price in comparison to other places nearby. It's no frills but sometimes the hotel is just where you get your head down.

We needed a convenient hotel for a local 1 night stay. The room had a new bed which was very comfortable. We did not have breakfast. The hotel needs a lot of investment - they are starting in the downstairs bar and eating areas. These looked fine but there is a lot to do. Ideal for a short stay and at £77 a night for a double room you pay for what you get.

This is a great spot for walking on Hindhead Common and The Devils Punchbowl. Our dog was made to feel welcome, the property was spotless and the kitchen well stocked with little extra goodies like milk, crumpets and even Easter Eggs. Jackie was lovely too. We used the washing machine as this was at the end of a trip away and all worked well.

Excellent location for exploring the local area. The room was spacious, well furnished. The staff were really excellent and the breakfast good. The hotel decor was better than we had expected from past experience of it. Despite having a party on, we had been put far enough away from it for there to be no issue with noise.
