The breakfast was a fusion of Japanese and French cuisine. It was excellent in as it had all the characteristics of a buffet-style meal but served very attractively on a plate or two.
Coffee was good but a little hard to get.

We came to Gotemba because we wanted a base from which to climb Fuji and the hotels offered an onsen which was far more reasonable that some of the other hotels in area.
There is a bus that runs from the train station to the 5th station where you can start your climb - just make sure you exit the station on the right side! (left as you come up the stairs from the trains)
Most useful if you've got a car otherwise I think I'd have stayed elsewhere

The Premium Outlets are a must see and you could spend all day there. Also, there are MASSIVE discounts for tourists (DEC 2022). The lava caves were also a great thing to see if you have extra time! The only bad thing about Gotemba are that the transportation is a bit tricky! The safari zoo was also pretty great. Try to get on the bus! You can feed lions!

We found the hotel was easy to locate and noticed several signs with the hotel and the distance (kilometers) to the hotel. Hotel parking area was conveniently located near the elevators and with good lighting. We found a great yakiniku place within a 10 min. drive from the hotel and saw many other options for places to eat. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful on explaining the hotel facilities. If we stayed for more than one night we would have been interested if there were places within walking distance of the hotel.

I lived there for 7 months 3 years and some change ago, but with COVID-19, the city has taken a big hit. Tourists were there, but not as many as before. The places I'd recommend to eat at before are no longer there, too. If you're considering coming to Gotemba, thoroughly do your research and partake of neighboring cities like Mishima, Numazu, Hakone, and Odawara.

You could use it as a base to visit afew places everyday or choose to stay at those places as well. The Tourist Visitor Information Ctr at the back of gotemba station where the airport shuttle would drop you is very friendly and helpful.

Great base for trekking Mt Fuji.
Great base for trekking Mt Fuji. Beautiful landscapes and Outlet Shopping!
We also went to the Fuji Speedway, which is a short distance away. Fortunately for us, there was the added bonus of actual racing going on!
Prompt replies to questions. Clear instructions. Good wifi. Location easy to find and within 5 mins walk from Gotemba station. Gorgeous view of Mount Fuji from the west facing windows. Really inspiring to be able to see Mount Fuji through your window immediately when you wake up. Good locations for food nearby. Easy to access the Gotemba Premium Outlets. We were able to easily get a bus from Gotemba Bus Station to go Lake Yamanaka, Oshino Hakkai and Lake Kawaguchi for great views of Mount Fuji, local culture and natural scenery.
Everything. Onsen, for bath, views, complimentary ramen, beverages, drinks, ice-cream.
TRANSPORT: It was easy to take public transport to the hotel. From Gotemba Premium Outlet outlets
Option 1) Take free shuttle bus and alight at Tomei Gotemba and walk for 15 min.
Option 2) Take Tozan bus towards Gora. Check with driver and alight a few (4th or 5th) bus stop. Walk 2 minutes to the hotel.
The staff is EXCELLENT. They were all kind, welcoming, courteous, and helpful.
The room was clean and comfortable, though a little crowded.
The location is great. It is very close to the Gotemba station--easy to find and get to. It worked very well for what we were looking for.
Breakfast had a good variety of choices, and staff kept all the food selections well supplied.
Great location and close enough to Gotemba Premium Outlet. The hotel is very clean and tidy. We stayed in the Mt. Fuji view room and the view in the morning was stunning. Onsen is also opened until midnight which was helpful. The Onsen bath with Mt.Fuji view was amazing. Will definitely stay here again in the next visit.
Mars Garden Wood Gotemba had a good location and views. It is literally a garden woods. The view from our room was very nice. Due to the season during our stay, they have light show every hour (?) at night and we simply loved it. Rooms were big enough for a family of 4, even if the kids are almost adults.
The Mt Fuji view was great. Newly opened hotel that is clean and the breakfast also had good variety. Room slightly small but clean and comfortable. Staff helpful. The location is good for those who drive and want to go Gotemba Premium Outlets but it was quite a walk from the bus stop or train station.
We really liked the customer service at this hotel. There was also a lot to do at the hotel such as feeding the koi, watching the light water show and having a soak in the onsen! We loved the room, it was so comfortable and the view was amazing. The shuttle to and from the station was perfect as well.
The hotel staff are attentive, knowledgeable and friendly: hotel beds are nice and cosy , with good spread for breakfast each day , location is great with access to supermarket, fast food even daiso & Uniqlo too ,
That’s why we return to this venue time after time for its hospitality and facility
Location was excellent, and it was a cute place with an interesting vibe. I liked that it was close to the train station and near lots of bars and restaurants. Would probably be great during normal times (and not the pandemic). It was a typical hostel.
Basic rooms with all the essentials you need including pyjamas, toiletries and even complimentary dinner (curry and rice). Staff were helpful and there is a microwave and vending machines. Close to supermarkets and the train station.
The location is great. You can easy to access from the station of train or bus.
I enjoyed their breakfast. There were Japanese and American style. They allow to bring the meal to your room by yourself.
I like that they have parking next to the hotel, they offer free ice-cream and ramen at night. The onsen is good and top floor can see the mountain Fuji.
